We have travelled extensively and stayed in many five-star hotels and resorts, including in the Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius. Bijal in Side is quite simply one of the best places we have ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm, personal and beautifully considered. With only 19 villas, Bijal has an intimacy you rarely find in a luxury resort. The setting is beautiful, the private beach is exceptional, and the level of service throughout our four-night stay was outstanding. A special mention must go to Asim, our butler, who looked after us superbly. Having someone dedicated to looking after you makes a genuine difference, but what impressed us most was the attitude of all the staff. Everyone was warm, smiling and attentive. Nothing felt like too much trouble. We stayed on the fully inclusive package and thoroughly enjoyed it. Three excellent meals each day, a choice of restaurants, drinks brought to you on the beach and consistently good service made this a wonderfully relaxing experience. Guests at Bijal also have access to the larger sister resort next door. That gives you another choice of restaurants and facilities, although we loved the peace and privacy of Bijal itself. The neighbouring resort is larger and more family orientated, so having access to both gives you the best of both settings. The villas are beautifully designed and use iPads to control the lighting, curtains and other features. We did have a little cross-wiring with some of the lighting controls, which needed sorting out. This is perhaps one traveller’s tip with so much technology in the rooms. Any small glitch we mentioned, though, was dealt with promptly by the staff. The private beach deserves its own mention. It is beautifully maintained, peaceful and extremely comfortable, with the same attentive service you experience throughout the resort. What surprised us most was how Bijal compared with some of the long-haul luxury destinations we have visited. For us, it surpassed several five-star resorts we have stayed in in the Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius, yet Turkey involves a considerably shorter flight from the UK. Four nights passed far too quickly. Bijal gave us exactly what we wanted at the end of our trip around Turkey: complete relaxation, wonderful food, exceptional service and a beautiful place to do absolutely nothing. The closest thing to paradise we have experienced. We would return without hesitation.

This hotel is perfection in every way. The attention to detail in the decor, the beautiful beach, the incredible villas, the wonderful food and most importantly the impeccable service. we had the most magical week. As discerning travellers who stay at some of the best resorts in the word, This was one of the best places we have stayed at , can’t recommend this place enough. Asim, Gokturk, Said really looked after us so well! Can’t wait to go back next year.

I stayed here for 8 days with my partner. The location is beautiful. We thought we had a sea view but none of the villas are by the sea. We did, however, enjoy riding our bikes which are provided, to the beach which is about 4 minutes away, 6 or 7 if you walk. The hotel provides a butler service and you could call and get a buggy ride to and from the beach. The villas are very nice but some are next to the road which didn’t bother us in the least. You are given a Polaroid camera to capture memories and they also provide a cute photo album to put them in. You can ask for more film if you run out. The service from everyone was outstanding. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Our Butler was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The facilities are outstanding. Breakfast was excellent. The beach is private, very clean and spacious. Only Bijal customers are allowed to use it. The Beach House restaurant provides you with a bottle of water, a cocktail and sunscreen every time you visit the beach. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. Great hotel. Fantastic rooms and incredible service. We ended up here a bit by accident and were apparently a rarity as British visitors. It’s a small hotel with 20 villas from one to four bed, all with private pool. Rooms are beautifully designed and very practical for a family. You also get a very attentive butler, Anil was amazing. The beach is great and very quiet compared to the neighbouring big hotels. Food is good and we had an inclusive package, which worked out as good value. Service is good and Gokturk was a great waiter. You also get to use all the facilities at their adjoining sister hotel, including tennis, padle and water slides. A nice addition from the sancury of your 5 star hotel. Side is well with a visit as a lively archeological gem. Takes 10 mins by taxi.
