Cabana Blu Hotel & Suites

We stayed at Cabana Blu Resort for 5 nights, and unfortunately our experience did not live up to our expectations, and we don’t think we’ll be returning. While the hotel itself looks lovely, there were a number of issues that affected our stay, and several things advertised on the website did not match what we experienced. One of the biggest disappointments was the dining. The website does not make it clear that you can only use one of the à la carte restaurants during your stay. We were never told this at check-in either. We had expected to have the choice of eating in the three à la carte restaurants throughout our holiday, but instead we ended up eating in the buffet for 4 out of our 5 nights, which was very disappointing. The information about drinks was also misleading. The website states that drinks in the restaurants are only chargeable after 11pm, yet we were charged €3 for a bottle of water at around 9pm. This should either be made clear on the website or explained when guests arrive.In the end though they did refund us the €3 the money wasn’t the point it was more the principle. The food quality in the Mediterranean restaurant was also poor. We had to send the tiramisu back because it was so hard you genuinely couldn’t bite through it, and the sweet potato that came with the chicken dish tasted like puréed baby food. However the salad in there was nice & the prawns were also nice & the bread was to. Our room also had several maintenance issues throughout the holiday. The shower had very low pressure, which we initially thought meant it was broken. When maintenance came to inspect it, they accidentally broke the curtains, although these were thankfully repaired later that evening. The mirror light was also faulty and flashed continuously throughout the night on our second-to-last night, making it extremely difficult to sleep. Reception told us they couldn’t fix it because the maintenance staff had gone home and there were no other rooms available. The only suggestion was to try another key card in case it was an electrical issue, but this made no difference. The following day we asked again for it to be repaired and were told a replacement part had to be ordered from another island, so we had no choice but to put up with it. If someone had epilepsy or another condition triggered by flashing lights, this could have been a very serious safety issue. Another issue was that the hotel ran out of decaffeinated coffee. I cannot drink caffeine due to a medical condition, so this meant there was no suitable coffee available for me. The pool area was frustrating because sunbeds were almost always fully occupied by towels left on them for long periods, yet nothing was done about it. On top of that, some of the gazebo sunbeds cost an additional €25 for two people. This extra charge wasn’t made clear on the website or explained on arrival. The most serious issue of our stay was with the bar. I ordered mocktails on two separate occasions. The first time, my friend specifically asked for the mocktail version, but I immediately realised after taking a mouthful that it contained alcohol. I returned to the bar, pointed directly to the mocktail on the menu and reordered it, yet I was served another alcoholic version. The drinks were prepared behind the bar where we couldn’t see what was being made, but it was obvious from the taste. This was far more than an inconvenience. I have chronic liver disease and am currently recovering from hepatitis, and I have been medically advised not to drink alcohol. Serving alcohol when a mocktail was ordered could have had extremely serious consequences for my health. When I reported this to reception, they apologised but initially said there was nothing else they could do, which was disappointing given how serious the mistake was. Finally, we also had concerns about security. The room doors display that the room is “checked in”, making it obvious when guests are staying in the room. We felt this was a significant safety concern, as it clearly identifies occupied rooms to anyone walking past. To be fair, after raising our concerns, the hotel did make an effort to improve the situation. They kindly offered us a complimentary 20-minute massage, which was a lovely gesture. The spa itself is excellent, and Georgia, the therapist, was friendly, professional and gave a fantastic treatment. They also offered us an additional meal in the Greek à la carte restaurant, despite us having already used our original allocation. The food there was good. Management also told us they would update the website to make the information clearer and less misleading for future guests, which we appreciated. Overall, we leave feeling disappointed with the money we have paid. There were too many maintenance problems, poor communication about what was and wasn’t included, unexpected extra charges, disappointing food and, most importantly, a serious error that put my health at risk. While we appreciated the efforts made by the hotel towards the end of our stay to address some of our concerns, we believe significant improvements are still needed before we would consider returning.

We have just returned from our holiday at Cabana Blu, and we couldn't be happier with our experience!From the moment you walk into the hotel, you immediately feel that you're in great hands. Our check-in was handled by Mrs. Pola, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and took the time to explain everything to us. Shortly afterwards, one of the lovely bartenders greeted us with a refreshing welcome drink, which was a wonderful touch.When we entered our room, we were impressed by its modern design and spotless cleanliness. Everything was beautifully maintained and exceeded our expectations.During our stay, we had the opportunity to dine at all three a la carte restaurants, and every meal was outstanding. Our favorite was the Mediterranean restaurant. A special thank you to Fotis for recommending such delicious dishes we truly enjoyed every bite! On Friday, we attended the Greek Night, which was full of music, dancing, and a fantastic atmosphere. We were also pleasantly surprised by the buffet. Before arriving, we had some concerns, but we can honestly say it was one of the best hotel buffets we have ever experienced during our travels around the world. The variety, quality, and taste of the food were exceptional. What truly makes this hotel special is its people. Every member of the staff was warm, friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. From the very first moment, they made us feel like part of their family. Although this was our first visit to Kos, Cabana Blu made us fall in love with the island, and we are already looking forward to coming back next year! Until then, I'll be enjoying my yogurt with the delicious honey we received as a farewell gift at check out a sweet reminder of an unforgettable holiday. We booked Cabana Blu Hotel because of its excellent reviews and high rating, so we arrived with high expectations. Unfortunately, our initial experience was disappointing for a number of reasons. The biggest issue was that the hotel advertises itself as all-inclusive, but there were significant restrictions that were not made clear during the booking process. For example, guests staying for five nights are only permitted one visit to the à la carte restaurant. This is important information that should be made clear before booking, as it has a noticeable impact on the holiday experience. When we used our allocated visit to the à la carte restaurant, we were also charged for bottled water. Charging for water in an all-inclusive restaurant was not something we expected, and throughout the first part of our stay it felt as though there were several opportunities where guests were encouraged to pay extra despite having booked an all-inclusive package. Another frustration was the lack of available sunbeds. Many were reserved with towels for hours at a time without being used, making it difficult to find anywhere to sit. At the same time, six gazebos remained empty because they required an additional €25 per day to use, which added to the frustration. We also had the serious issue of being served alcoholic drinks on two occasions after specifically ordering mocktails. This is a mistake that should never happen, particularly for guests who are intentionally avoiding alcohol. We were also concerned that the panel outside each room appeared to indicate whether the room was occupied or vacant. As guests, this felt like an unnecessary privacy and security concern. Initially, when we raised these issues at reception, we felt our concerns were dismissed, which left us disappointed. However, after speaking with Vivi from Guest Relations, the situation improved significantly. She took the time to listen to our concerns, acknowledged the issues we had experienced, and genuinely tried to make things right. As a gesture of goodwill, the hotel offered us two complimentary spa treatments and access to additional premium drinks for the remainder of our stay. We appreciated this effort, and it helped us feel that our feedback had finally been taken seriously. While these gestures did not change the problems we experienced earlier in our holiday, they did improve our overall impression of how the hotel responded once our concerns reached the right person. Overall, I still believe the hotel needs to be much more transparent about what is included in its all-inclusive package and should do more to prevent unnecessary extra charges and improve consistency in customer service. That said, I would like to thank Vivi for listening to our concerns and for doing her best to improve the remainder of our stay.

Had an amazing stay at Cabana White with my boys on our holiday. The whole vibe was exactly what we were looking for great atmosphere, relaxing during the day and fun at night.A big thank you to the girls at the reception. They were always welcoming, friendly, and happy to help with anything, which made our stay even better. Special thanks to Alex for the incredible cocktails. Every drink was perfectly made, and he always had great recommendations. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! If you're planning a boys' holiday and want a place with great service, a cool atmosphere, and fantastic drinks, Cabana Blu is a great choice. We'll definitely be back!
