Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree

Visiting Mandai Wildlife reserve for the first time. The room was excellent with king sized bed. Air conditioning can be customized according to your needs. Window blinds can adjusted by button. Wonderful view of Seletar reservoir from roof top garden and pool. Only short coming was the hotel seems to short of staff during check in period on weekend, so waiting time was very long.

Location contributes to 0.5 star. It's near the zoo and other attractions. Atmosphere and room contributes to another 0.5 star, it was great. Service - if you are ready for no service or if you have low expectations, please book this place. Else, please spend your money somewhere else. Check-in - never fail to disappoint. Don't bother checking in until 4pm. Don't go there early, I've experienced it three times now. Service - forget it. The pool service is close to zero. Filthy plates lying on tables, smells bad. Don't bother expecting anything from house keeping. If you ask for any support, it will never come the first time. You will have to try another time or two before you get attended to. Don't bother at all. Personnel - rude. Overall, if you expect 4-5 star service. Don't. You won't get what you paid for. Value for money, probably first timers who have yet to experience it, would be an interesting try. But be ready. If you set your expectations to zero before you come, you will be happy. If you expect 4-5 star, be ready to be disappointed. Hang on tight, get ready for the ride.

An amazing, relaxing stay in jungle luxury. We were desperately sorry to leave. The rooftop pool is the perfect way to cool off after walking the rainforest boardwalk at the reservoir edge, with views over the treetops as swifts and swiftlets zoom around you and eagles glide just above. The eating at planters shed was top notch with the range of cuisine mouth-watering - really tough to choose! The spread at the breakfast buffet meant you weren’t hungry for the rest of the day! The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly, and Sophen was always stopping for a chat and a line of information about the resort, its ethos, development and purpose. An absolute pleasure and we can’t wait to return!

The hotel is great. The staff are friendly. Close to all parks.
