Location shocking.terrible I can't think of anything else to say entertainment the worse:rooms ok but had to strip our bed after 5 nights not being changed: food I lived on salads for evening meals toast jam for brekkie felt like I was in prison couldn't wait to get home: staff can't fault them they were lovely .
As a family of 3 the room/ suite is more than big enough, with clean towels daily. The food is hit and miss but good enough to eat/ a good selection. The entertainment is interesting enough and the drinks are okay. Token system is slightly backwards but it seems to work. Expect big queues at the bar!
Our room overlooking sea and swimming pools which were absolutely brilliant for kids and older people. Room itself was nice but outdated. The entertainment was the best part of the holiday they were absolutely brilliant with the children and for the adults. You could not fought Linda and Nicola they were amazing They made our holiday. They really got the crowd going in the water and the children dancing in the evening and the-boys loved golfy. The queues for drinks and daytime snacks was absolutely horrendous. I have never waited so long for a drink or to get a snack. More staff definitely needed. I take my hat off to the staff because they were working as hard as they possibly can to make everyone happy. The last point was the food not good at all. It was very repetitive. It was such a shame as the staff can only do what they told to do and say. I wouldn’t bother with the Italian restaurant it’s no different than the main restaurant. The advertiser park for the children but there is no park need to update their page. Thank you very much but I will be coming back.
Good Big, spacious and well equipped rooms. Wide variety of food on the buffet. Something to suit everyone. The closest beach is lovely. Nice peaceful location (but this does mean you're better off with a car). Average Cleanliness. Although I didn't see any hygiene related problems directly associated with the food. Our room was cleaned (a bit) every day, but never new sheets and never our sandy balcony. Pool opening times were a bit tight at 1000 to 1900 and slides not on all at the same time creates unnecessary ques. Drinks. Unless you're into spirits and wine it was a bit limited. The token system is manageable but a pain, especially as the plastic cups are only 200 ml. It's a little tired would be fair. Poor Not enough seats in the restaurant for a family of 4. Often created by being a bit understaffed. The staff were working hard but clearing tables needed to happen more quickly than the staff level could achieve at busy times. Some drinks machines were now working sometimes and others just not switched on. This exaggerated the ques, unnecessary. Breakfast before 9, dinner at 1830 was good. The pool bar/snack bar ques could be long - Due to only having one member of staff working. Air conditioning was just bearable. Weak. As a few others have mentioned... cockroaches...we had one in our room, spotted a couple outside, and saw one in the restaurant where the staff acted quickly to remove it. Never saw any around the food stations, which always looked clean. Overall, 3.5 stars.
As always, our ideal destination could be completely different to yours. And as always, every perfect trip, begins with a little bit of research. Jet 2 was our favoured tour operator on this occasion and for four of us to travel to a 4* hotel in Fuerteventura, an incredible price of just £2000 for 7 nights. Please note this price was half of where we planned to go in the New Forest. With the booking complete, the negative reviews began coming thick and fast. -Dirty hotel and grounds. -Rude staff. -lack of hygiene. -Poor maintenance. -Tokens for drinks. I then had my own misconceptions as I expected, due to the hotel being located directly on top of a golf course, to have many screaming kids and moaning mothers, whilst their fathers all played golf. How wrong I was. We arrived late on a Friday evening, out of Stansted airport. No delays despite the works being undertaken at the airport and the Fuerteventura airport took just 8 minutes, from disembarking the plane, digitalising our passports for all over 12 years of age and clearing customs. A well oiled machine springs to mind, a very well thought out operation. We opted to hire a car from Cicar, and again a very well thought out operation, no queues and from arriving at the desk, it took just 6 minutes to be in our car and on our way. The hotel coach arrival from the airport, is estimated at 2 hours, dependant on drop offs on route, however with the car, it took just 45 minutes. When we arrived at the hotel (Livvo Jandia Golf located in Moora Jable), there was no queue for check in or scrambling for bags. Instead we had a polite male staff member detail the parking arrangements and directed us to the closest car park to our allocated room. Due to the time, he offered sandwiches, fruits and soft drinks, however obtaining the soft drinks was a challenge for some of the staff members, eventually however we did get there. The room was like a mini suite, a large entrance hall way with small table and tea trolley, two beds (one single & one double), a coffee table and two arm chairs. A separate bedroom with large double bed (two singles pushed together) and an extra large bathroom. Both living quarters offer patio doors to the balcony area, with views over the pools. There is a tv with under unit, housing hair drier and an empty fridge. The rooms were cleaned daily and the army of cleaning staff, as always in these complex style arrangements work tirelessly to meet your needs. They empty the bins, sweep and mop the floors, make the beds with clean linen and polish the surface areas. No complaints from me and certainly no hygiene concerns, as I read in the other reviews. My only complaint, is the small window and the outside corridor lighting, as this light does illuminate the room of a night and there is no way of closing the light out. So far not too bad then and due to the negative reviews I had read prior to our travel, I found myself seeking out issues. There is some loose flooring tiles, there is some worn paint, however this is as per any other hotel we have stayed in, from the cheapest to the most expensive. Why people are pointing out the negatives, has always puzzled me and I would love to see these peoples houses, or maybe not. Once we woke, we went to explore and there was no queues for sun-beds, no pre loading sun beds with towels and the buffet style breakfast that caters for all tastes and for all walks of life was clean, plentiful and tidy. Certainly no hygiene issues. (Please note, we arrived the day the kids broke up from school, as the holidays progressed, some did climb the fence to pre load sunbeds) Fuerteventura is a windy place, I’m not talking hurricane season but certainly on occasions, gale force winds and there is always a heavy breeze, and due to the hotel location it can blow towels from beds or inflatables away. Bring bed pegs, sealed or secure drink containers and a beach style bag for your belongings. There are some leaves blown from the nearby palm trees and for those that are too lazy to pick up after their kids, the odd wrapper, cup or napkin. In addition to the above, the breeze fools you into mistaking the temperature for being much cooler than it is and if you aren’t carful with sun cream application, this caught out a few people, including myself. I would advise the breeze is the reason, there are no parasols however please note I am not certain. The wind can blow over partially empty cups or blow them away and you need the cups to redeem your tokens at the end of your stay. I am unsure if a charge is applied for those failing to return all drinks tokens. This token arrangement does instil the responsibility to the person with the drinks, however there is some that feel this doesn’t apply to them and with cheap prices, you do get some undesirable families. (Clearly Benidorm was fully booked) There are 3 pools. One is to cater for young kids, with a splash pool, complete with slide apparatus. There is a large deep pool for families and that also houses the games and aerobics sessions. (the water polo can become a little competitive with some of the adults, as obviously when you give grown men a ball, they transform into 5 year year olds) And finally a pool with 3 large slides. The trick here is to check the wind direction before securing a sun bed and to prevent water being sprayed over personal belongings or becoming wet from those frequenting the slides. My only negative comment here, is that the pool temperatures are uncomfortably cold although they do offer a refreshing dip if you are situated in a sun trap area and after soaking in the suns energy. The slides have many wasps and towards the end of our break we noticed they were actually nesting in the handrail that supports the access steps to the slides. The life guards are aware of the issue and I’m not sure whilst they haven’t acted on this? There were a few kids stung, including my youngest son and so I would advise to bring, bite or sting cream with you. There is a huge amount of flies, however I would advise this is because of those same families, not being able to clean up. The undesirable families thrive at meal times, although it’s probably cheaper to feed them and their tribe here than it is to pay for their shopping back home. Once again the trick here is to avoid peak times, check the entertainment board and navigate your meals around the evenings choices. I feel the entertainment could be slightly better however, once again, the teams go all out, engaging with all ages. We visited Lanzarote last year, and the white party held there, was unbelievable. Here, it was just wasn’t in keeping, excluding the magic show, I felt I watched the same people on stage, doing morealess the same thing every night. We opted instead to visit the local beach at Mal Nombre. This beach is a 10 minute drive and having purchased a bag of monkey nuts we opted to walk along the beach and find some chipmunks to feed. -The hotel itself, has the golf course, the pools, a football pitch, in house entertainment, a golf shop, a book swap, parking. -The hotel offers breakfast, lunch and dinner for all palettes. -Sunbeds, towels, outdoor and indoor seating. -Clean rooms, with balconies or outside seating. -Restaurant with Buffett and pre booked themed restaurant. -outside loos that are extremely clean. -Short walk or drive from the seafront, shops and Thursday market. To be fair, we have paid twice the price to visit other countries and even other hotels in Fuerteventura, however, for value for money, none come close to this one. We will almost certainly return and if it wasn’t for already having other breaks booked, those return visits would be this year too. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and the negative reviews I read prior to travel are completely unjustified, so much so, that I usually write a review on the plane ride home, however I’m writing this during our stay. A couple of points to improve. -A small table or drink holders for the sun beds to prevent the cups escaping. -in keeping with the above, just a quick walk through from staff to collect litter, cups or clean up spilt liquids. (I realise it isn’t a staff job but for those responsible, allegedly, it isn’t theirs either) -Offer more for guests arriving at the hotel late or outside of the allotted restaurant timings. -on occasions, the soft drink dispensers have emptied and aren’t refilled until prompted and each dispensers drinks have a different taste, is the mixture different ? -The wasps. -Life guards on the same page with positions and travel on slides. -Water games, endorsed by staff to be split into groups, adults, and then kids separate. In summing up, we use any hotel as a base, we like to explore and get out and about, this hotel provided us that luxury. I tried toget some drone shots however the wind was too much
