Servatur Puerto Azul

I came to this great hotel with my little boy who's 2. The splash zone area, pools and park were a hit . All the staff we had the pleasure of talking to were very friendly and polite. I have to eat gluten free due to being celiac and never had an issue with any off the food I had. Although the pancakes at breakfast had a very strange taste/texture. Does the pizza/pasta sometimes get a bit much.. yes, but the staff did there best and when they realised it was just myself and my little one they would go out of their way to find me and bring my food to the table which I really appreciated, as meal times could sometimes be a juggling act. The cleaning staff do an excellent job! There was 1 man in particular and I unfortunately never got his name but he was fantastic with my little 1 whenever he saw us. We would definitely return to this hotel. I felt very safe and its a great location. We walked to both beaches with a pushchair, it is very steep but some fantastic views. Definitely didn't walk back up! We obviously couldn't use the steps so it is slightly longer route. We had a lovely week, with amazing memories. Only 1 thing i think could be thought about is that in the evening the kids disco etc starts at exactly the same time as the food starts which just didn't make sense especially if you have a little one.

We changed to this hotel from an original booking we were celebrating 3 birthdays but mine was why we were on holiday. We had a lovely stay food was plentiful and very good pastries area, the restaurant can feel a little overwhelming due to children running around many with no manners, We always tried to arrive when they open to avoid the main rush. Pool are lovely but extremely busy footballs drove me mad, no control. The main bar area of an evening should be adults only out side many occasions drinks knocked over by children playing ball and agin no control from parents but won’t stop us returning, We really enjoyed the adult only pool and bar great area and staff

Stayed August 2025 – Servatur Puerto Azul, Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria We stayed at Servatur Puerto Azul in August 2025 for an extended family holiday and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The hotel had a wonderfully luxurious feel, with impressive facilities, beautiful surroundings and spectacular views across Puerto Rico and the Atlantic Ocean. Accommodation and hospitality Our room was amazing: spacious, beautifully presented and exceptionally clean. The balcony was enormous and came with our own personal sun loungers, which was a fantastic feature. It meant we could enjoy the sunshine, relax and take in the views from the comfort and privacy of our room without necessarily needing to head down to the pool first thing in the morning. Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay, and we found the staff attentive, approachable and welcoming. A special mention goes to the lovely gentleman serving ice cream near the main reception area. Unfortunately, I can’t remember his name, but we got on extremely well, and his friendliness was another lovely part of our holiday experience. Swimming pools and water park The hotel has fantastic swimming pool areas, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the sunshine. There was a good provision of sun loungers, although reserving them was an issue during our stay. As we visited in August, at the height of the summer season, some guests were reserving large numbers of loungers very early in the morning. On several occasions, I found myself getting up particularly early simply to secure two loungers for us. This was frustrating, particularly given the number of loungers available, and I feel it is something the hotel could manage more effectively during peak periods. Another excellent feature was the hotel’s on-site water park. Although not particularly large, it served its purpose very well and was a great addition to the facilities. It featured a substantial water slide, accessed by climbing several flights of steps to a considerable height, along with a smaller pool area for younger children. It was another enjoyable option for families without needing to leave the hotel grounds. Food and dining The food was excellent, with a fantastic variety of choices throughout the day. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis and enjoyed the breakfast, lunch and evening meal offerings. The live cooking stations were particularly impressive, with freshly prepared options available across the different mealtimes. There really was something for everyone, and we had no complaints about the quality or variety of the food. One aspect I wasn’t particularly keen on was the reusable plastic drinking cups provided for use at the self-service drinks machines throughout the day. On occasions, I noticed cups being brought out from the kitchen still wet and immediately being taken for use by guests. Although I appreciate the practical reasons for reusable cups, I personally wasn’t comfortable with this arrangement and feel the presentation and handling of the cups could be improved. Entertainment and family activities The entertainment facilities were outstanding, particularly for families with children of different ages. There was an enormous indoor entertainment venue with a large stage and screen, used for children’s activities during the day and live performances and shows in the evenings. The entertainment was lively, engaging and often absolutely hilarious! The poolside entertainment was equally enjoyable, with plenty of family-oriented games and activities. Some involved special equipment being brought into the swimming pools, including challenges where participants attempted to cross floating mats without falling into the water. These were extremely popular and great fun to watch. The only downside to the main indoor entertainment venue was the availability of seating during peak season. With the hotel operating at high occupancy, it could be difficult to find somewhere to sit comfortably and enjoy the performances, particularly when travelling as just two people rather than part of a larger group. Additional seating or better management of the space would certainly improve the experience. Football, games and recreational facilities Another fantastic feature was the large indoor/outdoor recreational area, which included an impressive artificial-grass football space. This became a real gathering point for children and teenagers, particularly after dinner, when youngsters from different countries would come together for big games of football. My son absolutely loved this. We met another family with a boy of a similar age, and over the course of our extended stay the boys developed a lovely friendship and spent a great deal of time playing football together. By the end of the holiday, they were both saying that they’d played some of the best football of their lives! It was wonderful to see so many children of different nationalities enjoying themselves together, communicating through a shared love of football. This was definitely one of the highlights of the holiday for my son. There were also table tennis facilities and a giant outdoor chess game, complete with enormous chess pieces reaching approximately thigh height. These were lovely additions and provided further opportunities for guests to enjoy themselves. The hotel also had more than one arcade and games area, offering plenty of additional activities away from the swimming pools. There was certainly no shortage of things to do, and the range of facilities was one of the hotel’s greatest strengths. Gym and additional facilities The gym was well equipped, easily accessible and another excellent facility for guests wishing to keep up with their fitness routines. Another particularly useful feature was the on-site self-service laundry. Guests could download the relevant app and use the washing machines and dryers themselves. This was extremely convenient during a longer summer holiday, allowing us to wash and dry clothes without difficulty. These practical facilities, alongside the extensive entertainment options, really added to the overall quality and convenience of our stay. Location and the famous 709 steps The hotel is situated high on the hillside overlooking Puerto Rico, so there is an incline to consider when travelling to and from the harbour and surrounding resort. However, this is something guests should be aware of when booking, and we found it manageable. There is also the well-known staircase of 709 steps connecting the higher resort area with the lower part of Puerto Rico. Rather than viewing this simply as an inconvenience, we considered it part of the holiday experience! Even if you only decide to tackle it once, it’s quite an experience and a memorable part of visiting the area. Of course, taxis are available for those who prefer not to make the climb back up. Down at the harbour, there are plenty of places to eat, shops selling souvenirs and opportunities to explore the coastline. One of the highlights of our holiday was taking a boat trip from Puerto Rico to Puerto de Mogán, where we visited the wonderful market. The journey along the coastline was spectacular, with beautiful blue water and dramatic cliffs. Puerto de Mogán itself was idyllic, colourful and welcoming, and the market was a fantastic experience. The hotel’s location made it possible to enjoy both the resort facilities and excursions further afield. Overall experience We had a truly wonderful holiday at Servatur Puerto Azul. The hotel combined a luxurious atmosphere with excellent accommodation, fantastic food, extensive entertainment facilities and welcoming staff. Our spacious room and enormous private balcony were particular highlights, along with the beautiful pool areas, stunning views, on-site water park and incredible range of activities available. What made the holiday particularly special was seeing my son enjoying himself so much, making friends and joining in football games with children from all over the world. Although the early reservation of sun loungers, limited seating in the main entertainment venue and reusable drinking cup arrangements were areas I felt could be improved, none of these overshadowed the many positive aspects of our stay. I would wholeheartedly recommend Servatur Puerto Azul to families looking for a lively, well-equipped resort with beautiful surroundings, excellent facilities and plenty of opportunities to explore Gran Canaria. A beautiful hotel, wonderful memories and somewhere we would definitely return to! A big thank you to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Hotel clean. Food ok. Service abysmal, Reception staff outwardly rude and do not think about asking for a late check out. Restaurant is like a war zone, waiting staff barely clear tables and you need to source your own cutlery. No service for AI drinks, I suspect this is to stop you spending. Animation staff do not try at all with older teens, activities laughable. 2 star at best.

Was upgraded to a pool room 7007 on arrival which was amazing and we had such a nice time because of it. Rooms were spacious and kids spent so much time in pool. Food was very good in general with fresh pastries in morning and plenty of food choice , one of the better all inclusive hotels i went to. Staff looked over worked and needed more staff as plates were never taken while eating. Kids good was amazing and girls were super friendly. Overall an amazing stay would have been nice to get a late check out but understand other guests were coming Entertainment wasnt bad and drinks were nice ,only thing was annoying was the all inclusive and all inclusive plus as for all inclusive it was very restrictive .
