Secrets Baby Beach Aruba

To say this trip has left a lot to be desired is an understatement. Before I get into it, I will say the property is beautiful, the rooms were clean, spacious and had everything you needed. But you would not have believed this hotel has been open for over a year. Starting from check in our check in was at 3 and they had our room ready after that. Then getting around everyone you asked to show you where to go just didn’t give proper directions. We were lost in the heat for so long in our airplane clothes just to get food because our room wasn’t ready yet. The beach situation is a nightmare, it is a beautiful beach do not get me wrong, but the hotel is not even remotely connected to it. From room to beach it took at least 15 mins without a lick of shade and no golf carts to be found EVER. And you can totally get to the beach just fine but be sure to get there before 930 bc you will not get a lounge chair or any shade. BTW it is a very crowded public beach also. Secrets is currently constructing 2 more buildings to add to this resort so I can’t even imagine how much more awful the beach situation will get. When the front desk had a question for us they were calling our room before 9am w no regard that we can be sleeping which happened twice. Anywhere you went you had to check in and check out. The location of this hotel is the worst part about it. There is nothing within miles of the place it is desolate. No street lights, dirt roads, unmarked speed bumps, restaurants or entertainment. I honestly didn’t even feel like I was in Aruba, I felt like I was in Mexico.

Have visited many Secrets Resort and Baby Bay would have been the best of them but for the Butler Service. Our butler was unprofessional and inattentive. He rushed us through the resort tour, we had to find much on our own, and we asked for Hibachi reservations for any day over the weekend. He made reservations for Monday, when we said that wasn't what we asked for he became argumentative and said he'd get back with us. We made our own reservations through Concierge. We saw him when he rushed through the tour day one and showed us to our room. Never saw him again (directly), we did see him checking in on his other guests. Our last day he said he would not be on site to assist, but guess who we saw when checking out? I will NOT recommend Baby Bay based on his performance alone.

We went on our honeymoon. The weather was fantastic. The resort was clean and well maintained. The staff was amazing. Food was good but service was top tier! The BEACH! The beach was gorgeous and relaxing. We had a good time at the beach. Noise level at our room was a real issue. There was construction noise when we were at the Preferred Club infinity pool. We had a swim out room but didn't really enjoy our pool or the tub on the patio because of the proximity to the main pool with activities. Probably didn't get the most bang for our buck in that situation. Overall, it was a good experience.

We enjoyed our stay. The resort was nice and new. Although there is one section of the resort under construction, so that was a bit loud and distracting. The rooms were comfortable and the room service is 24 hours. Staff was friendly and weather perfect! The 2 disappointments we had were the quality of the food in the specialty restaurants. They were not as good as we hoped. Also, the night entertainment was also a letdown.
