Hotel-Restaurant Bärgsunnu

We stayed in Saas Grund for a few nights in winter and wanted to have a traditional Walliser meal. We ate the most delicious Alpenrosti at Hotel Bärgsunnu and enjoyed the lovely hospitality of the owners. The venue was very warm and homely and we would certainly recommend that any visitor try this delightful hotel and restaurant.

We stayed in the Romantica apartments which are in a separate building behind the hotel (same owners). The apartment was perfect - spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed. Lovely hot power shower! Quiet at night time. Free parking. The hosts were very friendly and we often ate dinner in the hotel restaurant - 3 hearty courses and at affordable prices. Location was great - close to the Hohsas lift and the pub. 5-10 minute walk into the centre of the village. Bus stop right outside and the buses and lifts are all free which is just amazing. Highly recommended. Thank you for having us! :-)

The prize quality balance of this hotel is excellent. In Switzerland, on a great mountain, close to the skislopes with kids. Being able to take the shuttle any time of the day back and forth to the ski slopes was great. Though walking to the lift was also not a problem. The food twice a day was also very doable. Especially nicely surprised by the Breakfast buffet. The biggest surprise was the drinks bill we got at the end of the week, where we discovered we also were paying for tab water. This is something the owner could work on, in terms of communication.

We chose Bargsunnu for a hiking holiday. The hotel is in a good location, is clean and well cared for, with a new addition to the restaurant with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The generous breakfast buffet included a number of delicious local cheeses, meats, breads and preserves. The Wednesday night barbeque was superb and is highly recommended. This is a family-owned hotel with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Im neu renovierten Restaurant haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Cordon-Bleu waren überragend gut. Am zweiten Abend hatten wir Pizza. Die waren etwas weniger lecker. Da ist noch etwas verbesserungs Potential.
