Apartamentos Playa Calera

Hotel je pomerne nove zrekonsteuovany, pokoje jsou velke a ciste.Meli jsme pokoj typu apartmanu s malou kuchynkou,ktera mela zakladni vybaveni. Postele byly pohodlne,jen se jedna o 2 luzka,nikoli manzelskou postel. Trochu neprijemne byly sklenene dvere a okolni vypln do koupelny.Ackoli vetsina byla mlecna,pokud mate radi soukromi,zde nebylo. Polopenze byla perfektni.Snidane byly v zakladu stejne (vajicka, pecivo, sladke, cerealie) ale denne byla obmena v nekterych potravinach. Pridala bych vice zeleniny. Vecere byly vyborne a dalo se nakombinovat plno chuti, vzdy byla 1 ryba a 1 druh masa. Na cestu domu jsme na pozadani dostali balicek namisto zmeskane snidane. Na strese hotelu je krasny bazen s vyhledem,jsou zde uzasne zapady slunce. Jine vyziti hotel nenabizi,ale vzhledem ke starsi klientele ci navstevnikum,kteri vyrazi pres den na tury, to ani neni treba. Plaz je do 100m od hotelu,je verejna. V zime nebyl problem s mistem, v lete si myslim muze byt preplnena.

We went to the hotel by July, family of 5 with 3 kids. The resort is good and we had the chance to arrive when it was not crowded. Two communicating rooms on the last floor, perfect for a family of 5. You can find a small kitchen inside every room with a fridge, letting you the possibility to cook easy things. Beds are goods and we had the chance to rest as it was not noisy during the 3 first days. After that the hotel was almost full and the feeling was different. People are smashing the doors, talking late and early in the corridors.. then you realise that isolation is poor. Swimming pool is opening late 10/30 and closing too early 19h. (At 18/30 you can’t get in anymore) The breakfast is acceptable and several points could be improved : Quality of fruits is not good, most you can’t eat! The staff is really noisy, above all the girl that is collecting the plates, we were wondering if she would to break them as it was super noisy. The same girl is also not really sympatic! Not talking to friendly despite we were smiling. She is also stopping the coffee machine at 10 sharp, that will not let you have the chance to grab a last coffee if you like. The underground free parking is also convenient. The overall feeling for our stay is good and I would recommend the hotel for those for like quietness and farniente.

We booked with Tui and were pleasently surprised , hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Room was huge we had a front room with seaviews, Kitchen was small but big enough to make a sandwich wouldnt want to try and cook as space is limited. Room was clean, bed comfy, balcony was a good size. Heated roof top pool was a bonus and the breakfast buffet was plenty. This hotel is centrally located to the seafront which has numerous resturants with a spa supermarket a 2 min walk. La Gomera in our eyes is a hidden gem and is defienitley worth the journey. It does take an hour from the ferry port to get to the hotel along some very bendy roads !!

There is much good to say about this hotel; location is good, rooms are big and nice, good breakfast buffet restaurant and nice pool area on the top floor BUT you don't know if you get a room with a good location or the opposite. We have stayed here before in a room on 3rd floor on the front side of the hotel with nice sesviews, and at point i gave the hotel 5*. This time we got a room on 2nd floor with very limited sesviews through some palms (room 201) and very dark. Absolutely no sun on the terasse. We had booked a "larger room with partial sesviews". And you dont know up front which type of room you are getting and it is not possible to pay extra and be sure to get a good room. So you are betting your holiday on a lottery. Would i do that again. Never!

Zero privacy on the room balconies. Rude and unhelpful staff. Noisy location. limited swimming pool times. Sterile atmosphere and architecture. The flimsy open-lattice panel between balconies enables people to see and hear neighbours on both side ( and they can see you ! ). The pool open times were 10:30 to 18:30 ( will change to 11 to 7 ) and were aggressively enforced by rude staff. My wife was told to at 18:10 to get out of the pool in 5 minutes, by an abrasive pool-guide . No chance of a relaxing morning by the pool then. A gang of noisy teenagers gathered to play football on the hotel plaza. After a few hours of loud noise we complained to reception, only to be told .. its a public space and nothing can be done ! ( we were given a different room some days later ). Breakfast was served until 10 am. One morning I started breakfast at 09:45. At 10:08 the waiter snatched my plate way. I objected but was told, in blunt terms, that the table had to be cleared immediately. The overall style of the hotel is modern mass concrete and polished marble , but it has zero ambience or personality. The hotel is over-priced. There is better value in other hotels. positives;- central location. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. They offered apologies. The room was big. The kitchenette was very good, as was the bathroom.
