Hotel LIVVO Jandia Golf

Really enjoyed our stay here, spacious clean rooms, we had adjoining rooms with our son and grandchildren. Food was good and plentiful, staff were friendly and helpful. Good to have the taxi service down to the seafront but a bit troublesome coming back at 5pm but only 7 euros for a family of five to get back. Pool area well managed but still quite funny to see the dash every morning at 10 when they open the gates

Our first impression of Jandia Golf Resort was good, but after staying here for two weeks, we feel there are definitely some things worth knowing before booking. If you’re staying longer than four days, be prepared for the food to become quite repetitive. The same dishes seem to appear every day, and there isn’t a huge amount of choice. We’ve found ourselves eating out every other day, which obviously adds to the cost of the holiday. I’m not a huge fan of the drinks token system, although I can understand why the hotel uses it. The hotel is also quite isolated, so having a car has been a lifesaver for us. The beach is around a 30–40 minute walk away, but only about 5 minutes by car. Once you get to the beach area, there are plenty of shops, bars and places to eat. The resort itself is looking a little tired in places. There’s old rubbish around parts of the outer perimeter, weeds growing in various areas, broken floor tiles, peeling paint and we’ve also seen lifts that aren’t working. None of these things completely ruin the holiday, but they do give the impression that the resort could do with some investment and maintenance. On the positives, the rooms have a free safe and the air conditioning blows nice and cool. The golf course is very well maintained, and there are plenty of sunbeds around the pool. However, the main pool doesn’t open until 10am, so queues can build up quite quickly in the morning. Most of the staff have been polite and friendly, although we did have one disappointing experience with a receptionist. The entertainment team, however, are by far the highlight of the resort. They work incredibly hard and are non-stop entertaining guests throughout the day. Great effort from the whole team. The bar can also get very busy as there usually seems to be only one person serving, so expect queues at peak times. Overall, we’ve had a decent holiday, but I think expectations are important. If you’re looking for a quiet resort away from everything and you’re happy to hire a car and eat out occasionally, it could work well. For a two-week all-inclusive stay, though, the repetitive food and the general tiredness of parts of the resort have been disappointing. Would I come back? Probably not for a two-week stay, but I think it could be a much better experience for a shorter break.

Overall we had a great holiday but there were a things around the hotel which means we will sadly never return again. First of all the pool facilities and the slides are excellent but the pool doesn’t open until 10am and there is a straight up sunbed war to get a bed. Secondly, the major let down for us was the food. It was the same food every single day, boring, plain and not what you expect from a ‘4*’, after day 2 we got taxis into the town to eat out every night. The whole of the hotel is swarmed by flys, the buffet, the pool area and your room, you cannot escape them. We found a wasps nest which was situated right were children are playing, we informed reception and they were not bothered.

We are here right now, (family of 4, 1A 3C) and we are SO impressed! Such a beautiful hotel, really big too and the rooms are huge! Honestly can’t complain. The staff are really really lovely throughout the entire resort, and they all have flags on their badges for languages spoken. All of the staff know good basic English, enough for all you need anyway. If all else fails, google translate is the one! The food is also good for an all inclusive and you definitely won’t go hungry at all. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served, also a snack bar 12.30-4.30 with pizza, burgers, hotdogs chips, fish goujons etc etc. so great for the kids. Even in the main meals, there’s always something even for the fussy eaters. There’s a themed restaurant on site too that’s Italian and that was good too. There’s also a free shuttle bus to the beach, which is 5 minutes down the road and visible from the hotel. And there’s a game room for the teens, air hockey, table tennis etc. the area is beautiful too, there’s an inactive volcano right near the hotel. The only downside I would say about the resort, is that there’s no onsite shop for things like cigarettes, crisps, drinks and snacks. Slight downside as the nearest shops are all down near the beach, so use the free shuttle or get a €8-10 taxi to one. There’s a lot of shops down in the town. They do have vending machines onsite but we found them to be pretty much empty, with one being out of service. Hopefully they’ll be restocked soon. We would definitely return, thank you for our lovely holiday.

As a family of 3 the room/ suite is more than big enough, with clean towels daily. The food is hit and miss but good enough to eat/ a good selection. The entertainment is interesting enough and the drinks are okay. Token system is slightly backwards but it seems to work. Expect big queues at the bar!
