TUI BLUE Angora Beach

Lovely hotel, such a calm and relaxing place. The whole place is super clean and well looked after. All the greenery and flowers are lovely. Plenty of places to sunbathe during the day and the sunbeds with cushions are comfy. Room and bathroom are a decent size and nicely decorated although the bed and pillows were a little hard for my preference. Liked that the accommodation was in small blocks of just four rooms. Food was always good quality and cooked well but choices were a bit more limited compared to other Tui Blue hotels we have stayed in. The snack bar was nice for a change at lunch times. Drinks were fine, beer was always cold, local spirits were drinkable but cocktails were always a bit too sweet for me. The hotel is very remote with only a couple of supermarkets nearby. We went on the boat trip booked through Tui and I would recommend this, it was very good and a full day out. A couple of nights had a proper show on as the entertainment and these were really good. Other nights it was a little quiet as not much was going on. Overall a good week away but I may have struggled to stay longer due to how remote it was, the entertainment and the food choices. I would definitely recommend it for a short break to relax and get away from it all.

I’ve rated this 5 not because it’s got 20 pools ,11 restaurants. It’s small and very friendly . The staff to the guy that puts the sunbeds out. Are friendly . It’s a little oasis . Rooms are not huge . Traditional wood carving. Super huge shower. Small blocks just 2 levels. The terrapins are noisy buggers . Sam is the entertainment . He takes Pilates class, water atomic is very fun with him, he also does the quiz etc. And plays pool with guests he’s a real asset. All the staff are friendly. The food is amazing .There’s not much around the hotel which I find a good thing.the new sunbeds and mattresses are comfortable. Its beds are comfortable too.its clean and very friendly we just love it .

The hotel itself is beautiful — very clean, modern, and clearly well maintained, with staff constantly cleaning throughout the day. Our room (211) with a private pool was perfect and absolutely worth upgrading for. We had sun from late morning until sunset, so we could enjoy the main pool during the day and relax privately in the afternoon. Housekeeping was excellent, and the room always smelt amazing after being cleaned. We stayed for our honeymoon, and the hotel made a lovely effort by decorating both our room and our table in the à la carte restaurant, which was a really thoughtful touch. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, the sunbeds were very comfortable, I had a massage at the spa and it was excellent, one of the best I’ve had, even as a massage therapist myself. The à la carte restaurant was good and definitely the highlight food-wise. However, the biggest disappointment was the main buffet restaurant, and I’m honestly surprised by how many reviews praise the food. There was plenty of variety, but most dishes were either bland, overcooked, undercooked, or had strange flavour combinations. Vegetables were often poorly cooked, and many dishes lacked seasoning entirely. We were told this was because they “cater for everyone and a lot of people don’t like seasoning or salt and pepper”but with labelled dishes, guests can easily avoid flavours they don’t like, so not sure how that would of been an issue especially as the loosely Mexican inspired night seemed to actually have flavour and spices. Breakfast was especially disappointing. The beans were consistently undercooked, which I raised as a concern as this can actually be unsafe raw beans are toxic. The omelette station and crepes were the best options. Lunch was fresher overall, and the snack bar was decent, though inconsistent from day to day. They have a 24/7 snack fridge in reception with sandwich’s and they seem to think parsley is a type of salad lead not a herb. We also found timing mattered. If you arrived at dinner right when service opened, the food was warmer. Drinks and cocktails were another weak point. There was very little consistency between bar staff, with some drinks containing barely any alcohol and others far too much, we witnessed a lot of drinks being sent back. Staff were friendly, but communication could sometimes be difficult. One uncomfortable moment was when I asked the TUI rep if there was anywhere local to eat she told us no and asked why so we mentioned the food wasn’t great. Instead of simply taking the feedback and passing it on to the relevant staff, we were brought directly into the restaurant to explain the issues to management, which felt awkward and unnecessary. A useful tip: avoid the hotel mini market as it’s extremely overpriced. Abone Market just outside the hotel is much cheaper and the owner is very friendly. (I do think he makes up the prices as he goes along but it’s still a fair price and half the price of the hotel market.) Overall, this hotel excels in cleanliness, rooms, spa treatments, and atmosphere, which is why I’m still giving it 4 stars. But the food and drinks were unfortunately well below the standard I’ve experienced at other TUI BLUE hotels.

Easy transfer from airport through a mountain range and then you see the bay! Hotel is a hidden oasis through a beautiful wooden doorway, we were greeted with juice and a coffee and the check in was very quick. None of the wristbands as this is for adults! Our room was clean, airy and more than adequate for our weeks stay, coffee and tea replenished daily and the mini bar was use and not replaced unless you pay. We loved the peace and quiet of the area (including the 5 am call to prayers). The food was very good and had everything for every diet but was of a very good quality for a buffet style dinner. The culinarium dinner was of a very high standard and 4 courses and you could have the local wines or pay for a better wine to make the dinner a bit more special. The pool area was cleaned daily and during the day bins were emptied and glasses collected, bar staff were great as were all the staff at this resort. Always found a lounger although the usual early birds away got there before the pool opened which happens everywhere. The beach just did not appeal to us we like a white sandy beach but this did not deflect the fact we just wanted a quiet drop and flop holiday to read eat sleep and relax. The evening entertainment was ok but not our scene we just enjoyed an evening drink after dinner which was great with the cocktails on offer and the guys up in the bar were great. Overall we loved this place and would visit again sometime.
