I'll try and give an honest review here, July 2026 - First impression at reception, wow this is a nice hotel. Air con, fragrance in the air, smart and friendly staff etc. We were also informed we had been given a free room upgrade, though not sure what that was I can only assume from a "Cozy retreat" room to the next size up perhaps, either way gratefully received thanks. Good start. Once we'd settled the reality is the rooms are nice and have working air-con (a little noisy but not enough to be a problem) which realistically we had on for the whole time we were there. On closer inspection the standard of decor (painting etc) is a bit poor and tired/worn in places, particularly in our toilet, but the overall impression is it's still pretty good. Well stocked mini-bar which was topped up daily. Ironing board and security safe were useful. We had mosquito sprays and a plug-in mosquito repellent but still got bitten quite a lot during the night, go well armed with repellants/plug ins if you can. Small but useful balcony with table and two chairs, spoilt only by neighbouring occupants cigarette smoke drifting constantly across, NOT the hotels fault, it happens everywhere sadly. The complex and grounds are nicely laid out and like the rooms look good, just a little tired and worn in parts on closer inspection. Surprised to find a tiny pretty little Chapel/Church amongst the various villas, worth a little visit to see it when you pass by. The usual sunbed issue is like it is everywhere, not enough of them at peak times and people "reserving" them early morning or maybe the (evening before?) meaning you'll probably never get one of those in the best locations unless you're one of those people who do that! Large clean towels were available in good supply pool-side. The two pools were happily at a pleasant temperature, unlike some of the freezing cold ones I've experienced at other hotels meaning these could actually be used and enjoyed by all. Next to the pools are for me the best part of the holiday- The small Italian cafe/restaurant, and the pool bar. A large range of help-yourself cold cans in a fridge plus full bars service of pretty much any drink, slushy, or cocktail you could ask for. I have to make mention of some staff here; POOL BAR - Eleonora was fantastic, always happy, friendly and professional any time of day despite being fairly constantly busy and long working days. A total asset to the hotel. Likewise Alex, friendly and very helpful, nothing too much trouble. These two made it a pleasure to be around the pool. TESORO - Italian trattoria, Stella was the stand out member of staff. All staff were good but they gave the impression they were just doing their job. Stella however went the extra mile and was noticeably the most friendly. The small but nice range of food made a change from the main dining area further away and the pizza and pasta dishes were just right for light pool-side midday dining. Check the opening hours carefully so you don't get caught out and miss being able to get food. The nearby beach is pebble not sand just so you know (not a complaint) and it's a very large and wide open stretch. Between the pools and beach is a "grab-and-go" cabin with Giros, fries, pasta and sandwiches etc, very much fast food convenience style. The giros were actually pretty good, only used this once in 5 days though. Restaurant wise we couldn't get a table at the Meze due to our other bookings and their availability. We did get a table at the Yellow Sea asian restaurant. Food was very nice though I didn't actually get what I'd ordered! No big deal, what I got was still very good! Choose one item from each category- starter, main, dessert. The Island is the main buffet style restaurant for breakfasts and general food during the day. Standard buffet food, pretty wide choices for most tastes you'll always find something you'll like. The fresh crusty bread is particularly good and lots of fruit. The only minor issue is some of it isn't hot but you'll soon get the hang of what to have and what not to. The only issue with the Island is the website and info describes it as 24/7 dining but it's NOT, check opening hours on all restaurants so you don't miss out. On our last day we had breakfast as normal, then went for lunch at the Italian only to find it had closed earlier, and then missed out on the evening meal too as it didn't open til 6pm and we had to be in reception ready for the airport bus so no food from breakfast onwards because we'd not checked properly (our fault really). The Honaki ice cream Gelateria was closed permanently for some reason so unable to use it (not really a major issue, but would have been nice to try it). SUMMARY- So to sum up did we enjoy it? Yes. Would we consider coming again? Yes. It's like many other similar hotels/resorts, classed as 5 star but a bit rough round the edges in parts so it's more like a 4 star trying to be 5. That sound like a criticism but overall unless you're really picky you likely enjoy your stay here. The sunbed issues happen everywhere.
A beautiful resort made truly special by its incredible staff We have just returned from a wonderful week at AULUS Lindos Rhodes, Curio Collection by Hilton, and have had such a lovely stay. The resort and rooms are beautiful and look just as they do online. The food was delicious, including the à la carte restaurants, with the Greek meze being a particular highlight. The drinks offering was also excellent, with branded spirits, a choice of branded beers and a daily stocked minibar that could be tailored to your preferences. The spa is tranquil and beautiful and is definitely worth a visit. However, what really makes this resort special is the staff. Everyone we encountered was kind, welcoming and incredibly accommodating. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. We were celebrating my partner’s birthday, and a special thank you must go to Thalia, the Guest Experience Manager, who went above and beyond to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. I have a hidden physical disability, and Thalia was exceptionally understanding and considerate. She made it clear that she was available should we need anything, while still allowing us the space to relax and enjoy our holiday. She also made sure I was comfortable around the pool and understood the challenges that can come with having a physical disability that is not immediately visible. Her approach was incredibly thoughtful and respectful, and it was very much appreciated. When she found out it was my partner’s birthday, she arranged flowers and a huge birthday cake for our restaurant evening. The team brought it out and sang to us, which was such a lovely surprise and a really special memory from our holiday. A special mention also goes to Sirii from the guest experience team, who was always smiling and happy to help. Ellenora at the bar deserves a mention too. She shared my love of Amaretto Sours and enthusiastically and creatively curated the perfect drink for me! We also had lovely conversations with Ellenora, Alex at the bar, and the team at the Greek meze restaurant, especially Stella and Foteini. They were genuinely interested in our stay, happy to chat, and shared information about local traditions and culture. Their warmth made the resort feel like a home away from home. The staff truly are the best part of this beautiful resort, and their hard work, kindness and genuine care should be recognised. We would definitely recommend AULUS Lindos to anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful and welcoming holiday. We would love to return. Also LGBTQ friendly/ally.
We stayed at Aulus as a family of four for two weeks this July. The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained and set in lovely surroundings. The large pool area is split into three sections, and there’s also a private beach with a range of water sports available. The hotel is quite isolated, with only a small mini market around a five-minute walk away. If you like to explore, I’d definitely recommend hiring a car. Taxis into Lindos cost around €30 each way, although the hotel does provide a pre-bookable shuttle service on Mondays and Thursdays. During our two-week stay we never struggled to find sunbeds by either the pool or the beach, and we certainly didn’t need to be up at the crack of dawn reserving them! I can imagine this may become more of an issue during peak school holiday periods, but it wasn’t something that affected us. Our room was spacious and comfortably accommodated our family of four. It had everything we needed. We had a few minor niggles, mainly not always receiving enough clean towels each day, but a quick call to housekeeping and they were delivered promptly every time. The dining options were excellent. We had no problems securing reservations at any of the à la carte restaurants, all of which were fantastic. A special mention has to go to Alvin in the Asian restaurant – such a genuinely lovely person with the most infectious smile. ❤️ The buffet offered plenty of variety, and we always found something enjoyable. The poolside snack hut was exceptional, serving freshly made gyros, souvlaki, burgers and more throughout the day. The drinks were good, although I’d say they’re not quite what you’d expect from a typical 5-star resort. Many of the cocktails are pre-mixed. That wasn’t an issue for me as I’m more of a wine drinker, but it’s worth mentioning for cocktail lovers. Another huge thank you to Elenora and Alex at the pool bar, who always served everyone with a smile despite the incredibly long, hot days. Their service never faltered. I’d also like to give a special shout-out to Stavros at the main bar. Always welcoming, friendly and happy to chat, he made everyone feel at home and was a real credit to the hotel. Evening entertainment was fairly low-key, with DJs, live music and Greek nights twice a week, which suited the relaxed atmosphere perfectly. The hotel also made a real effort during the World Cup, showing the matches on a large screen and putting out snacks for guests to enjoy. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, friendly and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring guests had a wonderful holiday. We were asked for feedback several times throughout our stay, and we always felt comfortable being honestly constructive about the few areas we felt could be improved. Overall, we had a wonderful, relaxing two-week holiday. Is Aulus on the same level as some of the other Domes properties? In my opinion, no—but that’s reflected in the price. For what we paid, we felt it offered excellent value and we’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing all-inclusive stay in Rhodes.
After visiting the Aulus resort for 8 nights, we only have positive things to say, starting with all the amazingly friendly and kind staff in the bar and food halls and all throughout the resort we were met with smiles and thoughtful actions, Katarina, Christo and other managers who went above and beyond to make the experience personal. The resort overall was clean and tidy everywhere, the rooms were immaculate and cleaned daily, the employees looking after the rooms greeted us in the mornings and were happy to help us with little daily things which was a nice touch, even down to the beach which was kept well maintained, very tranquil with only late night music over the weekend it was the perfect place to unwind. We really enjoyed the Italian making the most of that almost every dinner time, and the Meze was a definite favourite. We look forward to visiting again and hopefully seeing you all again! Thank you Aulus for an amazing holiday!
Wow, what a difference one person can make to your holiday!! The Operations Manager, Katerina, was simply fantastic. If it wasn’t for her and her never-ending desire to help us, our holiday would have been terrible. Let me explain… The reception staff were, on our arrival, sour-faced and miserable looking. Prior to leaving the UK, we had requested a room close to our friends. When checking-in, we asked if we were near each other, they refused to answer the question. Turns out we were relatively close but here’s the issue… despite paying for the same room type as our friends, we had been given a lower standard room and the reception staff simply refused to believe us and tried, several times, to fob us off with “that’s the category you booked”. In stepped Katerina and the problem was sorted within 24 hours and we were moved to the room type we had paid for. Katerina then became our “go to” person and troubleshooter. She welcomed feedback, good and bad, and then set about resolving issues without fuss and with a great big smile. Thank you, Katerina, for everything you did. Room We had a Suite with Private Pool. Despite the initial issues with room allocation, the room we eventually got was great. It was very spacious, clean, had a lovely, relatively private garden area and private pool, as well as 2 sunbeds and a big daybed. The room was cleaned daily, to a good standard, and all of the cleaning staff seemed friendly. Restaurants The main buffet was ok, with standard all-inclusive fare. The hot food could have been hotter, but there was a good selection for adults and children. The salads and cold food were bountiful. All dishes were regularly topped up. Lots of choices, even though one of us was fairly fussy. The staff in this restaurant were ok, but nothing special, tables were slow to be cleared and we had to ask for drinks on several occasions. Note that there is a very limited choice of drinks available in this restaurant – water, soft drinks, beer or wine. The A la carte restaurants were excellent. The rooftop meze restaurant was our favourite in the evening. The Asian was also very good. You will need to book in advance for both. The Italian was our preferred venue for lunch, despite having a limited menu, it was all cooked fresh and was very tasty. A special mention here to all of the waiters and waitresses. They are fantastic. They were very welcoming and helpful. The reception and buffet restaurant staff could do with some training from the a la carte restaurant staff! Bars There’s one pool bar open in the day and one main bar open in the evenings. Both only ever have one person serving so expect to wait for service unless you time your arrival to perfection. There is no sunbed delivery service (although we did get a shot of vodka slushy one afternoon), but it’s only a short walk to the bar. The drink selection was good and everything was included, including named brands on bottled beers and spirits. Pool There’s one pool area but the pool itself is split into 3 sections, with one being for very young children. The pools aren’t massive and by the time we were coming home, they seemed to be overrun with children and inflatables. There is no adult only pool, so bear this in mind. There are not enough sunbeds and sun umbrellas around the pool and so this leads to the usual early morning bunfight for the best spots. There were notices attached to some umbrellas stating that beds left empty for more than 30 minutes would have their towels etc removed, but we never saw this enforced. Not sure how anyone would be expected to walk to the restaurant and eat lunch within 30 minutes, but there you go. Pool towels, whilst available, never seemed to arrive before 11am but were then regularly replenished throughout the day. If you plan to secure a sunbed first thing in the morning, remember to keep your towel from the day before! Beach The beach had loads of umbrellas and sunbeds but is stony and therefore seemed to be underused. The water was crystal clear and free of inflatables! Location About 1 hour drive from the airport, the hotel is in on the edge of a small resort about 20 minutes south of Lindos village. There isn’t much around the hotel grounds, so bear this in mind if you like to get out to explore the local area. The hotel does offer a complimentary shuttle to Lindos on Monday and Thursday evenings. It was great to get out of the hotel and eat some different food whilst sat in a rooftop restaurant. Conclusion Katerina saved our holiday. If it wasn’t for her support and input, I would not be able to recommend this hotel. It may have something to do with the recent change of owners as it was apparent in several areas that staff were getting used to things. This hotel would simply collapse without her. She was always smiling and willing to help, no matter what the query or issue. Would we go back? No. Would we recommend to others? Yes, if you go expecting the standard all-inclusive hotel. Is this hotel 5-star? Definitely not – it has a way to go

Definitely not – it has a way to go
I'll try and give an honest review here, July 2026 - First impression at reception, wow this is a nice hotel.
