Caramelo Calvia Beach Adults Only +21

This was our 3rd time staying at this hotel and i am incredibly disappointed. When we first stayed here it was newly refurbished and I couldn’t fault the place. However, this time it was an awful stay. Firstly, we were over looking the hotel next door which seems to be a rough party hotel and every night we got woken up by loud teenagers shouting on their balcony’s, along with people screaming on the slingshot that’s right on the hotel. Our room was DIRTY. The shower head was filthy, looked like it had never been cleaned. Our shower over filled 3 times on our stay and I reported it every time. Was never fixed, seems to be a common issue as another lady was reporting the same issue at the same time as me. I used our white floor mat to mop up the water from the shower, picked it up and it was brown from the dirty floor. I reported this to reception and it took the maids 3 times of me asking to mop our floors. There are so many areas that need sorting, the sealant in the rooms has come away, there’s been a leak in the ceiling above the shower that’s been patched up, the brick work on the balcony is horrendous and looks patched up too which is very worrying. I stayed in a 4 star in Greece in May and it was miles above this place. Definitely is more a 3 star than a 4. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be staying here again now.

Was a bit concerned with some reviews but was fortunate enough to have experienced no problems with noise. The room was nice and clean, the bathroom nice, shower excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good with something for everyone. Had dinner there a couple of times aswell and found it very enjoyable with prices competitive. One moan was that the smaller plunge pool was taken over with annoying groups with balls and drinks which was a shame. Overall though a great hotel.

We stayed at the Caramelo for four nights in August and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. By complete coincidence, our stay fell around the solar eclipse, and we had absolutely no idea when we booked that Majorca was going to be such an incredible place to see it! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. Sam on reception was fantastic – incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He told us we had a gorgeous room with a wraparound balcony and gave us all the information we needed about the hotel and surrounding area. When we got to our room, we were so pleasantly surprised. It was spotlessly clean, really well equipped and the wraparound balcony was amazing, with beautiful views from two sides. Little did we know at the time just how lucky we were to have that particular room – it ended up giving us the perfect view of the solar eclipse right from our own balcony! It made an already special holiday even more memorable. The pool is genuinely one of the best hotel pools I’ve ever been in. The whole hotel has such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, everywhere is kept beautifully clean, the food was great and every member of staff we encountered was friendly and welcoming. We also have to give a special mention to Joey on reception, who was absolutely fabulous. She was always there with a smile and couldn’t have been more helpful, particularly when helping us arrange taxis and anything else we needed. Although we dealt more personally with Sam and Joey, every single member of staff deserves a mention – from the bar staff to the restaurant team and everyone working behind the scenes. You really do have a fantastic team and they are a credit to the Caramelo. We enjoyed our stay so much that we actually rebooked to come back in October before we’d even left! We asked reception if there was any chance we could have the same room again, and amazingly they managed to arrange that for us too, which was the icing on the cake. Thank you to Sam, Joey and the entire Caramelo team for making our stay so special. We arrived as first-time guests and left already counting down the weeks until we return. See you all again in October! ❤️

Everything about this hotel is fantastic! The staff (especially Sam, super friendly & helpful!), the facilities, the beanbags by the pool, the food, the rooms, the views - I have never enjoyed a holiday so much so highly recommend this hotel!!! Such a chill vibe and the location is excellent for both Magaluf and Palmanova. One thing to be mindful of is that the hotel is on a steep hill and there are a lot of steps inside the hotel itself so not good for people with mobility issues. The only negative was the air con in our room, it’s above the door as you enter and didn’t blow into the room and given the high temperature whilst staying there it made sleeping and getting ready a little uncomfortable.

I have just returned from a 7 night stay and cannot fault this hotel. I believe it used to be run under the "Cooks Club" brand, but is now part of the "Globales" chain, the hotel does have Cooks Club vibes and is very similar to other Cooks Club that I have stayed at. Check in was simply. You are given a wrist band which is your door key, hold the wrist band over the door for it to open, you can also add money to your wrist band and use that at the pool bar and restaurant, the hotel is cashless, apart from needing cash to pay the deposit on your pool towels €10 per towel. You can exchange the towels daily and then hand over your towels and receipt when you check out and get your cash back. Breakfast was really good, Cooks Club style. A huge selection of bread, pastries, fruit, cereals, meat and cheese, along with a hot food station where your eggs were cooked to order - omelette, fried or scrambled. Yogurt pots were being made up with fresh fruit as well as avo and smoked salmon on bread or tuna and boiled egg, really tasty. At the smoothie station you could get a small glass of smoothie made fresh, a hot drink machine for a basic black or white coffee, water, fruit juices and Prosecco was also available for free. The bar area made fresh coffee like cappuccino, latte etc and tea which you had to pay for, they also made larger smoothies which again you paid for. The restaurant served food all day from approx 11am, the choice was great and all the food we ate was excellent in taste and value for money. Cocktails varied in price but started at €8.50. The pool area had plenty of sunbeds, majority of them with deep sprung mattresses, there was never a rush to put towels on beds. The pool area didn't open until 9am, I would say most beds were reserved by 10.30, but often people left at lunch time so you would always be able to find one. There are large beanbags around the pool which you can put on the edge of the pool and dip your legs in the water, but don't float around on the bean bag, the lifeguard will bring you back to the edge. You can use small pool floats in the water (we had one that inflates at each end and is attached by mesh for you to lie on)there were also a couple at the side of the pool that had been left by previous guests. We were in room 109 which is at the back of the hotel facing onto another hotel which appeared to be used by younger guests, there was a little bit of noise from them getting ready to go out but i was never woken up by them. You get the late afternoon sun at the back of the hotel. Our bed was firm but that's what we like, the pillows were flat,but again,that's our preference. There were 8 coat hangers but the hanging space wasn't very long, long dresses need to be hung off of the bathroom door or folded in half and put over the hangers. Air conditioning worked well, it was great coming back to a cool room after being out in the hot sun. The hotel is on the edge of the Magaluf bar "strip". We never heard any noise from the strip itself. It does have a reverse bungee ride right next to the hotel which lights up in blue and green, this was great for using as a reference of which way we needed to get back to the hotel. The hotel is up a steep hill but it wasn't that bad, great views on the palma nova bay from the restaurant. Lots of bars and restaurants on the sea front at Magaluf as well as Palma Nova. Short walk to Palma Nova too. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I was to revisit Magaluf. It was perfectly located for us and gave us the peace and relaxation that we needed.
