Papouis Protaras Hotel

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Papouis Protaras Hotel! ❤️ From the first day until the last, everything was truly excellent. The staff were extremely friendly, kind and always willing to help. The food was delicious, with plenty of variety and great quality, and the whole hotel was exceptionally clean and well looked after. We would especially like to give a special mention to the person responsible for the children’s games and entertainment. 🥰 Their energy, enthusiasm and genuine love for the children made our holiday even more special. The kids had an amazing time and were always looking forward to the activities and games. People like this are what make a family holiday truly memorable! ❤️ A big thank you to the whole Papouis team for the wonderful hospitality. We had an amazing time and would definitely come back again! 🌴☀️ We highly recommend this hotel, especially for families with children! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

I love this hotel and really appreciate the work of all of the staff, everyone is so friendly here. The hotel is located in a beautiful area, really close to the beach. The atmosphere here is unique, all the staff takes care about their guests. The rooms are comfortable, beautifully decorated and clean. A huge thank you to the manager Majid and to Kera as well. They truly care about making sure that guests have everything they need. Everything here is perfectly organized and taken care of. Despite the hotel being only 3 stars, the experience feels luxurious. A special mention goes to the bartender Bikram, whose cocktails are the best I have ever had. He is extremely professional and truly passionate about what he does. I am absolutely sure that I will return here in the near future.

We are just back from a week in Cyrpus staying in this hotel. There are definitely a lot of pro’s and con’s to this hotel and there is a lot of room for improvement this hotel has SOO much potential but unfortunately at the minute just misses the mark. 💚PRO’s - the pool areas are great - clean hotel - housekeeping staff lovely - lovely breakfast (amazing French toast!!) - wide range of cocktails but the soft drinks/quality of juices let them down slightly - the grey haired male entertainer was brilliant quite funny as well during water polo - pizza fresh & warm - rooms ok size with Netflix on the tv which was good at night - pools NEVER felt over crowded which was brilliant - kids pool/slides never stopped the kids seemed to love them - plenty of pool men cleaning up excessive water during the day - housekeeping teams so quick if there’s spills round the pool ❤️CON’s - certain areas could do with a bit of work - shower in one of our rooms had cracks around the tap - door handle in one room was rusted badly - 3 of the 4 of us ended up sick from drinking the water so I definitely recommend walking down to the shop 10 mins away and buying bottles - lunch and dinner were so below average and never warm - the soft drinks were that bad we couldn’t finish them it was just pure syrup/sugar and didn’t taste remotely like what it should - “sprite” was a gold colour because of the amount of syrup - sunbed wars despite there being signs everywhere saying towels would be removed they never were they definitely need to follow through on this more!! - the blue sunbeds were dreadful and nearly collapsed every time you sat down - snacks weren’t great - the noise at night from the bar - the blue sun loungers seem to get flooded out every day from the kidney shaped pool with diving/splashing all the water runs towards the beds so you can’t put belongings on the ground 💛TIP’s - plus size people go for the white sun loungers they are stronger - the bus stop out the hotel to the right and across the road €2 each way (€3 after 9pm) takes you right into the town - CASH ONLY - bring your own towels for sunbeds, hotel can provide these at a cost - bring a reusable water bottle - bolt app for taxis or food delivery to the hotel we used this for dinner one night - rooms are definitely designed for 2 people only - IF YOU/KIDS ARE LIGHT SLEEPERS DONT GET POOL FACING ROOM, music stops between 11-11:30pm at night and is so loud, I fear if you had young children they wouldn’t sleep through it! - €10 per hour late check out is very reasonably priced - walk slowly around the pool areas as they are slippery, wear slides/flip flops as ground gets hot Would I stay again maybe if it was SOLELY bed and breakfast, we were all extremely disappointed at lunch and dinner times. We found reception staff to be a bit unhelpful towards then end when we asked about late check out as a member of our party fell sick the day before we went home they couldn’t give a yes or no answer and just kept passing it off to the next person we eventually did get a lovely woman morning of check out who granted it at €10 per hour which was great!

We had a wonderful stay at Papouis. Delicious food, a clean pool, a cozy atmosphere, and very friendly staff. Special thanks to Margo for the wonderful yoga and aqua aerobics classes. She's very kind, attentive, and puts everyone in a great mood. We'll definitely be back.

We visited in August 2025 for a week as a family of 4 but returned this July with a group of 10 but stayed for 2 weeks. We knew from last time that the hotel more than met our expectations but it has continued to meet them this time around. The hotel is spotless and any issues with cleanliness or spilt drinks are dealt with quickly. We had no issues with the food on offer, everyone in our group ate well and there were plenty of options. The pool was busy but we never had issues with loungers and plenty of parasols as well to keep us cool when needed. Just what we all needed for a relaxing holiday. Special mentions must go to Atar who was so polite and friendly around the pool, bringing drinks always with a smile on his face and always took the time to say hello. Also Picasso for providing us with so much entertainment around the pool during water polo and volleyball. He made a big fuss of my daughter and he has given us plenty of laughs over the course of the last fortnight with his "2 minutes out!!" screams.
