Amare

We stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of our Albania trip and the end of the hotel’s summer season. The hotel really didn’t meet our expectations based on the reviews we had read and the use of the words ‘luxury’ and ‘luxurious’ on the hotel’s website. We were so disappointed, we actually looked into moving elsewhere but stuck it out because it was impossible to know whether the alternatives would be any better! Focusing on the positives, we received a very warm welcome, which was appreciated. The main pool area was lovely, with a relaxed atmosphere and great drinks service from the bar. Overall the service was friendly and efficient from all members of staff. Because the hotel is perched on a hill, it feels secluded and peaceful, which we liked. Our room was spacious and clean and we liked having a little terrace, but the decor felt soulless, like the room had been put together in a hurry. We noticed, for example, that there was a picture leaning against the wall under the desk area – it was as if they’d forgotten to hang it on the bare walls. There were also several holes in the walls in various spots throughout the room – perhaps repairs had been needed and nobody had bothered to fill them in. It made the place feel unfinished, as if it was an ongoing DIY project. In that regard, the bathroom was the worst part of the overall experience. Although it was clean, the finish really wasn’t up to scratch – for example, more holes in walls, badly fitted fixtures, bare plaster around the window, and the lever to control the shower fell off in my hand when I first used it (this was quickly fixed when reported). Breakfast was OK – there was a reasonable selection of items including fresh fruit, fresh pastries and coffee to order – although the food presentation was a little industrial, with everything in large plastic catering containers. Of course it’s practical to keep things covered to avoid attracting flies / wasps but the containers felt very functional rather than ‘luxury’ hotel breakfast. We had a couple of evening meals at the hotel too, which were also OK – freshly cooked and reasonable quality although there wasn’t much atmosphere in the restaurant / bar area, which was a shame. The menu was pretty standard with plenty of options, although some of the descriptions / translations in the app were a bit odd; having a properly written menu would massively enhance the experience. Generally, a little extra attention to some of the finer details could go a really long way at this property.

I had the pleasure of staying at Amare in August 2024 and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel was very clean, the staff was cordial, and the view from the pool was incredible. Additionally, the location was fantastic which is why I would highly recommend it.

Amazing experience! Albania exceeded all expectations. The hotel or very modern and clean throughout. Most importantly the hotel staff was amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel on vacation and provided any services we required (drivers, excursions, and plenty of recommendations for dinning.

I was there with my family and we loved the quietness with the breathetaking view, with very friendly staff and good service. Not to forget the cleanest which is on top. We enjoyed a lot the pool during the afternoon with our toddlers. It feels like home. High recommended!

The best destination i have been in Albania so far. The place is really clean, the view is unbelievable and the people are very respectfull and professional. They always recommend me the best places to eat traditional Albanian food and the best destinations for safe relaxing destinations for me and my family! But what i liked the most is that this people where always smiling and really enjoy the moments we spent together! Thank you Mr. Julian, will see you soon!
