Hotel Eden

děkuji za příjemný a pohodlný pobyt, doufám, že se brzy vrátíte zpět Navzdory zmatku z online rezervací v hotelech Saas Fee jsme byli velmi vítáni a Lilah a Marion a jejich rodina nebyli příliš obtížemi. Cítil jsem se jako doma z domova.

My initial reason for booking this 3 star hotel was that they offered 15 nights bed & breakfast stay for a reasonable price. The hotel is sited in the Wildi district of Saas Fee which is a long way from the ski lifts. If you are coming by bus do not get off at Saas Fee Wildi bus stop as it is a steep uphill walk and that icy walk up was officially closed with lethal 30 degrees steep walk up! It's best to get off the bus at Saas Fee Bus Terminal and walk back to Wildi through the car parks. In walk mode in ski boots at pace it takes 11 minutes to walk downhill to the ski lifts and to walk back uphill to the hotel from the ski lifts takes 18 minutes. The Thomas the tank engine electric train from Dorfstrasse main road stops close by as does the small free Intersport electric bus. You can get the yellow Post Bus from Alpin to Saas Fee Parkhaus and walk through the recycling tunnel towards Wildi instead. Being so far from the centre means it's a quiet location. The greeting on arrival was warm and friendly and informative. It appears to be a family run thing and they all work hard to make it a good place to stay. I stayed in room 106 on the first floor classed as a small double room. Nice pine wood flooring and cupboards with good wardrobe storage. For those with expensive items that want to use the combination hotel safe it can take an iPad or a 10 inch PC but nothing bigger (a safe place anyway). The room key does all three the front door, the ski room door and the front door for late night returns. The Samsung TV is roughly 26 inches with some English TV channels on 301 upwards some weak signal UK channels do not get reception. Everything in the room works well great lighting, a descent powerful shower with warm water on demand unlike some others like the Sunstar 4 star where it took a long time for the water to heat up in comparison. The bathroom is compact but functional with a good radiator to dry your ski gear. The room is kept very clean top marks. The breakfast is immaculately prepared typical 3 star one continental with boiled eggs not a cooked breakfast that's a 4 star hotel thing. Plenty of breakfast on offer I do not need to eat lunch or dinner after it. I get supermarket food to reduce costs as I ski 6 weeks per year average and I need to keep the costs down. The crowdfunding season ski pass at CHF 255 £195 was fantastic value valid from 01/11/2018 to 30/04/2019 encouraging longer stays in my case as with 120kms of skiing this resort is being considered a day trip or a long weekend ski trip not a week stay resort. Apparently that season winter card is being scrapped next year probably as they were losing money on it. I skied 30 days there on that ticket. The burger pass issued on arrival serves as the bus pass to the local post buses to Saas Almagell, Saas Grund and Saas Balen. It also gives discounts in town. I got 10 swims at Aqua Allain with that burger pass for CHF 70 instead of CHF 12.50 per day well worth doing a decent 25 metre stainless steel pool linked to the modern Youth hostel that was rebuilt in 2013. The ski room was small but did have ski boot dryers and was partly a charging garage for the electric hotel van. I think they did do electric van trips to and from the slopes but I did not use it as I went early to the ski lifts. They do offer an alternative ski room closer to the ski lifts in the basement of another hotel with a combination code but I've done that before and traipsing between two locations becomes a pain but it's a solution if the hotel is full and there's not enough room in their ski room. The older guy is friendly who helps out setting up the breakfasts as is the other younger lady. Overall it's a very good place to stay the breakfast is better than another nearby hotel Collina I've stayed in before, on par with Hotel Alpin and believe it or not even better than the 4 star boutique Dom hotel that feels formal and cold unlike the old Dom I came to stay at in 1980s and 1990s on school trips with PlayStation in each room they cornered the school market that has been taken by the Hostel 4000 now. I'd recommend it overall but just be aware it is not in the centre of the village.

We motored from Zurich and were picked up from the car park by hotel staff. This is a small, family run hotel situated in a quiet area about 15 minutes from the centre and ski lifts. The local 'electric bus' stop is a very short walk away. (The bus does pass the hotel but doesn't stop outside) We received a warm, friendly reception on arrival. Our rooms were on the second floor and these were comfortably furnished and good night's sleeps were enjoyed. There was a problem with the lift not working on the first day but this was rectified. The dinner menu is limited but we did have one meal there which was enjoyable. Breakfasts are typically european but if you have a non-skier looking for lunch this wasn't available. It did seem that the owners had only very recently taken over but they were very helpful though out our short stay.

A perfectly lovely three star hotel. Quiet. Clean. Well maintained. Breakfast perfectly adequate, choice of breads, jams, cheeses and hams. Yogurt, Müsli and a big bowl of fruit. Good coffee and a choice care of Nespresso. If bacon and eggs are your thing, you need to spend more and go elsewhere. Good sized rooms and clean renovated bathrooms with hairdryer. Excellent WiFi in the rooms. Other reviewers have mentioned the hotel being a little out of Saas Fee centre, which is true. Maybe a 15 minute walk to the Alpin Express lift, not fun in ski boots and a slog at the end of a hard day on the pistes. But the Waldvogel bus stop is right by the hotel, with service every 30 minutes at the weekend and more frequent during the week. The owners are lovely. They answer questions they must have been asked a million times with no hint of boredom. All in all, fantastic value for a 3 star base in Saas Fee and I would certainly recommend the hotel and be happy to come back here.

Very good. Hosts very helpful and informative. Christmas dinner with the other residents was a nice touch. Though slightly out of the centre, the walk is easy or the Saas Fee village train is available on a regular basis. Ski locker is next to the ski school meeting point so no need to carry them around. The whole atmosphere - in winter - is just a wonderland.
