Ariti Grand

Booked here for a week’s stay. Room is dated and in need of refurbishment. Inside the room and outside was a smell like sewage. Food is not edible as it was just awful, not even hot to eat it’s just warm where it just sits there on warm dishes. We did complain about how cold the food was and they did change it but it was still just warm. Food is repetitive every day, either chicken or pork chops in congealed sauce where it had just been sat for ages. Breakfast was the same every day. I like a fresh fruit salad but they only have tinned fruit in bowls. We ended up having to eat out most days. The snack bar is only for a houra day 4pm-5pm and it consists of dry sausage rolls and a piece of bread with some cheap ham inside it and some spinach rolls & some dried cake slices. The pool was dirty and the pool bar was only open two of the days we were there the rest of the week was the main lobby bar in the restaurant. Cocktails were not good. We also had high school trips coming to stay at the hotel sometimes as many as 280 at a time. Some drinking alcohol on the hotel premises being extremely loud and police having to be called. No security so staff as much as they tried was finding it difficult to control them. We did complain about it and we’re allowed to keep our room until we checked out. Reception staff were friendly and tried to help with the situation. I did suggest that maybe they should advertise to guests about the school trips on their website before people book this hotel. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for a week or two holiday.

I had a pleasant 3 nights stay. The planes taking off and landing did not disturb my sleep, it is quiet when you close the balcony door. The room is very big, and clean. The food was very good, tasty, and it varied, with enough options for all meals we had there. The staff is kind. The hotel needs a bit of makeup, but it is fine. It is isolated, but the bus stop is near, and it is not a long ride to Corfu town. The beach does not exist, but I would take rent a car and go different beach every day.

Personally my stay for both me and my partner was amazing, we had nearly no complaints and definitely enjoyed our time here, that being said I can understand there is a lack of entertainment, the food is absolutely lovely but can be repetitive and our room did have a couple of issues however to us none of this was really a bother therefore I would say it definitely was up to our expectations, in particular the pool area is lovely, the views of the airport which actually whilst in the room was surprisingly quiet, and the bar and drink selection were amazing for an all inclusive, very good experience here.

Think very carefully before you book this hotel. It is a very small quiet hotel in a fairly remote location about 2 miles outside of corfu town. If you like watching planes land and take off, its quite fun, thats actually not really an issue here. In the peak season, I'm sure its probably nice, but visit in the off season at your peril. They make extra money by hosting large groups of students (250-300 17-19 year olds) at a time who arrive all at once and swarm the hotel buffet like locusts. if you're really unlucky, like we were, you get such a poorly behaved group that drink, shout, scream, break the door and terrify everyone. And if that weren't enough, they also bus in cruise ship passengers for buffet lunch as well during the day so you still end up queuing to eat. Whilst understanding that a business needs to make money, I'd like to feel like my holiday experience matters to them. The manager seemed fairly indifferent to our complaints and fobbed us off. Thalia, the customer relations manager, did try and make some reparations for the disruption caused by the students and was more understanding. Our room was fairly low standard and shabby, not really 4 star standard, definitely in need of some updating and repairs, but the housekeeping team did at least clean every day. The pool is unheated so again in the off season it was quite chilly and also in shade before 10am and after 4pm, which you'd want to know if you're a sunseeker. The local bus into Corfu town in cheap at only 2euro but its like getting into a sardine can, be warned. However, it might be better value than going all inclusive here as the choices will be better and the chances of being pushed off the buffet by a lanky student less likely. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it unless they do a major refit and you're going in the peak season.
