Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree

I stayed here with my husband and 2 kids, 11 and 14. We booked a luxury escapes package to stay here for 3 nights while we did all the zoo parks. It wasn’t cheap but then nowhere in Singapore is, so it wasn’t bad value with the LE package. . The hotel was very nice and I liked the drinks station in the lobby. I had booked two separate rooms but luckily the hotel gave us two connecting rooms, much appreciated. The guy at reception was quite cheerful. The rooms were nicely appointed, I liked the design and atmosphere. Can’t really complain about anything else room-wise except the tvs kept having to be reset to work (hold down the tv remote switch if this happens to you). I liked the little free gifts housekeeping gave us nightly. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, we liked the noodle station. I can imagine however that it would feel quite crowded when the hotel is full. The buffet is arranged around a relatively narrow aisle, and on our final morning (Saturday) it was definitely felt a bit tight. We also had dinner included in our package, which during the weeknights was semi buffet and weekends was full buffet. It was fine but not amazing, we probably would have elected to eat outside the hotel if dinner wasn’t included in our package. There are restaurants outside the hotel along a boardwalk including a Food Republic. The two complaints we did have about the hotel was the pool and the spa. The infinity pool is actually very beautiful with a lovely view. The major downside as probably already expressed in other reviews is the seriously limited space around the pool. I actually counted the number of loungers - 12. Which seems ridiculous for the size of the hotel and number of guests. They did put additional plastic chairs in whichever space they could cram some into. So unless you managed to snag a chair by some miracle, don’t expect much lounging poolside come the afternoon/evening. My husband and I tried the spa and had a very unusual welcome. After we were seated and given a welcome drink and cold towel, a therapist started arguing very loudly with the receptionist. They argued for a minute or two and then finally another staff member tried to get them into a back room However they seemed to get even louder when the door was finally closed. Needless to say it was an awkward start to our spa journey. Luckily the massage itself was very good and my therapist was lovely. My husband did remark on leaving - “good thing we didn’t get the angry therapist”. It certainly detracted from the ambiance and made it difficult to relax at the start. We were surprised that no one offered an apology either. Tip: the hotel has a free shuttle on the hour every hour to the other zoo parks that aren’t in walking distance. If you miss the shuttle, just walk to the main zoo complex, go down an escalator and catch the free m1/m2 bus - that comes more frequently.

My family and I were there recently for massage and the package came with an afternoon tea at Forage. We did not have a positive experience at the restaurant and we gave the feedback to the Spa Manager, Kathy. She was extremely apologetic and went way beyond our expectations to make up for the experience. We were impressed with how she made us feel welcome and heard. The massage therapists were generally skilful and the treatment rooms were beautiful. Overall, we had a great experience at the spa.

We had a wonderful stay at Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how well everything had been planned. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are thoughtfully designed, and the location couldn't be better if you're visiting the Mandai parks and zoos. It was the perfect place for our family. We stayed for a week and genuinely enjoyed every day. I'd especially like to thank the housekeeping staff on the 5th floor. She was so kind and always happy to help. Travelling with young kids means we had a few extra requests, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. Her kindness really made a difference to our stay. The buffet breakfast was another highlight. Even after a week, we looked forward to it every morning because there was so much variety. Whether you wanted Western, Asian, Indian or Malay food, there was something for everyone. A big thank you to Tiffany, Priya and the whole breakfast team for making us feel so welcome each day. Everyone was friendly, polite and genuinely cared about making sure guests had a great start to the day. Thank you to everyone at the resort for making our family holiday so enjoyable. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, and we'd happily stay here again.

It was the perfect balance of adventure and tranquility. The highlight of our visit was the staff. Every team member we interacted with was warm, genuinely caring, and attentive. They didn’t just provide great service—they took the time to understand our family’s needs and offered thoughtful recommendations that made our stay even more enjoyable. You could tell they truly cared about creating a memorable experience for every guest. The rooms were comfortable, the facilities were clean and well maintained, and the overall environment felt welcoming and family-friendly. If you’re looking for a destination where you can relax, reconnect with your family, and enjoy meaningful experiences without the crowds or stress, this is the perfect choice.
