We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Numo Beach Resort. The environment is absolutely beautiful and immaculately clean. The gardens are lovely too. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. We found the reception team and guest services particularly helpful. We chose an Aterre Terrace room (3006) and it was perfect….very spacious, lovely bathroom with walk in shower and twin sinks. Our terrace looked out on to the gardens and looking at the location of other rooms not all are able to enjoy the view we had. There are two pool areas. The quiet pool is smaller and very quiet. The larger pool is located next to the pool bar and the buffet restaurant. The pool itself is huge with plenty of loungers. There is nice background music playing and a lovely view of the sea even if you are seated at the far end of the pool. The main à la carte restaurant is currently closed, but the buffet restaurant offers a very large selection of freshly prepared delicious food, with lots of variety. The pool bar is lovely, again a large selection of drinks, cocktails and there is a also a small bar menu. A real feather in Numo’s cap is the Spa. On arrival guests are offered a complimentary 15 minute massage which we took up. We then booked a 45 mins head, neck and shoulder massage which was amazing. Both girls were excellent and so lovely! Numo ticks alot of boxes, but there are a couple of things that we think would make it even better. Firstly the fact that they charge for the use of coffee capsules in the room seems a little unnecessary in a 5 Star hotel and not something we have experienced in any other hotel of a similar calibre It would be better to add a little more to the cost of the room, rather than having it as a separate charge….just better optics! Whilst the breakfast selection is varied, we agree with another reviewer…an egg station would be a good addition, to give the option of freshly prepared omelette etc. We also felt that it would have been nice to have the option of an à la carte restaurant for dinner, given that there is nothing else within walking distance of the hotel. Apparently Menoa in its previous guise was Peruvian/Japanese and there are plans to reopen at some point. There are however some lovely restaurants a short taxi ride away Ierapetra - Vira Potzi and Koutsounaris Pelagos and Psaropoula. Numo has a rule that towels are not available by the pool until 10 am. We saw a few very cross people unfairly being rude to the poor girl who was having to explain this. One woman demanded she give her a towel and when the girl refused, she said she was going to see the hotel manager…who did she think made the rules?! Certainly not the girl at the towel station!! There will always be clients who insist on bagging their lounger before the birds are awake and they get around the system by taking their towels back to their rooms the day before! Perhaps this is something the hotel needs to rethink? One last observation! The outdoor cinema is great, but if you happen to be sitting in the bar the cinema sound is SO loud it drowns out the music in the bar. It was so bad one day, we decided to take our drinks back to our room and sit on our terrace. Although there are a couple of small things we felt Numo could do better, they are small and we would definitely go back again. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who looked after us so well.

My husband and I were so excited to visit Numo Ierapetra for our honeymoon. We had a lovely 2 weeks but given the amount of money it costs we felt compelled to write this review as our experience did not reflect the 5 star rating and reputation of this resort. On arrival our room was not ready. We saw this happen to other guests too. We were not greeted with a welcome drink or any kind of wedding congratulations. When we finally got to check in to our room we found it very comfortable, spotlessly clean and had a beautiful terrace by the small swimming pool. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well as the place is generally quiet We had a relaxing time, mostly by the pool or beach. The highlight was the beautiful view across the sea and blue skies. Our holiday was restful as there’s not a great deal to do. The local town is a taxi ride away and was very quiet and not at all touristy which we enjoyed. However, there is nothing writhing walking distance from the hotel. The mini market next door was however essential since the mini bar and drinks around the beach and pool are extortionate prices. Not even free coffee pods in the room and they are of low quality. We enjoyed a cocktail at the bar after dinner. The barman was very friendly but the place was lifeless with generic music and high prices. We don’t expect to pay around €15 a drink to sit in a lifeless bar every evening. The food was ok. Not 5 star either. Plentiful but only really catered for a certain pallet and very rich, over complicated dishes. You should also be aware that water is not included and costs almost 5 euros a bottle and is served warm. The coffee machine is also turned off for dinner. This was shocking service for the cost of staying here. I am not nitpicking. Numo has a lot to learn. The whole place lacked the character and warmth we’ve come to expect from our travels across Greece. In fact, the whole place could be anywhere in the world as it had none of the Greek hospitality, fun and family vibes. An instagram influencer dream photo opportunity but little else.

Fantastic hotel if you want an unpretentious, chilled, luxury vibe. Immaculately clean, service is excellent. Quiet pool, plus main pool with music and direct access to private beach. Very attentive bar service to pool and beach. There is a gym, but small with basic equipment. You wont be doing any Hyrox training, but fine for a 'on holiday' session or two. We didnt play tennis, but court was clean and well kept. Outdoor cinema a great feature. Recommend a garden terrace room. Perfect position overlooking quiet pool and a little more room. Ladies (and some men) make sure to bring a vanity mirror! Room is a little style over function. Looks great, but wardrobe space is limited and our cases had to be left on the terrace as no room for them in the room without being on show. Minor point, but the replacement coffee capsules aren't free! If you like a few coffees, id recommend you bring a box of capsules with you! Location is lovely with the beach, but if you like walking to local town / taverna you'll be disappointed. Very much a taxi ride away - fixed price 10Euros, and no hassle, but no evening strolls! Bare in mind also that the airport is 1hr40m away and tbere are currently major roadworks across the island. Hotel is trying to combat sunbed reserving, but this does need to be policed harder... Overall, a super hotel and very much recommended.
