Caramelo Calvia Beach Adults Only +21

Review based on a 10 night stay in September. Our room was overlooking the pool with a wonderful view of the sea and beach, spacious and clean. A bit noisy from other rooms but nothing bad. We had a problem with our door not closing but rectified quickly. Safe keys can be obtained from reception for a €10 refundable deposit. A/c was just about good enough but I would imagine when it’s 30+ it would struggle. The food was hit and miss. I gave up having breakfast after a few days as it was always cold and I mean cold, not warm, not tepid but cold. Even when I waited for fresh cooked food to be replenished it was still cold. As for the lunch/dinner menu it was amazing, we tried to have lunch and dinner and after a few days we discovered that we could share a meal and still be full up. Apart from a few meals being cold because they were sitting on the side while other dishes were being cooked to complete the order, everything was just delicious. Pizzas are made from scratch, prawns are fresh and huge, in fact they could half the portions and everyone would still be happy. I just don’t understand why people think it’s acceptable to sit eating lunch with no shirt and no footwear, the staff should be informing them to wear restaurant clothes especially when I’ve just spent €20 on my lunch and looking at someone’s hairy back. There’s normally a queue at the cocktail bar in the evenings and never in a rush to bring extra staff over to help. We asked for ice at the pool bar just to keep our water cool and after asking twice in 2 days was told there would be a €2 charge for ice! I went to reception to query the charge and was told that if everyone asked for ice then they would run out. This must be the only hotel in the world that charges for ice, even in England I’ve seen ice making machines in corridors on each floor, they sell bags of ice in the shop down the road and we made a point of not using our money to buy drinks in the hotel after that which would have been over €300 easily. Location is on top of a steep hill which can be accessed from two directions, the main road is a challenge especially when carrying shopping because the hotel doesn’t have shop? Or there’s a more pleasant walk from the Magaluf side which is a little bit easier. The pool was lovely and cool, lifeguard always on duty, never a problem getting a bed before 10am. If you’re under 5ft 5inches tall then you might find it deep as there’s no shallow end and only one set of steps to gain access, there’s also an infinity pool at the top of the stairs which was even colder but I found it very refreshing. Some days the music was dreadful, we are here to relax and was forced to listen to bad rap music with racist/swearing in the lyrics, apparently it’s a staff member’s playlist so we had to endure his music. All in all a pleasant stay with many good memories, especially the chefs, they were great fun to watch and always a smile.

Beautiful hotel. Food and pool was amazing. The half board option with the credit being added each day was such a great idea as you could use it for food and/or drinks. The key card being on your band was great as you never lost your key or had to try and find it. Staff were so friendly, helpful and always had a smile. Special mention to the girls on reception Lara and Maria and also Sam. Nothing was too much trouble. Location was PERFECT! Yes it is on a hill but this just gives you an amazing view of the sea. Highly recommend and hopefully will visit again. Thank you was just the break I needed.

Location was absolutely spot on, right at the end of the strip so easy to get to and from all sides of Magaluf. Food and drink inside the hotel was gorgeous, not one complaint. Chilled day vibes, super comfy sun loungers, beautiful weather and staff so friendly and helpful, always smiling and nothing it too much trouble. Our balcony had a huge balcony that wrapped around, sea view, pool view and the slingshot (room 314) Special mention to Lara, Maria and Sam on reception. Restaurant staff are great too! Would definitely go back for longer!

Just returned from a wonderful 7-night stay at this beautiful hotel, and we absolutely loved it! Our room was very spacious, with a double bed and a lovely view overlooking the pool. We stayed in room 421. Breakfast had a wide variety of options, and there were plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. We really enjoyed visiting the Olive Tree for food, Grill house, Caliva Beach Club and Paradise Beach for cocktails, and Magaluf itself wasn’t too far away either. The hotel is situated up quite a steep hill, so if you have mobility issues, it may not be the most suitable choice. We loved the infinity pool and spent every day there! There’s also a larger pool, as well as a pool table outside next to the outdoor pool bar. We could even see people enjoying the slingshots, which was great entertainment to watch! 😂 Although the hotel isn’t far from Magaluf, once you closed the balcony door, you couldn’t hear the noise outside, which was a huge bonus. We also had lunch at the hotel, which was lovely. During our stay, we visited Siso Beach and plenty of other places too, as we’re big foodies and love exploring different restaurants. We would definitely return to this hotel. Next time, though, we’d probably go Half Board rather than Bed & Breakfast. A special mention to Laure at reception, who was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend this hotel! ❤️🌴☀️

Excellent. Very clean with attentive and pleasant staff all round. We would return in an instant. Very highly recommended. Sam in particular, a young guy on reception told us how to do everything on the first day and was subsequently very helpful and efficient whenever we needed advice. Breakfast is way above average with plenty of choice and always replenished quickly. Fantastic chef just doing anything to do with the eggs while you wait and you don’t wait very long. He gives proper service with a smile. Almost no queueing and plenty of space for everyone.
