Bahia Principe Escape Tequila

My husband and I were booked at this resort Sept 11-18 2026- weather was wonderful but we were unaware of how much of a party resort this place was. Because it was low season, only the buildings close to the pool and lobby were open and there was music and bass bumping all day and all night until 1am. My husband had to put on his noise cancelling headphones to try to sleep. Eventually we did ask to switch resorts because we were looking for a more relaxing experience, and we went to the Sian Kaan instead where we had better sleep. The staff at this resort were all nice and we had a good experience there, just go elsewhere if you want to sleep instead of party.

I stayed 1 week at the Grand Tequila. My room was near the Casita and pool. I had no disturbances from the music. The buffet food was good especially at Akumal. The hotel room was clean. The public bathrooms around the resorts were spotless as well. Everyone was kind and I felt extremely safe as a solo traveler. I did two specialty restaurants, Mexican and Brazilian steakhouse. Both were surprisingly disappointing. The hotel sheets and pillows smelled terrible and continuously damp. I even changed rooms because of the humidity in the room. My second room wasn't much better. If I were to return to this resort I would stay at Akumal for easier access to their buffet, pools, and beach. I enjoyed going to each hotel throughout my stay. Please note, the nightly shows and beach parties had an additional charge. I assumed that would have been free at an all inclusive. Each hotel had singers or dj in the courtyard every night at no extra cost. They had an all female mariachi band and they were phenomenal. If I was doing this trip over I would: 1. Bring my own sheets and pillows. 2. Bring snacks. I don't believe there were anywhere to get food late at night. 3. Expect to pay for entertainment 4. Get a facial half way through the trip because the humidity is intense. 5. Walk around Hacienda Doña Isabel before purchasing. I didnt walk around and then saw a gorgeous straw bag I would have purchased. 6. Walk with much more cash.

We had a fantastic time at the tequila tasting, very informative and comprehensive. The tequilas we tasted were very nice, however the accompanying food prepared by the resort's head chef was absolutely sublime. I would definitely recommend it if you're here for a holiday.

We had a wonderful experience at the Smoked Restaurant with all staff, including waiter and chef going out of their way to cater for my wife’s numerous food allergies. Thank you all so much!

Beautiful resort staffed by beautiful people. Nothing is too much trouble and any help you need is always on hand.
