Fantastic 10-Day Stay at Akasha Beach Hotel & Spa
My partner and I returned from a fantastic 10-day holiday at Akasha Beach Hotel & Spa in Hersonissos, Crete, in June this year and overall we had a wonderful experience.
The hotel itself is stunning, with modern, stylish rooms and beautiful facilities throughout. We would definitely recommend paying extra for a sea view room as the views are incredible and really add to the experience.
Before arriving, we had read a few reviews suggesting that the service could be inconsistent, so we were a little concerned. However, from the moment we arrived, we found every member of staff to be friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming.
A special mention has to go to Eva in the breakfast restaurant. Every morning she greeted us with a smile, remembered our usual order and always went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Small touches like this really made our stay feel personal.
We would also like to thank Popi and Despina at the rooftop bar. Their friendly personalities and constant smiles were a huge reason why we chose to spend so much time there each day. They created such a lovely atmosphere and always made us feel welcome. The rooftop area became one of our favourite spots in the hotel thanks to them.
The buffet offered a great variety of food, with different cuisines available throughout our stay.
The entertainment was enjoyable and provided a nice addition to the evenings.
There were a couple of minor negatives. The biggest issue was the sunbed situation around the pool. With limited sunbeds available, queues would start forming from around 8:30am, which wasn’t ideal and could be frustrating at times. The gym was also quite small and felt a little cramped, especially during busier periods.
We also visited the beach area several times. While it’s convenient that hotel service extends there as well, we personally found the beach quite crowded and the sunbeds positioned very close together, so we preferred spending our time around the hotel’s pools and rooftop area.
We chose not to go all-inclusive and, for us, this was definitely the right decision. The hotel is perfectly located in Hersonissos, with plenty of excellent bars, restaurants, and cafés within easy walking distance, so we never felt that all-inclusive was necessary.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and would happily recommend Akasha Beach Hotel & Spa to anyone visiting Crete. The beautiful hotel, excellent location, and outstanding staff made for a memorable stay. Thank you to Eva, Popi, Despina, and the rest of the team for making our holiday so enjoyable
