We’ve just got back from a fantastic family break at Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives. We stayed in both the beach villa and overwater pool villa. What I love about this resort is it’s so geared up with families with kids. The rooms are cleverly designed so that you have a bunk bed room which the kids LOVED and then the king room for the adults, allowing everyone to have their own space but without having to buy 2 whole rooms. Opening the doors either onto the white sandy beach or the lagoon was truly magical. We went snorkling most days and say some amazing fish! At night we’d go shark watching on the bridge as they come out then. We did a turtle snorkling trip and saw 3 turtles! The food at this report surpassed my expectations. I usually tire of a buffet on my stay, but the mix of Indian, Thai and western food kept it delicious. We tried all of the restaurants across both resorts and it was all to such a high standard. My kids favourite were the fired noodles at Asian Bua and the adults favourite was the Italian Acqua - such a brilliant Italian chef making the best carbonara we’ve had in years! The kids loved the lazy river and inflatables in the sea. Kept them entertained for 10 days! They enjoyed the kids club too. What made the biggest difference, was how brilliant the staff were with our children. Anyone holidaying with kids knows how much easier things are when the team makes an effort, and the staff here went well beyond that. Huge shout-outs to Fatima, Prem, Hoody, Delli, Riley, Shippe, Sobree and Mai - they were all so friendly, fun, and attentive. The kids haven't stopped talking about them since we got home. Also, a big thank you to Hallam from housekeeping, who kept our villa spotless and made the kids' stay extra special with a cool sand picture design and a towel animal on our last morning. A great resort, but it’s definitely the people working there who make it worth visiting. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other families.

What can I say?.... A true paradise on Earth! And the staff, exceptional! We stayed here this October, just as they were coming out of the rainy season, to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, and the staff really went above and beyond for us to mark this milestone a truly memorable occasion. Initially we booked the beach villa, which in itself is a gorgeous, very spacious and modern accommodation. But Nabeel, one of he managers was able to surprise us and offer us an upgrade to the over-the-water villas for the last few days of our stay here! We can't thank him enough for everything he did for me and my family, Nabeel and indeed all the staff are true gems and a credit to the resort they work for. Normally in these types of reviews I list good points and bad points about our stays. But in this case, there is literally nothing negative or bad I can think of. It was all first class. So the good points, and there are lots!: 1. Very convenient location. 40-45 minute boat ride from the airport, which is ideal especially after an almost 11 hour flight! 2. Great kids club and activities for the kids. Travelling with a 4 year old and a 10 year old, we specifically chose this island because of the activities they have to keep the kids entertained. The pools and slides were good fun, as was the smaller splash pool for younger kids. The kids club had plenty to keep both entertained, such as PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch consoles to play. The highlight my eldest really enjoyed was the climbing and obstacle inflatables in the lagoon, they were great fun! 3. The restaurants and buffet are great. The Italian and Thai restaurants were superb. You do need to book in advance to eat here, which can be easily done via the hotel app. And the options and how they can cater to your individual needs and requirements is a blessing. They can literally customise any dish for you, and if there's nothing you fancy, even whip you something up that isn't on the menu. The buffet is great too. Always found plenty of options, and again can accommodate to your individual needs. All the staff, chefs and waiters are great, very friendly and helpful. 4. Brilliant spa! The staff here are really great and brilliant massage therapists! I have to single Mr Patis out here, he was a really exceptional and very knowledgeable therapist, really helped me and alleviated my issues. 5. Plenty to do. Plenty of water sport activities with some great spots around the island to spot all manner of marine life. All in all, a great place, great staff and a perfect get away. I really wish I can return here one day inshallah!
