A real Gem. Overall amazing resort especially for couples who really needs privacy and proper relaxation. Restaurants: Food at speciality restaurants are amazing, the moment you walk through their doors you will feel and experience the atmosphere and tasty food of another country right here on the beach of Zanzibar. The buffet restaurant food is super tasty but on the sad side...it lacks a bit of variety especially at lunch time. Bar: The bar areas are very good, extremely friendly, helpful staff. The menu might seems limited but the qaulity and taste of the cocktails are superb. Definitely the best in Zanzibar. The Mora with their 24 hr Food Menu complimented by a proper free (unlimited) ice cream stop shop makes a true island holiday experience amazing. The Pause Spa - Excellent excellent. Private daybed - Amazing experience, definitely worth it. Private beach dinner - Never felt so spoilt before. Jikan Teppanyake experience - a Once in a lifetime experience. Definitely a must do. Snorkeling: one of the best areas to stay as the resort overlook the famous Mnemba island and surrounding. The 'Not so exciting'... Our experience of reception/reservations/guest relations were quit very unorganized. We requested for possible upgrades(2 weeks before check in) and was answered only 6 days later and recommended the Romantic Bliss Package. (Please see attached photo). I immediately agree and was supplied with payment link. I complete payment the same day and receive a fully payed invoice of added package.(48hrs before check in). On day of arrival we were welcomed and seated in reception area with cold fresh towels and a welcome drink prepared for us. Resort tax payment follows where after my request about our added romatic bliss package came as a surprise for everyone at reception. After showing proof of communication i was requested to email guests relations with the proof of payment. I asked about the first amenity which is the Welcome Sparkle ('complimentary bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival to toast the beginning of your romantic retreat'). We was informed they will send it to our room the next day. Later that evening we was informed that we will also receive the voucher for other package amenities in our room the next day. 2 days later we went to reception as nothing was received as promised and we was billed for our private daybed. We was supplied with our voucher and was informed we did received a welcome drink on arrival. (Keep in mind at that time they was unaware of the additional package and everyone else also get the same welcome drink). They also said we will get the promised sparkling wine with the private dinner night...we received sparkling wine, yes, but the normal which is part of all inclusive package. Not special arrival sparkling wine nor the premium paired one as described in Package amenities. (Seaside Culinary Delight: Savor a special beach dinner crafted just for you, featuring a sumptuous three-course lobster menu paired with a bottle of premium sparkling wine.). We were taking for a ride....that is our experience. Housekeeping: Rooms are not clean properly. Sometimes towels missing, no toilet paper and coffee pods was never replaced. Some staff at Horizon Restaurant not friendly at all and extremely slow. Last but most certainly the most important.... i had 3 allergic reactions(allergic to shell fish) at the Muyuni Beach restaurant without even order seafood. Last experience was a prawn tentackle on my pizza( see photo). It is the little things in life that makes your stay amazing or make you leave with a sad heart. We stopped asked as there was always different excuses.

Fantastic show with lots of interaction and fun. Jhun was a fantastic chef - delicious food and plentiful. Tailored to food allergies / preferences. Great holiday memory for families. Tequilla bomb is a great fun way to finish the meal. Highly recommended!

Amazing stay at the Mora Zanzibar. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here for 6 nights in May 2025. We’re already planning our next trip! Our room was spacious, beautiful, and clean. The bathroom was lovely, especially the his and hers sinks. The grounds were beautiful and well-kept. There were many activities scheduled / available throughout the day and evening. We enjoyed playing tennis and the scheduled soccer games. The food was great quality and variety. They take allergies and dietary restrictions seriously. We enjoyed the Horizon buffet and the specialty restaurants, especially the one with Asian cuisine. I wish the restaurants offered more natural juices, but they had plenty of drinks overall. The spa was amazing. My husband and I had a couples massage with Khadija and Agape, which was the best of our lives. We even scheduled a second massage with them before we left. The spa accommodations and facilities were lovely. The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful and the service felt personalized despite the hotel’s size. Special shoutout to Clara at the front desk, Mercy and Tabitha at the food/bar area, and Agape and Khadija for the massages. The Mora app was a game-changer. It allowed us to book spa, dinner, and tennis court reservations, view scheduled activities, and see restaurant and area open/close times. A few nitpicky items (sharing because I think it’s genuine feedback for the hotel) 1- The outdoor (and some indoor) restaurant areas are plagued by flies, which people swat at constantly. The hotel staff uses coffee to keep them away, but you must ask first. 2- We need more air-conditioned areas as the heat can be overwhelming. 3- WORMS - There are many creatures on the hotel grounds, including lizards, ants, spiders, and cats. The worst was the worms. Our corner room (1098) had a linen stopper that didn’t cover the full length of the door, so worms crawled in our room several mornings and evenings. I’m terrified of them from prior experiences, so this is my biggest complaint. Despite these minor issues, we highly recommend this hotel. Our trip to Zanzibar was truly amazing.
