TUI MAGIC LIFE Plimmiri by Atlantica

We recently stayed at TUI MAGIC LIFE Plimmiri with our 8-month-old daughter, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. There are a few things that really stood out to us, and some people who deserve special recognition. First impressions – and a very special welcome First of all, a little heads-up about getting there: the transfer from the airport takes around two hours by bus. And yes, after a flight, especially with an 8-month-old baby, that is quite a tough journey. We arrived from Belgium completely exhausted. But here's the thing: the remote location is part of what makes this resort so special. Once you arrive, you understand why the journey is worth it. The peaceful surroundings, the absence of all the usual hustle and bustle, and the feeling of really being away from everything are exactly what make it such a relaxing place to stay. And something else worth mentioning: the resort is even more beautiful in real life than in the pictures. The photos really don't do it justice. The grounds, the atmosphere, the layout, the surroundings… everything looks and feels even better when you're actually there. Upon arrival, we were welcomed at the front desk by Val, who checked us in. Some people just have that X-factor when it comes to dealing with people. They have this natural ability to read a situation, understand what someone needs, and act accordingly, without you even having to ask. Val is one of those people. She immediately made us feel at ease, handled our check-in smoothly, and gave us all the information we needed. It was exactly the kind of welcome we needed after a long journey. Our room was clean, quiet, sufficiently dark for a good night's sleep, and equipped with everything we needed. The spacious living area was particularly convenient when travelling with a baby and stroller. The resort – the perfect balance between doing something and doing absolutely nothing The buffet offers everything you'd expect from a good all-inclusive experience, with plenty of choice. But what makes Plimmiri special, in our opinion, is the layout of the resort. Rather than staying in one enormous hotel building, you're staying in smaller, apartment-style buildings spread across beautifully maintained grounds. Throughout the resort, you'll find different facilities: a dedicated coffee house, several restaurants, separate bars, and more. This creates a surprisingly enjoyable feeling of actually going somewhere and doing something, while technically doing very little at all. And isn't that exactly what a relaxing holiday should be? We loved taking little walks with our daughter, heading over to the coffee house, grabbing a drink somewhere, or simply exploring the grounds. It gives the whole resort a relaxed, almost village-like atmosphere. The pools and beach are also very well maintained. Another thing we appreciated was that the lifeguards clearly take their responsibilities seriously. They don't mess around when it comes to safety, and they shouldn't! As parents with a young child, that gave us an extra sense of reassurance. The resort advertises itself as family-friendly, and we can confidently say that it genuinely lives up to that promise. The staff are wonderful with children. Not in a forced or over-the-top way, but with genuine warmth and kindness. Whether it was a waiter, someone from housekeeping, or another member of staff, everyone seemed happy to help whenever they could. The waiters in particular deserve recognition for the excellent job they do, day after day. You can tell that people are putting in the effort, and it makes an enormous difference to the overall experience. Lou – the energy behind the entertainment Another person who deserves a special mention is Lou, the assistant manager of the entertainment team. What an absolute character! If you've stayed at Plimmiri, chances are you know exactly who we're talking about. Lou somehow manages to make it look like he's running the entire entertainment operation single-handedly. And to be fair, sometimes it genuinely feels like he is! He's there first thing in the morning, waking everyone up with his poolside radio announcements, enthusiastically presenting everything the day has to offer with the confidence and charisma of a proper showman. And somehow, he's still there at the very end of the day, giving it his all at the Wunderbar. The energy this man brings is something else. We've experienced other all-inclusive resorts before, but Lou genuinely stood out. His enthusiasm is contagious, his presence adds so much to the atmosphere, and he clearly puts his heart into what he does. Lou, you rock. Seriously. Keep doing what you're doing! And finally, Val – the person who made us feel at home I want to come back to Val at the front desk, because she really deserves more than just a mention for our check-in. This was our very first holiday with our 8-month-old daughter. As any parent will understand, travelling with a baby comes with a certain amount of uncertainty, especially the first time. From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out, Val made us feel completely at ease. Whenever we needed something, she was there to help. For example, when our daughter threw up on the bedsheets, Val quickly arranged for fresh sheets and housekeeping assistance. No fuss, no complications, just someone genuinely happy to help. But it was the little things that made the biggest impression. Whenever we crossed paths, she'd ask how we were doing, how the baby was doing, whether everything was going well. And yes, I understand that front desk staff are trained to be welcoming, polite, and attentive. But there's a difference between being professionally friendly and being genuinely caring. You can't really train that. You can't fake it convincingly, either. It's something you either have or you don't. Val has it. It's difficult to put into words exactly what made her stand out so much, but she managed to make a large holiday resort feel personal. Almost like coming home. And that is something we'll remember long after the holiday itself. Final thoughts What makes TUI MAGIC LIFE Plimmiri special isn't just the beautiful, peaceful setting, the facilities, or the all-inclusive experience. It's the combination of that relaxing environment with the right people in the right places. People who have that little extra something. That X-factor. People who make you feel welcome, who genuinely care about their work, and who turn a pleasant holiday into an unforgettable one. Maybe we were simply lucky to meet the right people. Or maybe someone in the HR department is doing an exceptionally good job of finding them! Either way, whatever you're doing, please keep doing it. And I sincerely hope the staff are being paid and appreciated accordingly, because from what we experienced, they absolutely deserve it. Everyone works incredibly hard, and we didn't encounter a single person who seemed unwilling to make an effort. Thank you to the entire team at Plimmiri, and an extra special thank you to Val and Lou. You made our first holiday as a family of three one we'll never forget. We would happily come back!
