I left Magic Life Plimmiri feeling disappointed because the hotel didn't live up to the standard I expected from a 5-star all-inclusive resort. Being an avid traveller and staying in lots of other 5-star resorts, this has by far been the poorest. One thing that stood out straight away was the lack of cleanliness around the pool. Throughout our stay, I didn't see anyone collecting the empty plastic cups or straws left behind by guests. As it was often windy, they were blown all over the pool area, leaving it looking untidy for much of the day. The buffet restaurants were another let-down. There was no table service for drinks, meaning you had to leave your meal to queue at the drinks stations. Around breakfast time, staff were mopping the floors while guests were walking through to eat. Although there were a few wet floor signs, the floors were still extremely slippery and didn't feel safe. I saw a number of travellers slipping on them. Although the hotel is advertised as being family-friendly, we found that many of the organised activities had a minimum age of 16. This meant there was much less for families with younger children to enjoy together than we had expected. The alternative was to put the children into the kids' club, but that defeats the purpose if you're looking to spend quality time together as a family on holiday. As my children are 12 and 14, they just wanted to join in with a few of the games, but as mentioned unless it was advertised as ‘family’ they weren’t allowed. The one football there was only 3 over 16’s playing with a member from the animation team and about 15 other children outside watching as they weren’t allowed to join in. Booking one of the speciality restaurants proved far more difficult than it should have been. After eventually getting a reservation, we found plenty of empty tables, so it was hard to understand why it had been so difficult to book. The meal itself felt rushed, with courses arriving one after another without any break in between. Staff also started clearing plates before everyone at the table had finished eating, making the whole experience feel hurried rather than enjoyable. The accommodation was also disappointing. The rooms felt tired and dated, and the level of cleanliness was below what I would expect from a hotel advertising itself as 5-star. Not even a shaving plug in the bathroom, which we have never not had in the past. Meaning my husband could not plug in his shaver and we couldn’t charge our toothbrushes. Unfortunately, the customer service didn't improve our impression. Several members of staff came across as unfriendly and unwilling to help. It also appeared that guests who spoke German received a warmer welcome and better service, which left us feeling overlooked during our stay. Especially the water sports staff, they were rude and did not ignorant. Particularly the lady who wears that pink lipstick on her lips and eyebrows. However the animation team were all friendly and approachable. There was a lot of Germans there and as an English family we were seen as below them. They got served first, talked to in a nicer manner and priority. 80% of the Germans just push infront of you when you are queuing, and then strangely can’t understand you when you say there is a queue. As an English family we have high morals and treat everyone with manners and respect, unfortunately this is not the treatment that was reciprocated. Overall, the hotel has some lovely surroundings, but the service, maintenance and overall guest experience didn't justify its rating. Between the poor customer service, lack of attention to cleanliness, limited activities for families to enjoy together, and disappointing dining experience, it wasn't the relaxing family holiday we had hoped for. Unfortunately, I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at Magic Life Plimmiri. Throughout our holiday, it felt like German-speaking guests were treated much better than everyone else. The rooms were very dated and not as clean as we expected. Our wardrobe door was hanging off its hinges, which should have been repaired before guests arrived. We've stayed in 4-star hotels that were much cleaner and in far better condition. For a hotel of this standard, it was very disappointing. The staff were often rude, unhelpful, and inconsistent. At the bar, I asked for a milkshake and was told they had finished. Moments later, a German-speaking guest asked for the same thing and was given a milkshake without any problem. We also struggled to get a booking at one of the speciality restaurants. After finally managing to get a reservation, the restaurant was almost empty, making it even more frustrating that it had been so difficult to book. Despite there being very few guests, we were made to feel rushed throughout the meal. Staff encouraged us to eat quickly and leave, and one member of staff even took my nephew's plate while he was still eating. We were served and finished three courses in just 35 minutes, which completely took away from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. Another concern was that staff mopped the floors around the main restaurant and central walkways between approximately 7:00 am and 9:00 am, when many guests were heading to breakfast. The floors became extremely slippery and felt like a serious accident waiting to happen. It would make much more sense to do this before guests started using the area or after the breakfast rush. The pool area was also poorly maintained throughout the day. Empty cups and straws were left lying around the pool for long periods, and with the strong wind they were blown everywhere. There didn't appear to be anyone regularly collecting them, which made the area look untidy and neglected. For a hotel claiming to offer a premium all-inclusive experience, we were also surprised that there was no waiter service for drinks in the restaurants. Guests had to leave their meals to queue for drinks themselves, which took away from the dining experience. On our last day, we went to the snack bar to get something to eat before our journey home. We were told there were no cobs available, even though the snack bar was still open for another hour. We explained that we were leaving and just needed something to keep us going until we travelled, but the staff simply said no. It was only after asking to speak to the manager that, suddenly, a box of ready-made cobs appeared. Clearly, they were available all along. A member of staff called Caria at the beach was particularly rude when we asked about the watersports. Rather than being helpful, she made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Overall, the customer service was poor and left us feeling unwelcome. Based on our experience, it appeared that German-speaking guests received preferential treatment. If you're not a German speaker, don't expect the same level of service. Between the poor service, dated rooms, lack of cleanliness, rushed dining experience, and inconsistent treatment of guests, this was not the 5-star holiday we expected. Sadly, we won't be returning and cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience.

Nicole was a very good masseuse. Every time she moved to a different part of the body she checked the pressure was good. I really enjoyed the stretching as well as the deep tissue.
