Hotel Giardinetto

Situated right on the edge of Lake Orta, Hotel Giardinetto was a very comfortable base for our stay. We were made very welcome on arrival and throughout our stay staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room (with balcony) overlooking the lake was spacious, clean and well furnished and the kingsize bed was extremely comfortable. We ate several times in the hotel restaurant; the menu is not extensive but the food is excellent and the wine list offers great choice of local and other wines at varying prices. The rooftop bar is also a popular and enjoyable spot for a drink and light meals in the evening. The hotel has its own ferry stop which was handy for a visit to Orta San Giulio and the island. Otherwise transport options are limited if you don’t have a car- the hotel is happy to arrange taxis but these are quite expensive. It was therefore much appreciated that the hotel provided a lift to the station to catch our train home.

Best holiday ever. Wonderful location situated on the beutiful lake of Orta. The Hotel Giardinetto is part of a family run group who also own the prestigious Vila Crespi hotel run by top Michelin star chef Anotonio Cannavaccioulo together with L~Aqua by the Lake and the Approdo. The experience we had at the Giardinetto was memorable for the welcome by the lovely Primatesta family, Caterina and Oreste, together with all of their lovely staff. Breakfast at the Giardinetto was the best ever and evenings at the restaurant with Gourmet recipes and fine wines was an experience to cherish. My wife chose a simple ice cream as desert and the waiter came along with a trolley absolutely loaded with a huge variety of toppings including pistaccio nuts, crushed almonds, fresh fruits, amaretti, more than I can remember together with various liquers, what a memory. A truly fantastic hotel, perfectly positioned right on the water’s edge. The views over Lake Orta from our room were absolutely breathtaking — peaceful, serene, and unforgettable. The room itself was quiet, comfortable, impeccably clean, and excellent value for money. Hotel is perfectly situated between the beautiful old town of Orta and the larger town of Omegna, with a "boat bus" stopping off at the hotel which goes around the lake 2 or 3 times a day. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, were the incredible staff. Every member of the team was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive — two of our party have mobility issues, and nothing was ever too much trouble. A special thank you to the owner, Oreste, his wife Caterina, and everyone at the Giardinetto for creating such a memorable experience. It was a truly wonderful holiday, and we will definitely be returning.

Beautifully planted outside areas, lovely pool (although sadly too cold to use as out of season)clean and comfortable interiors, good food and very nice helpful staff, especially Lorenzo. I felt very safe and supported by the hotel as a solo member of a tour group when I was using the restaurant and pool by myself. Thankyou

Fantastic stay in a beautiful and quiet location. The staff were all wonderful, efficient and friendly. Excellent room. I was part of a tour so the food was served to the whole group and service a bit erratic but the waiting staff worked hard and kept smiling. Next time I will try the hotel restaurant which is open to non residents too. Views across the lake were stunning; roof terrace beautiful; bar prices reasonable. A wonderful place to stay.
