Serenity Luxury Hotel Agrilia

Overall - This hotel is a great stay but not up to the expectations of what is advertised by the hotel or TUI. The hotel is split into two sites across a small access road. We stayed in what appeared to be a newer section. Positives - The room we booked was a double with inland view, terrace and whirlpool bath. The space you were given was amazing with a large room + bathroom, large balcony and a large rooftop garden. Breakfast was advertised as cold only however hot options were available. Negatives - Other than the large room we did not enjoy the remainder of the hotel experience. It’s n it in Laganos (20-30 minute walk) but was used as an overflow by younger groups who took over the pool area playing football, this consisted of booting footballs across the pool. It can be loud on a night with these groups going out drinking, returning or drinking on site. I felt it wasn’t very luxury boutique compared to other hotels we have stayed in whilst visiting Greece.

Difficult to find reception, when we did the guy was friendly and showed us to our room. The room looked nothing like the pictures and something felt dodgy, both the main and balcony door didn’t lock, the air conditioning didn’t work, the room smelt awful, felt more like I’d been kidnapped and put there than somewhere to relax. It was next to a building site, views terrible. The pool was green and wouldn’t dare go in it, Sunbeds dirty. Generally not clean, taps mouldy. We arrived about 9pm but couldn’t stay there we had to book another hotel sadly.

What a terrible hotel. How they can rate this as a 4 star hotel is a mystery. The hotel is not luxury and would not recommend this hotel. The floors in the room were concrete and not a single floor tile in sight. The shower was covered in limescale and green scum and in my opinion has not been cleaned since last season, if at all. Holes in the wall, rust coming through walls, filthy courtyard walls everywhere, the toilet flush buttons were a health hazard as they were peeling and dirty. The jacuzzi (as they call it) was simply a brick built bath at the rear of the room with no views and unappealing completely. All of the walls were filthy, the rear door would not lock and an egg chair suspended by a rusty chain. The room had approximately 6 sets of light switches in the room which made it impossible to figure out what swith turned what light on/off. Moving to the hotel amenities, the wooden sunbeds have seen better days. They appeared to be rotten and sagging, the pool was again just concrete with gravel which was a rough finish and very uncomfortable under foot and again the whole area could benefit from a coat of paint as this clearly hasn't been painted for ages. The breakfast food was cold and tasteless so never ate at the hotel again. I would not recommend this so called 4 star hotel to anyone and would personally rate this as a maximum 2 star hotel. The only good thing was it was away from the main Laganas strip so was fairly quiet apart from the groups of young people who were also staying there. I have included some photos to backup my arguments so you can judge for yourselves.

That’s sound tha. Good to go really. Might go back next week in all honesty. Genuinely best gaff been to in long time on a funky Friday.

Really enjoyed this holiday. We went just before the main season started. The whole place was lovely. Staff were very friendly. Hired a quad for a couple days from reception. We would definitely return. Zakynthos old town is beautiful and we also went to Keri. Beautiful island
