Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru

Our family spent almost two weeks at the Four Seasons just before Christmas. The resort is like White Lotus where nothing bad happens. From the group initial greeting as you arrive by float plane to the goodby as you sadly depart, the warmth and genuineness of the staff is remarkable. There are grand weekly parties where the staff and guests mingle as friends while sipping white wine and eating wonderful small bites. We have spent a great deal of time at other marquis Four Seasons resorts -- Maui, Costa Rica, Punta Mita and Cabo most recently --- and this is by far the best customer service we have ever received. The resort made sure we connected with staff that shared our interests -- mine was scuba diving and my wife and daughter were wellness. I dove at least 10 days there and the guides and sites were remarkable each time. My wife and daughter loved the fitness classes and daily wellness classes. Breakfasts were the culinary highlight. The scope of the buffet was staggering and the pastries were to die for. The dinner offerings were geared to Asian and Mediterrian cuisines which my family found to be excellent. Our over-the-water villa was picturesque and spacious. Our room attendant made sure every detail was met and even made special arrangements for romantic evenings for couples. The huge deck with hammocks, a plunge pool and tons of covered and uncovered seating doubled the room space. I had not ridden a bike in years, but quickly re-learned as that is the way you get from place to place on the island. It soon became a passion as it was fun to bike from end to end with a new experience or sight around every corner. The only negative of our trip was our flight back home from Male to DFW on Qatar Airways. We were slated to leave on Dec. 22nd and get home Dec. 23rd to spend Christmas with family. As we were about to take off, there was a mechanical failure that stranded us. Rather than stepping us to ameliorate the harm caused, Qatar Airways compounded their failure by repeatedly lying about rebooking us requiring us to spend most of a sleepless night begging their rude and unhelpful customer service representatives to rebook us. When they finally did their job, there were only three business class seat home remaining so I had to remain in Doha alone and leave the next day. Our family's carefully planned Christmas was ruined and after months of complaints, Qatar's only offer was a $1,200 flight credit against $33,500 worth of tickets. Management & Care: Ahmed Ayoub: We encountered a few housekeeping issues upon check-in, but Ayoub handled them swiftly and professionally. We deeply appreciated his open-minded attitude in receiving our feedback and his dedication to ensuring the rest of our stay was smooth and seamless. Nafey: A huge thank you to Nafey for looking after us throughout our stay and seeing us off at the seaplane departure. His detailed introduction to the resort gave us so many reasons to return. Warmest congratulations to him on becoming a father very soon! Outstanding Team Members: Adit: Provided phenomenal service during our Mid-Ocean Dinner. We had a wonderful conversation sharing our mutual experiences of Bali (The Mulia). Vilu Photographer: Captured breathtaking drone videos and photos for us that we will treasure forever. Ismile: Delivered warm, cheerful service, crafted delicious customized milkshakes for us, and kindly introduced the Treehouse Dinner. Niwell: Enthusiastically introduced all the exciting Christmas and New Year festive programs at the resort. Nimo: Shared wonderful honeymoon memories from Four Seasons Bali, making our poolside relaxation even more enjoyable. Dayu: Left a very sweet impression on us. After realizing she had made a minor error explaining the tiramisu recipe, she took the initiative to come over, apologize, and explain it correctly. Such a lovely and dedicated person! AyurMa Spa: The experience at AyurMa Spa was absolutely mind-blowing. We tried the four-hand synchronized massage—it was incredibly relaxing and comfortable. Being in a natural, open-air pavilion rather than an air-conditioned room made the entire wellness experience truly unique and rejuvenating. Thank you, Four Seasons, for the wonderful hospitality. We had a wonderful stay at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru and truly enjoyed the beautiful natural environment around the resort. The marine life in the surrounding waters was very rich, and snorkelling was one of the highlights of our stay. We saw many colourful fish and really appreciated how well the resort protects and presents the local marine ecosystem. The only regret was that during our five-day stay, we unfortunately did not receive a Manta-on-Call notification. As seeing mantas was one of the main reasons for our visit, this was a little disappointing. However, we are very grateful that the team helped us arrange a private manta safari on the day before our departure. One small suggestion would be to inform guests upon arrival that private safari options are available. If I had known about this option from the first day, I would have been very happy to arrange a private customised safari earlier, which might have given us a better chance to see them. Overall, we were very satisfied with the resort, the service, and the incredible marine environment. It was a memorable stay, and we hope to return again in the future.

Had the most wonderful stay in paradise. The whole team and resort was top notch and would like to extend recognition to both Tholley from Housekeeping and Gina from reception. They provided first class service and were most welcoming. The housekeeping team also had a wonderful time so experienced and rooms were so clean and in immaculate condition.

Since my last Maldives review, which was 6 (Maldives) trips ago, I am the fist to admit to getting older makes you a bit more spoiled.. The Four Seasons sunset pool villas must be the absolute pinnacle of luxury you can expect from such a brand. This paired with the fact that all level of staff did their utmost to accommodate us for our honeymoon. If you are into diving, this location also happens to be within the national reservoir including the largest Manta population around. Therefore, diving is a must, and specially at this location. If you don't dive, they even give you a "Manta Nokia mobile" for short notice alerts towards snorklers to see them as well. This is a natural island, plenty of vegetation as it originally was a coconut plantation. The extensive spa includes all the variations of yoga and treatments in general. Only possible tip of improvement would be to list all the activities and dinner reservations etc on each guests' personal chat group for the week. We are very impressed by the attention to all details and the cleaningness of the villa, as well as the genuine community among the staff. We will be back!!
