Esmeralda Cotillo Homes by LIVVO

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks from September 20th. This was our second time staying here and prior to arrival requested the same room we had last time and was happy to find out that they had allocated that room, so many thanks for that. Firstly we have been coming to El Cotillo since 2014 and sometimes at least once or maybe twice a year. We have seen it develop and do worry that it is progressing very fast. We watched this accommodation being built. The bonus is that El Cotillo still retains it authentic not tacky tourist vibe. Firstly, some people will be disappointed in the building work however we only use all the different accommodations in the resort as a comfortable base and do most of our relaxing at the lagoons. Esmeralda Cotillo Homes is very comfortable very clean and the rooftop solarium is wonderful to relax on and eat breakfast or evening meal. Some have said it is not as private as they thought it would be however people are very respectful and if you are in certain areas of the rooftop it does offer some privacy. Amazingly, we do not use the pool although it does look lovely as we prefer the sea. The gym is modern, well equipped and again very clean. Parking around the building is generally easy with no stress. The arrival process is very clear and efficient and the reception is friendly and helpful. We will not hesitate to stay here again and cannot recommend it enough. Do check out all the different restaurants in the village, you won't be disappointed. Also we prefer the independence of getting a hire car from the airport and having that for the duration. The island is worth exploring and the only part of the island we have not experienced is the famous Cofete beach in the far south. Thanks once again Esmeralda Cotillo Home. Simon and Dawn Trodd

I've just returned from seven days at the Esmeralda Homes El Cotillo and it was so fantastic! Check-in was really easy. I arrived at 10.00pm and with reception closedI followed the instructions which were emailed to me the day before I departed for Fuerteventura. The supermarkets close at 10.00pm so you will need to go down the walkway beside the reception to get some water from the water station outside the gym. You cannot drink the tap water on the island. The separate code for the door to your accommodation works smoothly too. After that you will, as instructed, see the blue waterproof bracelet on the dining table. It will operate without any further codes to gain entrance to your apartment and to open the gate to the complex You need to actually make contact with the keypad numbers of both the digital pad at the entrance gate ( on the wall facing reception) and the apartment door keypad to allow them to open. My apartments was fabulous. Spotlessly clean and every two I had housekeeping refresh my towels and do general housekeeping. I lovex breakfast on my terrace every morning and prepared evening meals in the kitchen which has everything I needed to prepare food. English TV channels include BBC 1, ITV 1, Channel Channels 4 & 5 with excellent satellite connection. The free WiFi has excellent connection too. You are provided with a tea towel 3 dishwasher tablets and a pot scrub. There is a brush mop bucket and washing line in the cupboard behind the bathroom door. All the staff ate so nice A bid shoutout to Dijana at reception (I hope I spelled it correctly) who was so helpful and so lovely. Always smiling! She is real asset to Esmeralda Homes. Do not be put off by comments on the building noise. It didn't bother me at all A supermarket is 5 minutes away but its more expensive than the Superdino 10 minutes away at the entrance to the village. Lovely staff there very helpful. I will definitely be returning to Esmeralda Homes I loved my stay I will definitely return to Esmeralda Homes next year

lovely hotel well equipped kitchen rooms well maintained nice pool lovely location supermarket two min walk and fresh bakery and organic veg shop close by .Great little village lots lovely restaurants nearby. Unfortunately negatives building work opposite continual noise from 8am sometimes until 6pm bang power drilling no peace .we were in room 4115 if wanted afternoon rest had to go to bedroom as noise was too much to sit on sunbed outside .No privacy always looking in to other apartments or them looking into yours. We found a cockroach in our room reported to reception had photo but they didnt show much interest .Lovely village shame its going be to be destroyed by tourism with all building work.

We loved this place! We booked a room with a roof terrace. This was wonderful and we really appreciated the space and the rooftop bath! This hotel was extremely clean and the cleaners were very thorough! Our only slight problem was that the hotel asks you to leave the towels on the floor for changing, but they don’t specify exactly what day the cleaner comes so you risk dirtying towels that will never get changed. However we did ask for a towel change one day and this was kindly honoured! The kitchen was well equipped with a hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, and coffee machine. The hotel provides 4 dishwasher tablets, enough coffee filters for 1 jug per day, washing up liquid, and a dishcloth. The fridge freezer is spacious and very efficient. The rooms didn’t come with wine glasses, but there’s a Chinese shop at the other end of town that sells them for about €2. Other than that, there’s plenty of glasses/plates etc. The beds are super comfortable, and the safe is free. The room key is a wristband. There are only stairs to the rooftop rooms. These are really easy to access but worth considering for people with mobility issues and suitcases. WiFi was very good. The TV had plenty of channels in various languages, including the main UK freeview channels. It also had YouTube etc. We arrived late, after reception had closed. We were provided a code to enter the complex and our rooms (this is really straightforward - there’s a map on the wall after the gate entrance). There’s free drinking water below the pool area near the gym. We never used the pool area during our stay as we used the rooftop terrace but it always looked quiet and the lifeguard was always helping people. Reception staff were always helpful whenever we needed something. We had a late checkout for €30 and checked out at 4pm. You have to ask for this on the day of checkout. The TUI coach pickup is across the road by the hotel next to the hiperdino. El cotillo was a wonderful area to spend our holiday. There are so many great bars and restaurants. Nana nearby was good (about a 10-15 min walk). Solar bar was okay. Had a nice rooftop terrace but generally seemed quiet and drinks were quite expensive relative to elsewhere. We got takeaway pizza from Leo’s beach bar to take back several times and this was great. Worth noting: there is no pharmacy in El Cotillo so bring everything you might need or get a taxi! Also, the hiperdino express near the hotel is close enough in price to the nearby superdino and spar so probably not worth the walk unless you want more options. The beaches nearby are great and there’s a lovely beach about 100m away. We had an amazing time at this hotel and we can’t recommend it enough. We would love to come back!

Stayed for 11 nights , first impressions great, apartment very clean and the roof terrace was a lovely place to relax, we also enjoyed the pool,well for the first 6 or 7 days anyway! During our stay a large group of maybe 4 families arrived with about 9 kids, they completley took over the pool, so much so my husband and i had to abondon our usuall afternoon swim which wr really enjoyed! Up untill then we were talking qbout comig back in october but We will not return now which is a shame! The place is lovely but is not big enough to accomodate lots of children, it impacts too much on other guests! Adult only maybe? We would definatley return if this happened.
