Lovely hotel, clean room, comfortable bed and pillows with tea and a coffee machine. Robes and Clarins toiletries 😍 ideal location as a short walk to lake and loads of restaurants. Car available on the street outside which is free or valet parking at 20euros. The choice at breakfast amazing and very friendly staff, highly recommend

We stayed for 9 nights and were delighted with the hotel and the staff. We were a bit apprehensive initially based on reviews but our experience was excellent. We stayed in sea view room with a plunge pool on the second floor, and were not troubled by the one-way traffic outside at all. While I can see why some people would find the open-plan bathroom off-putting, it was better than we expected and we found the shaded shower screen to give adequate privacy. The room was always cleaned to a high standard. The buffet breakfast had extensive choice and also came with a cooked-to-order egg dish. Service in peak rush hour could be a bit slapdash but the staff were always friendly and quick to correct any mistakes. The pool areas were clean and while busy, we never had issues finding sunbeds. The upper pool bar had closed for the season which was a shame, but it did make for a relaxing sun trap. The spa facilities were small but well maintained and the team - Valentina and Michaela especially - were so friendly and helpful. All the staff were, in fact. There were a few things that were a bit frustrating - the turndown service was unpredictable (some nights we had it, others we didn't), and we had to collect our beach towels a few times after we weren't given fresh ones. The beach was mostly a concrete jetty, which didn't make for the nicest place to hang out. And finally, the route from our room to the main pool/breakfast area was convoluted - as others have noted, it required multiple elevator trips. But none of these things were anything more than slight annoyances and they certainly didn't detract from our enjoyment of the stay. I would acknowledge that we were staying at the very end of the season, and the hotel and Agios Niklaos generally were very quiet - I'm not sure, if we had stayed during a busier part of the summer, that I would have had such a positive experience. I can definitely see how areas can get crowded or staff overwhelmed if the hotel was near capacity, but we felt we'd timed it very well, and left feeling relaxed and taken care of.

Beautiful location and hotel. Very relaxing and wonderful views. The spa was very nice and my spa ambassador Michaela was amazing. Would definitely return.

First time visited Crete and certainly won’t be the last, fabulous stay at this hotel, the staff are very attentive to your needs, Joanna in the restaurant so happy and friendly a credit to your establishment, the sax player at breakfast was amazing to listen to. There aren’t enough words to praise this place so go check it out yourselves..

The location was quiet and relaxing, the staff were friendly and attentive extremely helpful especially Joanna who worked in the restaurant as a waitress, the saxophone man who played in the morning occasionally was amazing, the room was clean and spacious, it was great value for money will definitely be returning next year
