Grand Hotel Belvédère

The Belvedere hotel is a gem of a hotel in a lovely town. What really made the stay was the exceptional staff. They worked hard to provide a fan for my room when requested. They cleaned the room daily with an incredible attention to detail. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I loved the welcome upon check in and the fresh fruit basket and note in the room. The staff made me feel special. I did wish the pool was open a bit later as I’d have very much liked to take advantage of it, but given it closed at 7, if didn’t provide any time after a full day of exploration.

Loved the location, the balcony, and the rooms. This is definitely a boutique hotel. We had a room with Jungfrau view. It was spectacular to wake up to the peaks each morning. Because there was no air conditioning in the rooms, we had to sleep with the windows open. There are 2 main things that I wish were different: The blanket is too heavy for the summer/late spring heat wave. The church bell tolls every hour, in case you need to know that its 2am... Other than that, no complaints!

It is amazing to fall asleep and wake up the next morning in the clouds. At 4178 ft above, when you walk through the fog, you are stepping onto a cloud. The staff at the hotel was great and super helpful. The room had everything you needed to wake up to coffee in bed. It was a delight to relax and experience a beautiful Swiss hamlet!

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. Great location with superb views on the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Rooms, albeit a little small, are very comfortable, well equipped and very clean. Super friendly and helpful staff all around. Restaurant is great too. We'll certainly come back if we stay at Wengen again.

We have been traveling for 6 weeks through Italy (Rome, Assisi, Orvieto, Sienna and Florence). Since we were close, we added a week in Switzerland at The Grand. WOW we are so very glad we did!! In fact next trip we will skip Italy all together and head straight to Wengen and take our same room 36. The view is breathtaking. The staff (especially Katarina at breakfast and Antonio in reception) are EXCELLENT. We felt like family by the time we left. The indoor outdoor pools, sauna and steam rooms are sparkling clean. My husband and I have been to 38 countries in the last 4 years and this was our very favorite stay!
