Returned from Zanzibar ( to Italy) five days ago and suddenly plummeted into winter. Although the warmth of the island is still on my skin. In my eyes there is still the brightness of the sun, the reflection of the white coral sand and the twinckle of the turqoise crystal water. They are not just memories, they are feeling impressed in the mind and soul. The Mora resort is on the wide long stretch of Muyuni beach of the east coast of Zanzibar. Not only the beach is very beautiful, the sea almost always calm, but there is the fascinating tidal phenomenon; the sea comes and goes every few hours, the breathing of the ocean. Walking along the beach late morning, when the tide is at its lowest, you can see beautiful starfishes and lots of seaurchins ( therefore walk carefully, or better wear reef shoes). Just in front of the resort there is Mnembe island where i went for a wonderful morning for snorkeling ( full of colourful fishes) I even saw the dolphins. Although the sailing on a big original dhow ,was nice an calm, the site was a bit too crowded, nonetheless stunning. The atmosphere in the resort is relaxed and calm. Surrounded by beautiful well kept gardens, through which one can walk along easy paths. There is a lot of space, starting from the large hall, with very high ceiling which gives a wonderful welcome on arrival. With four restaurants you are spoilt for choice and in each one the food is delicious. Even in the self service restaurant there is a lot of choice, starting with a breakfast full of savouries, eggs, pancakes, croissants, fruit, coffee, teas, all meals attented by very attentive, kind, smily waiters/ waitresses. There is also an icecream parlour, one bar by the pool, one near the beach. All food, drink, juices are prime quality. My room with a balcony was large, with a very wide comfortable bed, big bathroom, well working air conditioning, mini bar, safety box. Everywhere really clean. This is a magnificent place to stay in Zanzibar, but what makes it superlative is the staff, so caring, nice, efficient and well trained. There is always a lot to do if you want to, if not, just relax on the beach under the umbrella with a book and a drink. I would warmly recommend The Mora resort.
Dobrá lokace, skvělé místo, moře nádherné, kapku větší odliv
We stayed at the Mora hotel for our honeymoon in Zanzibar and our experience was nothing short of outstanding. The service we received from kind hearted people like Wales, Emmanuel, Rosemarry, Victor and Omar was exceptional. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we were always taken care of. The food in all the different restaurants was fantastic and a good variety for an all inclusive. There were so many cool activities and events planned throughout the week and they make it super easy to book and not miss them. Rooms were cleaned twice daily and the one we booked was spacious and comfortable. We had a very relaxing, romantic and fun moment that we will never forget!

My wife and I arrived in Zanzibar for a rest after a 5-day safari. The hotel is pleasant, but the staff are exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. After a late arrival, we ate and went to bed. The following morning, there was torrential rain, and unfortunately, it flooded extensively (this is the 1st time it's happened), but the staff were quick to clear the compound and reception. It was at this point that I ventured out on my balcony to admire the "ocean view" and then noticed the obvious error in the description. So, amid all the chaos, I went up to reception, and the issue was quickly sorted out, with the added bonus of a room upgrade. So again, I was very impressed with the staff. So overall, the stay was good, the pools, bar and restaurants were very good. I don't consider the rooms to be 5-star. The toiletries in the bathroom were not great, and the bowl for the toilet brush was missing, so the brush was left on the floor. We had to ask several times for hand towels to be replaced and were then given small flannels. The lever to switch the shower from the main head to the movable one was too stiff to move and clearly had never been moved. I am not someone who would normally stay in all-inclusive places, but to be fair, this is a good option given the surrounding area. But having travelled around the island, there are other places I would stay when we visit Zanzibar again. In summary, the staff, facilities and restaurants are all good - excellent, the rooms are nice but lack the attention to detail I expect from a 5* hotel.
