We had a good time at the hotell. The rooms were clean and equipped with AC. The balcony had a beautiful view over parts of the airport and the greenery. The airplanes had a noticeable sound to begin with but after a day it was nothing that would disturb you. If you closed the balcony door the airplanes wasn’t a disturbance. Breakfast buffet was okay, same breakfast everyday but large enough so you don’t get bored.

Nicely located friendly hotel, with bus stop located directly opposite for easy access into Corfu Town. Nice clean rooms, Buffet food was decent enough with a good variety. Special mention to the extremely helpful Thalia at the guest relations desk, Dimitri on the bar; and Mrs. Anna at the Spa. An enjoyable and relaxing week.

Unfortunately, this hotel left a very negative impression on my short stay in Corfu. When we arrived, our room had a very unpleasant smell. Housekeeping was called, but they did not give a clear opinion. I then went to reception, where the receptionist simply repeated that housekeeping did not think the room smelled bad and initially offered no help. As we were travelling with a group occupying nine rooms, I said that I would involve our tour guide. Only then was another room offered. In the meantime, I had identified the source of the smell and tried to explain this to the receptionist. However, she repeatedly said that it was housekeeping’s problem and refused to listen. I found this response both unhelpful and dismissive. Reception and housekeeping should work together to resolve problems for guests, rather than passing responsibility from one department to another. The replacement room was located a long way from the main areas of the hotel and felt rather tucked away, although fortunately it did not have the same smell. I saw several rooms used by members of our group. In general, the rooms looked old and in need of renovation. Some were not entirely clean, with issues such as a dirty bedsheet, an unpleasant-smelling refrigerator, and minor damage to walls and bathroom fittings. The swimming pool was also far too warm to be refreshing. I estimated the water temperature to be around 29°C. Another serious concern was privacy. At the breakfast buffet, there was a list lying in an area where anyone passing by could read it. It contained the full names of hotel guests, together with their room numbers and arrival and departure dates. In my view, displaying personal information in this way may conflict with European data protection rules under the GDPR. When I raised this with a male member of staff at reception, he simply said that he knew nothing about it. The location is another disadvantage. The hotel is next to the airport runway and beside a fairly busy road. This results in considerable noise from aircraft, and the road does not feel safe or pleasant for walking. The hotel is officially rated four stars, but in my opinion this rating is not justified. Based on the condition of the rooms, the facilities, the location and, above all, the way complaints were handled, I would rate it as a two-star hotel. The most frustrating aspect was the attitude of some staff members. Instead of listening, taking responsibility and trying to help, they argued with us, denied the problems and refused to consider information that might have helped resolve them. This experience unfortunately cast a shadow over my stay in Corfu.
