Protur Badia Park Aparthotel

We are just back from a five night break at this beautiful hotel. Ignore some of the negative reviews,the rooms are of a very high standard. The food in the dining room is so varied,loads to choose from. The pool and pool bar are amazing. Only one little negative,a few of the staff are misreable. Would love to return next year

I think it really depends on what you're expecting here. It's not a bad hotel, but it is pretty basic rather than luxury. The Good - Excellent pools for young children. The splash pads are great - Rooms are clean and relatively new - Staff are mainly friendly, though the bar staff are indifferent 😂 - Decent location, right next to the Carrefour supermarket and only 10 minutes to the beach (which is lovely) - Lots of activities for kids (and adults if that's your style) The Bad - Kids mini disco starts quite late (20:30) for young children - Evening entertainment is all outside, which would be fine if it wasn't SOO LOUD. Zero chance of a quiet drink on the balcony once the kids are asleep. This goes on to 22:30 - Food is hit and miss. Some nights were good but others just seemed recycled - No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities in the room - The 'restaurants' seemed to be more buffets with a restriction on how many people can go. I was hoping to be able to actually sit down and order Overall we wouldn't return, but can see why others might.

Having stayed in 5 of the Protur hotels over the last couple of years, Badia Aparthotel was overall the most disappointing to date. The hotel itself is aesthetically very pleasing. The hotel is clean, spacious and modern. The apartments are the same however we were surprised to find there was no sink, kettle or crockery in the kitchen area. The previous Protur apartments we have stayed have had these included. The microwave also didn’t work. We have a young baby so this made cleaning bottles etc tricky. The rooms however were cleaned as requested and done to a high standard. The restaurant had a good selection of food each day however our experience at meal times was negatively impacted by the abruptness of staff, particularly a mature female staff member who was extremely abrupt to us on a few occasions. Twice, we were chased away from the area she was working and on one occasion our baby highchair was shoved in bad temper, we assume it was slightly sitting out a bit. On one occasion, my husband tried to explain to a member of staff that we were still using the table and cutlery was thrown done in frustration onto the table. The restaurant is a busy environment at this time of year, it was overstimulating and crowded. Being all inclusive and using the restaurant 3xdaily became a dread at times. On our last day, as we were preparing to check out, our children were ‘shushed’ very abruptly by a member of the reception. The reception area at this time was empty and our children were simply being playful and being no trouble. The pools are overall very good and ideal for children of all ages. We are a quiet family of 4 and the approach of staff towers at times was very unsettling. In keeping with our experience, checkout was brief and lacked any warmth, dialogue or thanks for our custom. Overall the attitude of staff and the atmosphere at meal times really impacted our trip and for that reason we wouldn’t stay at this hotel in the future.

We stayed for 10 nights in July. It is clean and well maintained, however lacking basic things like no bottled water in the room on arrival, no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom make it a 3 star. The buffet was very, very repetitive and the food was usually lukewarm warm. Once we discovered the microwave, we collected our food and put it in there to get it hot. Booking the speciality restaurants was hard work. They guarantee one booking at one of the restaurants per stay, advised to book on arrival. The soonest we could get a table at the Italian was 6 days after arrival. If you then want to book one of the others, you have to try at 2pm every day, when they release any available tables, along with everyone else at all of the Protur Sa Coma hotels to try and book for that day. The chance of a booking is virtually nil during peak season. It doesn’t matter whether you have booked a stay for 3 days or 3 weeks, you still only get one guaranteed booking. The majority of other hotels tend to say one booking for 1 to 7 nights, 2 for 8 to 14 nights etc. The food we had at the Italian was good (and hot) which was a welcome change from the buffet. We also booked a table at Bari, the Italian on site at the Badia Park. The food was served buffet style and was again cold, very underwhelming. We spent most days at the kids splash pool as we had our 2 year old Granddaughter with us. It was generally not too busy. The main pool was very busy, with music, games etc and sunbeds were crammed in everywhere. Pool towels are provided an arrival but can only be exchanged once every 3 days by taking them back to reception. They check your room number and when the towels were provided, if it hasn’t been 3 days, they will not exchange them. Soft drinks are self-service and always in paper cups, which is fine for daytime around the pool (for safety) but to expect adults to drink out of paper cups in the evening just because they don’t want an alcoholic drink it crazy. We were all sick of paper cups by the end of the holiday. All in all, we would not return here, there are too many things which are sub-standard for 4 star hotel.

We visited this hotel from 15-22nd of June , we had a fantastic family holiday I can definitely recommend going here if you have little ones , we had our 3 year old grandson with us and there was so much to do , I'd like to give a special thank you to Ana on reception, we had a bit of a worry that my grandson was going to get out of the room in the middle of the night to try and get into our room, Ana spoke to hotel security and within a few minutes a very helpful security man came to the room and sorted something to help us all relax knowing our grandson wouldn't be able to get out of the room in the night while everyone was asleep, food was all lovely, drinks were good , plenty of ice cream, all in all a really good family hotel
