Silberhorn

Thank goodness we decided to stay in one place in Switzerland and make day trips into the Alps - and that we chose Lauterbrunnen as the perfectly located spot and Hotel Silberhorn as the perfect "home" for five days. Our room looked down the valley; it was a postcard! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We ate every single night in their restaurant because it was delicious! Swedish specialties or continental entrees, delicious cocktails, and desserts extraordinaire. Friendly, helpful staff. They know what they're doing.

I stayed in a single room in this hotel and was very pleased. The biggest plus for me was the 24/7 coffee/hot water machine in the lobby. I was jet lagged and woke up at 3 AM one morning and was able to get coffee in the lobby. That was extremely appreciated, as nothing in town was open until after 7 AM. The hotel has a beautiful setting with a lovely garden. I had a small balcony overlooking the back of the hotel. I enjoyed watching the goats on the hillside. Also watched the Grutschalp lift going up and down the mountain. It is right next to the hotel but is very quiet. The hotel is very convenient as it's right across the road from the train station, next to the Grutschalp lift, and has a Coop store just below. The shower was hot and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was topnotch--wonderful plain yogurt, cut up melon, cheeses, fresh bread, various cereals. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

This was my second visit in 15 months and exceeded my expectations. From the moment of arrival, we experienced exceptional assistance in dinner reservations, laundry facilities and help navigating the region. Our rooms were spectacular, very clean, spacious and with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We were even lucky enough to have a room overlooking the cow parade so had a great view of the cows coming down from the mountains. The coffee bar in the lobby, along with ice water and an ice machine was a nice touch. The breakfasts were wonderful and so plentiful no need for lunch! We stayed for 6 nights and ate in the onsite restaurant the majority of nights. The food was wonderful and the service was spectacular. I can't recommend this hotel enough and on my next visit, which I know there will be one, I will definitely be staying here!

Fantastic stay! Highly recommend this hotel. Stayed in one of their Superior Rooms (corner unit), which was spacious for 2 of us. Stayed during a warm period in July, and with windows and door to balcony/deck open (cross ventilation) and fan in room felt very comfortable. Hotel location was perfect. Lauterbrunnen was a 4-day home base and launching point for Murren, Wengen, Grindelwald and miscellaneous hikes around the region. Close to train station, the cable car to Grütschalp / Murren, and a grocery store (Coop). Short walk to and through town but felt away from the heavy tourist crowds. Friendly staff. Has an elevator. Laundry machines on-site are a bonus! Great breakfast (included). Dinner in restaurant was great (so good we ate there 2 of 4 nights). Dinner on the patio with views of mountain was wonderful. Lobby has a water dispenser (still and sparkling) , ice and coffee machine/tea available 24/7.

This was our third stay here in 10 years. It has always been outstanding but this visit topped it all. The addition of the machine with ice/water was so appreciated and used frequently, also the water bottle filling spot was handy. Having laundry facilities was a pleasant surprise so we didn’t have to walk to the laundromat. Breakfast buffet was great as always and dinner always good. Can’t recommend this hotel enough! You can’t beat the location either for convenience to transportation.
