Rhodos Horizon Marina

We spent 11 nights here at the end of September as a family of 4 adults and I can honestly say I’ve never stayed in a hotel so immaculately clean all the time. The rooms are well equipped, including mini bar which is restocked everyday, the bathrooms are on the smaller side but more than adequate and who spends much time in there anyway. The staff were amazing, all of them so friendly and helpful, particular shout outs to Izabelle, Maria and Sonia in the restaurant and Sophia and Kevin, front of house. Phil the manager was around a lot of the time too and had a great sense of humour! The pool area again was very clean and the pool itself was a good size, if a little cold at times, however we were grateful for this on occasions. The food was very tasty too, there was always plenty of choice, including vegetarian and the chefs were always there cooking fresh dishes. The entertainment was very good and we all enjoyed it. The beach is situated just across the road and the old town is a 10 minute bus ride away or about a 25 minute walk, which we did on a couple occasions. Well worth a visit. We met some lovely people from all walks of life and had so much fun with them. Would I recommend this hotel, absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, it’s great value for money and you’d be hard pushed to better it. I try to be as balanced as possible when submitting reviews so will start with the positives and finish with the negatives. We arrived on an evening (myself and my daughter) having missed time slot for evening meal. The lady on reception was very pleasant and polite and explained everything we needed to know. Check in was quick and we were provided with a sandwich and a glass of fizz. When I got into the room, to my surprise they had left balloons and a birthday cake and a bottle of Prosecco for my birthday. It was a lovely gesture. The room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom is small but I didn’t consider this to be a problem. Beds are super comfy. A safe is provided free of charge. Not much space to hang clothes unfortunately. I had to leave half my stuff in my case for the week. A good size clothes airer on the balcony. There is a fridge that provides free drinks as part of the all inclusive package and is restocked daily, there is a kettle and tea and coffee provided. The hotel is very clean throughout. The staff are very pleasant and accommodating although the bar staff in the day seem unfriendly everything seems a chore for them. There are reviews saying drinks are served in plastic cups, this is only around the pool area for safety reasons. Real glasses are provided in the restaurant and bar. There is a lovely beach just across the road. €20 for two beds and an umbrella we used the beach most days and really enjoyed it. €12 euro for a taxi to the old town. It’s around a 25 minute walk. Now for the negatives. There was literally only 1 plug socket in the room we could use. The one at the side of the bed could not be used because the adapter pins were too big for some reason. I found it dangerous because when u used the adapter it pressed on the light switch next to it. The pool area is very cramped and I just found it very uncomfortable being so close to other people, this is why I used the beach more. I found it annoying when people near me were smoking and I was practically inhaling it myself. The food in the restaurant was to a good standard however it was repetitive and resembled a school canteen. I felt it was a mad rush to get your food, people were coming from all directions and you felt as though you were in the way. Often they had ran out of glasses spoons etc, and did not replace them quickly enough. All in all we have had a great time and thank all the staff for making our holiday special.

Positives: By far and away the greatest asset to this hotel is the staff. From reception to the cleaners bar staff and restaurant staff, all are lovely. The only miserable staff member I come across was the omelette man at breakfast. Shout out to Anastasia in the dining room and Anda in the bar. Food: Breakfast was lovely. Pasties were fresh. Eggs done every way possible. Greek salad at lunch was always fresh and tasty. Evening meal always had roast lamb or pork on the grill. Also chicken or pork skewers. Deserts were plentiful including a section with various Greek deserts. Beer was served in glass tankard type vessel. We had a couple of maintenance issues whilst there. Someone came to the room & fixed the issues almost immediately. Free pool towels which you can change whenever you like. Free safe. As well as the beer, water and soft drinks in the fridge (which was replaced by cleaners) there was a gift of a bottle of Ouzo, white wine, Greek honey, and sweets which was a lovely touch. Negatives: The location was the main reason that we didn’t score this hotel 5. It felt very isolated. Only 2 single sockets in the room. We were lucky that we didn’t ever have to queue for a sun bed but I think that was down to the time of year we were there. Others reviewers say there aren’t enough sun beds but I honestly don’t know how they would fix this as the pool area is very cramped as it is. The pillows were far too hard and fat for me. All in all a wonderful hotel. We wouldn’t return though purely based on location

We had a wonderful time at this hotel, everything was great from start to finish. The rooms are incredibly spacious, comfortable, and kept spotless. All inclusive food and drinks were consistently delicious with plenty of great options to choose from. The absolute highlight is the beautiful beach located just steps away. I would definitely stay here again!

Right here goes..... 1. Rooms. Very small, bathrooms tiny and noisy and inefficient air conditioning. Nowhere to put all of our clothes however no complaints regarding the cleaners everywhere was kept spotless. 2. Food and drink. Not the worst we have ever had but by far not the best. We spent at least 3 days ill ( i had projectile vomiting) i did eat outside the hotel and am blaming an orange juice drink from Lindos so can not link this to the hotel . However on departure a lady we chatted with said many had fallen ill with the moussaka 3.Ameneties... The pool area is way too cramped. The beach however a little rustic is very good with a shallow gradient on the sandy beach and clean cool sea with plenty of fish to entertain the acid snorkeling. The atmosphere as stated in previous reviews is nonexistent. A very drab hotel......... 4.Location.. About 20 mins from the old town in a residential area. I wouldnt at alm say its unsafe . Just not a lot going on. A couple of low key bars and restaurants within. Easy reach.. we had a bike so didnt use a taxi but be warned the hotel is only on a secondary bus route where the loop bus passes the hotel about 20 past the hour. 5. Overall. All the staff were amazing. Very attentive . Especially the reception ladies. The AI drinks were served in dirty beakers or glasses. Quite often they had bits of lemon and pineapple from previous drinks on them and I have returned home with probably the worst cold I have had in 20 years. Loungers.... funny ... there are signs saying towels removed after 30 mins if unattended. What a joke...some were left unattended until 4pm then the towels were collected in as the guests returned from a trip. We previously stayed at Rhodos Horizon City and enjoyed our experience. We trusted the random. However. We feel disappointed and would definitely not return. P.s. without a motorbike we would have been massively depressed
