Canale Hotel & Suites

I am going to keep this review short and sweet. The customer service at this hotel is the best I have experienced during 50 years of travelling around the world. Small but beautiful hotel. Just do it.

Can only agree with all the other reviews about this hotel. From the moment you arrive you are treated like a precious member of the family. It’s quiet, unassuming and welcoming. We booked a jacuzzi room and were upgraded to a suite…The room is beautiful and smells divine as do the public areas, everything is clean and has a new feeling about it. The breakfast is wonderful and plentiful but it’s the staff who are the real stars…we don’t want to single any of them out and the hotel owners should be very proud of each and every one of their staff. They arranged hire car, boat trip, taxis, special meal to celebrate our stay and made suggestions for other trips. We truly did not want to leave and the hugs we received when our taxi arrived felt genuine and warm. We cannot express just how wonderful this hotel is. A couple of tips ….. the beach bar is no longer free and at €40 euros for lounges and umbrella is expensive if you did it every day….. hire a car and find your own beaches it works out just as cheap and you get to see the beautiful island. The roads are easy to navigate and empty most of the time….. walk into the town approximately 5 minutes strolling and you’ll be spoilt for choice for bars and restaurants….. although the Vine right next door to Canale does serve stunning food and are very knowledgeable about wine so well worth a visit…….. If the world wasn’t so big we would return time and time again to Canale so do yourselves a favour and book soon!!!!

From the moment we arrived at this hotel we were really impressed with the care and attention to detail from the staff, especially Maria on reception and Angela who looked after us at breakfast. We were bed and breakfast, and Angela made sure our breakfast was amazing with so much beautiful food to choose from. We weren’t just given the key to our room when we first arrived we were taken there and shown where everything was and how it worked. The staff were so friendly and attentive, and our room was beautiful, clean and fresh. Our view was of the beautiful bay and the ferries and passing cruise ships. This is a small hotel with a sister hotel a few hundred metres up the road on the same side which was bigger and which we had access to their facilities or restaurant. My wife visited their spa which she said was absolutely amazing. The pool area at the Canale is quite small but very tasteful and most days we had it entirely to ourselves. All the time we had staff checking we were comfortable or if we needed anything. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The reception staff arranged everything we needed like trips, spa’s or just honest informed advice on where to eat and drink. Location was amazing with the ferries a few minutes walk, lovely restaurants and bars along the sea front and the main town and centre a ten minute stroll. Kefalonia is such a beautiful island with so much to see. The hotel arranged an island tour for us with a guy called Tolis who was funny, friendly and took us to some amazing places and we would really recommend him. This hotel is immaculate with a dedicated housekeeping staff that really take pride in their work. In summary we have been to many hotels and although this was one of the smallest we have stayed in, it was probably with all things considered one of the best. We had a truly amazing holiday, so thank you to every member of staff who made this possible

We have just come back from Kefalonia and can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. From the minute you arrive you feel welcomed and cared for. Everyone is so friendly and will do anything they can to help. Breakfast is delicious and the team helped with all our bookings. We were recommended the best restaurants for different types dining and discovered some gems. Can’t wait to return and 100% recommend.

This was, without a doubt, one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in, and we’ve been fortunate enough to stay in some fantastic hotels across Europe and worldwide. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every member of staff genuinely cared about making our stay perfect, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Everyone was friendly, approachable, and always willing to help with a smile. One thing that really stood out was how easy it was to communicate with the hotel via WhatsApp. Whether we had a question, needed assistance, or wanted recommendations, they responded quickly and efficiently, making the whole experience effortless. The food (breakfast) was also outstanding, with an excellent variety of high-quality options that catered to every meal. Everything we tried was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. It’s rare to find a hotel that excels in every area, but this one truly does. Outstanding service, fantastic food, seamless communication, and a team that goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would recommend it to anyone looking for a genuinely exceptional stay.
