Has a lovely week at Numo, the service is excellent from the check in through to the restaurant staff and the guys at the pool & beach. We arrived very late and was shown to our room & the night staff even bought us a plate of cold meat and cheese even though we were only bed & breakfast. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with the room as it was much smaller than what I thought I had booked so I called reception and he said to speak to the staff in the morning. The following morning I went to reception and they contacted me within 10 minutes to say they had another room to show me. This room was exactly how I imagined and we were much happier. Must just comment on the showers as it was perfect, plenty of hot water always and the pressure was excellent along with the toiletries. Every time we got out we both said oh what a lovely shower - well done. The staff moved all our luggage whilst we were at the beach and made the whole change very easy. The beach and pool area had plenty of sunbeds and we never had a problem getting one. We mainly went to the beach as it wasn’t quite as windy and there was a buzzer next to each sunbed if you wanted food or drink, although you rarely had to press it as the staff were always walking past and asking if you needed anything. Big shout out to Sandip who went out of his way to speak to us every day and always checked if we needed anything. The burgers on the beach were particularly good and we only ate in the restaurant a couple of days when the weather wasn’t as good. Unfortunately the à la carte restaurant was not open the whole season which is a real shame as I think many people would have liked to have eaten there. The buffet restaurant was a good standard though and we ate there a couple of times and reasonably priced at €35 pp. The other nights we went into town. If costs €10 by taxi each way and there were plenty of restaurants overlooking the sea, our favourite was Zorba , it had great food and very reasonably priced. There is also a shop just next to the hotel where you can get most things if you have forgotten something and we stocked up with bottles of water and some crisps for the beach. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice, we only went once as we don’t often eat breakfast but they did get me an apple each day even though they weren’t serving apples on the buffet. In the evening there is a different film on the outside cinema and we did sit one night and watch, could have done with some blankets as it gets a bit chilly towards the end of the film. There is also a nice outside bar and plenty of seats and firepits. Overall would definitely recommend. This is a small hotel with excellent service levels.

For us there were some red flags with this hotel: the most significant one being the dining arrangements. The other restaurant on site was fully closed and not available leaving the main ( and only) dining area. This restaurant does a very good job at lunchtime, however in the evening it is essentially posh school dinners. Not only is it posh school dinners the staff try and get everyone out by 930/945!! Part of the reason may be that there were a large number of German guests who generally eat early. We saw a queue at 630pm ( still 32 odd degrees outside) waiting for the doors to open!! By 945pm this Mediterranean hotel restaurant was like the Marie Celeste. in most Mediterranean countries people don't even go out to eat until 9pm.... The hotel is pretty much alone. There is nowhere really nearby and nowhere to go. Taxis only to get anywhere else hence half board was compulsory. The bar by the main pool was ok, but without it this hotel would be a disaster, with nothing to do at night really. Open air cinema was mostly dated films. The look of the place is good, it presents well, but I think having decided to go school dinners and close the other restaurant ( one assumes for money/staffing) reasons it loses it luxury lure completely. Staff were ok save an appallingly brusque welcome on arrival and an upgrade promise that never materialised. We had a room basically over the reception car park area. Not good. if you want a quiet ( windy) trip as a couple and do not mind being ushered out of dinner early and off to your room then this place would be fine. We did mind, and we will not be going back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Numo Beach Resort. The environment is absolutely beautiful and immaculately clean. The gardens are lovely too. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. We found the reception team and guest services particularly helpful. We chose an Aterre Terrace room (3006) and it was perfect….very spacious, lovely bathroom with walk in shower and twin sinks. Our terrace looked out on to the gardens and looking at the location of other rooms not all are able to enjoy the view we had. There are two pool areas. The quiet pool is smaller and very quiet. The larger pool is located next to the pool bar and the buffet restaurant. The pool itself is huge with plenty of loungers. There is nice background music playing and a lovely view of the sea even if you are seated at the far end of the pool. The main à la carte restaurant is currently closed, but the buffet restaurant offers a very large selection of freshly prepared delicious food, with lots of variety. The pool bar is lovely, again a large selection of drinks, cocktails and there is a also a small bar menu. A real feather in Numo’s cap is the Spa. On arrival guests are offered a complimentary 15 minute massage which we took up. We then booked a 45 mins head, neck and shoulder massage which was amazing. Both girls were excellent and so lovely! Numo ticks alot of boxes, but there are a couple of things that we think would make it even better. Firstly the fact that they charge for the use of coffee capsules in the room seems a little unnecessary in a 5 Star hotel and not something we have experienced in any other hotel of a similar calibre It would be better to add a little more to the cost of the room, rather than having it as a separate charge….just better optics! Whilst the breakfast selection is varied, we agree with another reviewer…an egg station would be a good addition, to give the option of freshly prepared omelette etc. We also felt that it would have been nice to have the option of an à la carte restaurant for dinner, given that there is nothing else within walking distance of the hotel. Apparently Menoa in its previous guise was Peruvian/Japanese and there are plans to reopen at some point. There are however some lovely restaurants a short taxi ride away Ierapetra - Vira Potzi and Koutsounaris Pelagos and Psaropoula. Numo has a rule that towels are not available by the pool until 10 am. We saw a few very cross people unfairly being rude to the poor girl who was having to explain this. One woman demanded she give her a towel and when the girl refused, she said she was going to see the hotel manager…who did she think made the rules?! Certainly not the girl at the towel station!! There will always be clients who insist on bagging their lounger before the birds are awake and they get around the system by taking their towels back to their rooms the day before! Perhaps this is something the hotel needs to rethink? One last observation! The outdoor cinema is great, but if you happen to be sitting in the bar the cinema sound is SO loud it drowns out the music in the bar. It was so bad one day, we decided to take our drinks back to our room and sit on our terrace. Although there are a couple of small things we felt Numo could do better, they are small and we would definitely go back again. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who looked after us so well.
