Selectum Noa Belek — 2/5. Fantastic Food and Beautiful Grounds, but Terrible Rooms and Service. Never Again! We stayed at Selectum Noa Belek in October 2026 as a family with two children, paying approximately $6,000 for seven nights, excluding additional expenses at the hotel. We had previously stayed at the neighboring Selectum Family Resort, so we had a good point of comparison. Unfortunately, Selectum Noa Belek turned out to be a huge disappointment. Despite having some genuinely excellent features, we will never return. Let's start with the positives The food is absolutely fantastic! Excellent quality, a wonderful variety of dishes, and genuinely delicious meals. This is probably the hotel's strongest advantage. In fact, I would say the food at Noa is even better than at Selectum Family Resort. The main restaurant staff are outstanding! Friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely hardworking. Waiters approach guests proactively, offer drinks, and provide excellent service. A huge thank you to these wonderful employees! They are the people who actually make you feel like you're staying at a five-star resort. The grounds are beautiful! Spacious, green, wonderfully landscaped, and extremely well maintained. Everything is clean and tidy, the gardens are lovely, and walking around the resort is genuinely enjoyable. Absolutely no complaints here. The swimming pools are nice, clean, and well maintained. We have no complaints about their condition or cleanliness. However, the water was too cold for us. As far as we could tell, the pools were not heated, which was particularly disappointing when traveling with children in October. The SPA facilities are excellent. A pleasant atmosphere, good facilities, and a genuinely enjoyable experience. Definitely one of the hotel's highlights. Unfortunately, this is where the positive experience largely ends. Why only two stars? 1. Check-in, unacceptable room conditions, and an additional $210 charge. We arrived at approximately 11:00 AM. At reception, we were told that official check-in was at 2:00 PM. However, a family room was already available, and we were offered the opportunity to check in immediately. Naturally, we agreed. Unfortunately, the room we received was absolutely dreadful! The furniture was old, badly worn, and in terrible condition. The room was extremely dirty and generally felt neglected. Some of the furniture looked so unpleasant that we barely wanted to touch it. I returned to reception to complain. A staff member offered to show us another room. We went to inspect it, and the alternative was noticeably better. However, only AFTER we had inspected the room were we informed that moving there would cost an additional $210! So, after already paying approximately $6,000 for our holiday, we ended up spending another $210 just to move from a room in completely unacceptable condition to a more comfortable one. We eventually moved to a King room. It had a beautiful view and was significantly better than the original room, but it was still outdated and clearly in need of renovation. What made this experience particularly frustrating was that the additional charge was only disclosed after we had complained, been offered an alternative room, and inspected it. 2. Housekeeping is terrible. While the hotel grounds are beautifully maintained and spotless, the rooms are a completely different story. There were thick layers of dust and dirt under the beds. The minibar was inconsistently restocked, and we constantly had to remind staff to provide basic services. No bathrobes were provided. Even the hair conditioner in the bathroom was only refilled after we specifically requested it. Why should guests at a five-star resort have to supervise basic housekeeping duties themselves? 3. Serious security concerns. The terrace doors do not lock! This creates a potential risk of someone entering the room from outside. We were traveling with two children, and this is completely unacceptable. How can such a basic security issue exist in a supposedly five-star family resort? 4. The beach is a massive disappointment. It is small, uncomfortable, and covered with pebbles. Compared to the beach at Selectum Family Resort, the difference is enormous — and definitely not in Noa's favor. For a resort in this price category, the beach is extremely disappointing. 5. The children's facilities desperately need renovation. There is a kids' play area, but the interior and equipment are old, worn out, and visibly deteriorated. For a five-star family resort, we expected a much better standard. 6. The seafood à la carte restaurant is disappointing. The menu is extremely limited, consisting of approximately three pages with only a few dishes on each. The food itself is tasty, but the main buffet restaurant offers significantly better variety and service. The waiters were extremely difficult to find whenever we needed assistance. We were also supposed to receive a birthday celebration, but after waiting a long time without any attention from the staff, we eventually left. Nobody even noticed our departure. The difference in service quality between the main restaurant and the à la carte restaurant is astonishing. 7. Maintenance and response to complaints are absolutely terrible. We experienced an electrical problem in our room and contacted reception for assistance. THREE HOURS passed, and nobody even came to investigate the issue! The following day, I personally went to reception to report the problem again. The staff simply responded with the usual "OK, OK," but no actual action followed. It feels like the reception staff are very good at agreeing with guests but have little interest in actually resolving their problems. 8. Inconsistent and unclear late check-out pricing. On our departure day, we decided to extend our room stay. Initially, reception quoted us €30 per hour. However, when we asked again in the morning, the price had changed to €25 per hour. We eventually managed to extend our stay at the lower rate, which was obviously welcome. But why are guests being quoted different prices for the same service? Why does the price appear to depend on when you ask? At a five-star resort, I would expect clear and transparent pricing rather than inconsistent quotations. 9. Ridiculous prices in the on-site shops. There are several shops and a market on the hotel grounds, which is convenient. However, the prices are outrageous. For example, a small Snickers bar costs €5. Higher prices at resorts are understandable, but this is excessive. 10. Pressure to leave five-star reviews. This was particularly disappointing. Staff members asked us to give the hotel a five-star review, explaining that otherwise an employee could lose their job. I cannot confirm whether this is genuinely a management policy, but putting guests under this kind of emotional pressure is completely inappropriate. After paying a substantial amount of money and experiencing so many problems, why should guests feel guilty for leaving an honest review? This is especially unfair to the genuinely excellent staff in the main restaurant, who work hard and deserve recognition. Five-star ratings should be EARNED through excellent service, not requested through guilt or fear. Final verdict Selectum Noa Belek certainly has some excellent qualities: - Outstanding food with an excellent variety of dishes. - Wonderful, hardworking staff in the main restaurant. - Beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained grounds. - Nice, clean swimming pools. - Excellent SPA facilities. Unfortunately, these positives cannot compensate for dirty and outdated rooms, terrible housekeeping, security concerns, poor maintenance, and the constant need to request even the most basic services. The room situation was particularly frustrating. After paying approximately $6,000 for our holiday, we had to spend an additional $210 to move from a completely unacceptable room to a more comfortable one. And even the upgraded room was far from modern. We came here to enjoy a relaxing family holiday with our children, not to spend our vacation repeatedly visiting reception, requesting basic housekeeping, reporting technical issues, and chasing staff for assistance. The most disappointing part is that this hotel has enormous potential. The beautiful grounds, fantastic food, and genuinely hardworking restaurant staff could make it an excellent resort. Unfortunately, the overall standard of service falls far below expectations. My two stars are for the excellent food, the hardworking main restaurant staff, the beautiful grounds, the pools, and the SPA. Everything else left a very negative impression. We will NEVER return to Selectum Noa Belek, and I would not recommend it to friends or family. If you are choosing between Selectum Noa Belek and Selectum Family Resort, I would choose Selectum Family Resort without hesitation, even if it costs significantly more.
Overall, we were disappointed with our stay at this hotel and would not choose it again. The problems started as soon as we arrived. Our room key cards were mixed up with those of other guests, they were our friends but causing confusion with the room assignments. A birthday amenity intended for one of the children in our group was also delivered to the wrong room, and we had to take it to the correct guests ourselves. Despite having booked three rooms for three people each, we were left with only two towels per room every day. We contacted reception repeatedly and asked them to provide enough towels for three guests, but our requests were consistently ignored. In the end, I had to ask the housekeeper directly. She barely spoke English, but at least she provided the extra towels. The furniture was in extremely poor condition. It was heavily worn and clearly in need of replacement, giving the rooms a neglected appearance. Another major issue was the room safe. The battery appeared not to have been replaced for a long time, resulting in an error that prevented us from opening it. We contacted reception by phone and through messages, but they sent someone to the wrong room — the same room-related confusion caused by the key cards we had been given upon arrival. We were then assured that another staff member would be sent, but nobody showed up. When we followed up, reception again claimed that someone had already attended to the issue, which was simply not true. After waiting for an hour and a half, a staff member finally arrived but was still unable to fix the problem. As soon as the code was entered, the safe displayed an error and automatically locked itself again. Because of this delay, we also missed breakfast. To make matters worse, the swimming pool water was extremely cold, making swimming an unpleasant experience. Overall, our stay was marked by repeated organisational failures, a lack of attention to guests' needs and poor room maintenance. We expected much better service from a hotel where we had paid for our stay. Unfortunately, we would not return and cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience. Evening Entertainment and Organisation The hotel's overall organisation was not particularly impressive. There were information boards displaying the entertainment schedule, but in practice, the programme was almost identical every evening: a children's disco at 8:30 p.m., followed by live music. There was very little variety, and the setup was uncomfortable. Guests were expected to stand around tall bar tables to listen to the music, rather than having enough proper seating where they could comfortably enjoy the evening entertainment. There was no ashtray on the balcony. We left a small cup there to use for cigarette butts, but it was taken away every time the room was cleaned. As a result, we had nothing suitable to put out our cigarettes or dispose of the cigarette butts. It may seem like a minor detail, but it was an unnecessary inconvenience. One of the positive aspects was that the resort is large and offers plenty of space to walk around and explore. The food was tasty and enjoyable, which was one of the positive aspects of our stay. The food was tasty, the grounds were spacious and green, with plenty of areas to walk around and enjoy. There were also activities for children, giving them opportunities to have fun.
