Hotel LIVVO Jandia Golf

We stayed here for 2 weeks and it wasn't anywhere near the standard of other Tui 4* hotels we have stayed at. The Good: The animation team were excellent. Nicola, Linda, Antonio and Dominika were all excellent with the children and put so much effort in every day. The food was good, with enough variety. The Bad: Although this is advertised as an all-inclusive, the hotel do everything they can to limit that. There's a token based system where every guest gets one token and can exchange that for one drink. When they return the cup they get their token back. The cups are tiny (similar to other all inclusives) but you can only get 1 drink with your token, and the bar queues are very long (often over 20 minutes). There is a self service coffee and soft drink machine although it was very dirty, the ice was almost always empty, the soft drink syrup often ran out, and you still need to queue up at the bar to get the cups (take your own bottles to refill here to avoid the queues). On top of that, when we arrived there was a problem with the tap water and it tasted really bad. Tui advised against drinking it, but it's used for all hot and soft drinks so there wasn't much we could really drink. Reception were providing bottled water during that time but kept it a secret (even when we went to speak with them about the water problem) so we didn't realise we could get drinking water for a couple of days. You also have to book your evening meal, although they didn't seem too strict on that if we got there later than booked. The staff don't really know anything so it's very hard to get information. The pool was closed for a part of our holiday and nobody could tell us why or when it would be reopened. The slides are turned on on a rota, so they don't run all three at the same time. This was difficult with two children of different ages. My youngest only wanted to go on the slow one and my oldest wanted to go on the faster two, so it was difficult managing that when they couldn't go at the same time. There's a severe lack of shade. Even around the baby pool there isn't enough shade. In the morning the pool area is closed so people can't reserve sunbeds early which is good, but then people queue at the gate and just before the gates open people climb the walls to get in first. And because there are only a couple of shady spots these are all gone before anyone in the queue even gets in. There's also not enough sun beds. The hotel is a long way from the beach but they advertise a free shuttle bus that you have to book. We booked this twice but unfortunately the reception don't actually manage this and book everyone on the same time slot. So there are crowds of people trying to get into a taxi, including people that haven't booked, and it's almost a fight to get in. Both times we queued for over an hour in the sun (if you stand near reception in the shade you will never be able to force yourself into a taxi because there will be too many people that have pushed past you) and our family had to split up to get to the beach because there wasn't enough space. The reception just shrug and say it's not their problem. The walls are paper thin and the rooms are noisy. Our first room was right next to a generator and we couldn't sleep so we asked to change. The second room stank of disinfectant, and when that smell eventually went it was replaced by an overpowering stench of vomit, but they couldn't move us again until the next day. We spoke with another family that had moved from the vomit room the day after we were moved, so they clearly cycle people through their problem rooms. Overall the hotel is filthy. There were spilled drink stains on the floor that were there when we arrived and still there when we left. There's a layer of grime on most things. It is without a doubt the worst Tui hotel we have ever stayed at, and not somewhere I could recommend again.

This was our 2nd visit here. We enjoyed it as much as the 1st time. There was a small hiccup with our room on arrival but it was rectified immediately by the reception staff who were all so very pleasant and accommodating. Pool/beach towels at reception, (deposit required) changed whenever you want is a great service. Towels changed in your room as often as you require too. The food was great, lots of fresh fruit, salad and veg with a good selection of meat and fish. Fantastic bread too!! All the staff from reception to the cleaners, waiters and animation are so friendly and hard working, always smiling too! The views of the golf course down to the sea and the mountains are fantastic.There are lots of birds to see on the golf course and occasional goats eating the lush grass in the rough!! It is a quiet, relaxing hotel so if you want bars and nightlife don’t stay here!! There are lots of improvements going on and we can’t wait to come back next year to see them. The staff here are incredible - so hardworking! However please do not visit if you’re hoping for a relaxing holiday; currently here and there is music blasting from the pool area all day, a band have been playing incredibly loud music for the past two days at the outside bar at the same time as this pool music; and the evening entertainment is so loud that you can hear it in the rooms. The rooms themselves are not sound-proofed so everyone walking back noisily to their rooms after the evening entertainment has finished (after 23:00) is disruptive. Food is quite samey (generally expected from all inclusive) but the labelling, or lack thereof, is shocking; many missing labels and sometimes totally incorrect, on our second night there was a label for onion rings but this was actually calamari (very disappointing as I’m a vegetarian, but could have had dire consequences for someone with a seafood allergy). Vegetarian food is really lacking, some bean/chickpea stew, although sometimes this has hidden meat (chorizo in last night’s), so I’ve mainly lived on salad and bread rolls for the week….not ideal! The room was not satisfactorily clean on arrival (see pictures, the dustpan was just from sweeping in the bathroom) and the “double bed”, although comfy, is two singles pushed together with ill-fitting sheets. Decent value for money off-season but I definitely won’t be returning as it has been a stressful holiday!

There seems to be a cockroach issue in this hotel. A waiter in the dining room stood on one and cleaned it up & several used to be running around outside at night during the entertainment. The 2 pools are stated as being salt water by Jet2, but are not. Pool open from 10am, pool guys seem to enjoy the power of making people wait past this time and driving people to jump over gates to reserve beds in the shade as 4 different gates that need to be opened, although bed reserving is against the rules. I reported that the shower gel in the room had run out, the guy on reception went up to fill it straight away(very prompt), but didn't knock or ring the bell & practically saw my eldest daughter naked. Considering it is all AI there was only 1 person serving behind the bar, so the queues where always long & the 1 cup per person rule did not help. There was an additional bar right by the pool but was never open in our 2 weeks here. Slides are only open at set times. The advertised "shuttle" service going to the beach & back is a shambles. Essentially you book a space using a QR code reception give you, wait for a mode of transport that comes an hour late, return time is 5pm, no one comes to collect you get told they're running late, nxt get told they've already been but no one was there. Its a local taxi firm that the hotel uses, (most of the drivers and rude and refuse to take you back to the hotel) but it doesn't work, only plus is the hotel told us to jump in a taxi after waiting for a while and then they came out and paid for it. One evening my child was having a loud meltdown due to her additional needs, a neighbour decided to be rude, told me to control my f**king child, she complained to reception, who then rang the room and immediately threatened me with the police. Not once did either of these people check & ask if myself or my child were okay, very disappointed. I did complain to reception about this the following day and ended being able to keep the room for longer on the day of check out without any additional charge, it's usually 10 euros per hour and can only be confirmed on the day of departure. Now for the pros. Check in was easy, but info lacking slightly, as was not advised how to work the safe until I asked which is also free or how to work to Aircon, which I found a lot of people seemed to struggle with. We arrived after the all inclusive had finished, but was offered sandwiches by reception but we just needed sleep so politely declined. You are asked to select what days you'd like your room cleaning, I went for everyday, as I didn't want to be making my own bed whilst on holiday and they also give you times slots to choose from to go for your evening meal. The room itself was alot bigger then I was expecting, there was a kitchen area and a fridge which we never used, a large living area with a pull out sofa bed, two sets of patio doors and the main bedroom had what must have been a queen bed as it was a huge bed and also very comfortable. We were in the main block, 2nd floor, so not many stairs to deal with, the dining room is also down a flight of stairs close to the pool. We never had an issue finding a table. Plenty of choice, something for everyone and there is another area open on a night offering Italian style based foods too, my only niggle in here is there was a bit of fly issue. Omelettes, pancakes, bacon, hash browns, bacon, beans, pastries, different breads, breakfast choices were very good. Entertainment is good but it is repeated ie. 2nd wk is the same as the 1st etc. similar pattern through the day too, it's a shame they couldn't have kept some music on around the pool even at a low level after they had finished the aqua aerobics. Drink choices for AI were pretty vast, all local brands, cocktails, mocktails and slushies. The majority of staff where helpful & friendly, but I was ignored on at least 3 occasions when telling staff at the bar and reception that there was no hand soap in the toilet by the pool. Overall we did enjoy this holiday.

Just stayed here for 5 nights and we had a fab time, room was clean and very spacious everything you need. The food was good especially the themed nights. The drinks were great and lots of choice. The pool was good and the slides. They had something different on everynight we really enjoyed the magic show. The hotel is a little far out but they do a free taxi to the beach for people which is brilliant, we hired a car for the time we were there so had no problems getting about. Would defo come back 😊
