Sarena de Muro Resort Mallorca

This a beautiful hotel in a great location a little away from the busy areas of Playa de Muro, but within walking distance of anything you might need. We had a suite with side sea view and the room was lovely - spacious and extremely clean. Great shower and always appreciate a coffee machine. Pool area and pool bar are great - definitely worth having lunch in the pool bar. À la carte restaurant was closed during our stay. We had booked half board and would not do so again. Evening buffet offering was poor compared with other similar hotels we have stayed at in Mallorca. Would however very much recommend Figueret restaurant which is less than 5mins walk away.

Beautiful property, but unfortunately not a 5-star experience. We enjoyed our stay overall, but were disappointed by the food and especially the level of service. One of the reasons we booked was to dine at Opalo, only to find out at check-in that it had just closed for the season. The €48-per-person buffet wasn’t what we expected, so we ordered room service instead, which arrived cold and soggy. The pool food was also disappointing, with extremely tough chicken, and it was difficult to get service at the lounge chairs. The service at the bar was particularly poor, and even at checkout nobody asked how we enjoyed our stay or if everything had been okay. There was also some questionable pool etiquette that staff did not address. The property itself is beautiful, and the pool staff were friendly and accommodating, but the overall lack of attention to detail and inconsistent service did not meet the standard we expected for a 5-star hotel. Given the price, we expected much more and unfortunately would not stay again.

This time, I must be critical of what used to be our favorite hotel. The arrival was smooth—our luggage was taken promptly and the car was parked efficiently. Unfortunately, that was where the positives ended. As usual, we were traveling as a family of four. Regrettably, our children were assigned a room next to extremely disruptive guests who were making excessive noise until the early hours of the morning. The level of disturbance was clear the next day when housekeepers collected seven empty liquor bottles left outside that room. Throughout the night, our children had to go to reception multiple times to request assistance. The receptionist on duty handled the situation poorly, doing nothing more than calling the noisy room—a gesture that was completely ignored by the guests inside. Strangely, two days later we noticed a security guard with handcuffs at reception, which makes it even harder to understand why security was not dispatched immediately when our children reported the issue during the night. The hotel failed to demonstrate any effective system for handling severe late-night noise complaints. I have detailed our very disappointing dining experience at the newly opened Opalo restaurant in a separate review. We have been visiting continuous times over the past 20 years (typically twice a year), but the current operational management appears to be a significant step down compared to previous years. Issue resolution and overall organization were severely lacking during this stay. We are deeply disappointed by the recent decline of a property we loved for so long.

Overall good ,but some improvements needed Begin with nice things Hotel is in quite location,wow effect when you arrive,expressive building with atmosphere,fast check in,with glass of water of champagne,room cleen,fresh,nice smell ,but we had room with no views,just quiet green parking area,my suggestion upgrade,but its a bit expensive. Hotel is beachfront,so just relax by pool,and go swimming to the sea ,pool area is relaxed with luxury atmosphere( form me is will be nice if this hotel be only adults)Pool bar with tasty menu. Breakfast is best part,you can choose menu or buffet,and crown is coffee from barista ,very tasteful,that is big +for hotel. Dinner buffet in my opinion is overpriced and not worth money. Few meters in a corner store ,very convenient Overall I would choose again this property ,modern ,luxury atmosphere,clean ,location is all for my choice for hotel. Serena de Muro is a beautiful, brand-new hotel in a gorgeous location. Everything feels fresh, modern, clean, thoughtfully designed, and the property itself is truly stunning. It has a lot of potential to become an exceptional hotel. There are a few areas where the experience could be improved, particularly when it comes to service. At breakfast, it was often very difficult to get anyone’s attention when we needed assistance. More attentive and proactive service would make a big difference, especially for a hotel of this caliber. The pool area is beautiful and very relaxing, but it would be wonderful to have better poolside service, particularly for ordering drinks while relaxing on the lounge chairs. The pool itself was also extremely cold. I’m not sure why it isn’t heated, but adding some heat would make the pool much more enjoyable. For dinner, it would also be a nice touch if water was included with the meal rather than being an additional charge. This is a small detail but including water with dinner would feel more in line with the level of the hotel and dining experience. The food was exceptional with a wonderful variety of food. Everything was delicious and really enjoyed breakfast and dinner. One thing I would definitely encourage the hotel to expand is the activities offered throughout the day. The morning yoga class was exceptional and was one of the highlights of the stay. Adding a few more activities like this throughout the day — wellness classes, fitness, or other low-key experiences (cooking, cocktail making)— would give guests even more to enjoy without having to leave the property. Turn down service would be a nice touch as well as some complimentary things during the day at the pool such as small cold towels, smoothie shots, popsicle etc. Name tags would be a useful addition for staff to get to know them better throughout the week. A helpful tip for guests: If you walk down the stairs in front of the hotel, there is a small supermarket just to the right. From there, you can walk in either direction along the main strip, where you’ll find restaurants, shops, and other conveniences. There is also a little tourist train, the Ting Ting, that runs up and down the strip, which is a fun and easy way to explore the area. The chairs on the beach in front of the hotel cost $21 euros for two chairs and an umbrella. Some days no one collects the money and some days they do. The beach water is crisp and shallow. Overall, Serena de Muro is a gorgeous new property with tremendous potential. With more attentive service, a heated pool, additional activities, and a few small touches for a 5 star hotel, I think it could become a truly outstanding hotel. We really enjoyed the beautiful property and its location and hope to see these improvements as the hotel continues to develop. Playa de Muro is worth the trip from Palma for a wonderful beach vacation.
