We had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel on the beach. Our suite was right on the beach with a private pool. This was a plus as it gave us time alone which we were looking for. The food was adequate but there is room for improvement. My only real complaint would be the bar service was not acceptable for a resort like this. I actually stopped drinking anything but beer.

We have just returned from our honeymoon at LUX* Marijani Zanzibar, and honestly, I don’t even know where to begin. We had the absolute BEST time, and this hotel exceeded our expectations in every possible way. From the stunning surroundings and exceptional food to the outstanding service and incredible hospitality, everything was simply faultless. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful and luxurious, the perfect place to relax and make the most wonderful memories. The food was exceptional, with every meal being something to look forward to, but what truly sets LUX* Marijani apart is its people. The service was second to none, and the hospitality was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Every single member of staff we encountered treated us with such warmth, love and care. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and there was a genuine kindness and thoughtfulness that made us feel so special throughout our stay. A special mention must go to Abu Bakar and Abdul from the entertainment team, who were absolutely brilliant. They introduced us to the bao game, taught us how to play, and we enjoyed it so much that we even bought a board to bring home with us! It’s such a lovely memory to take home from Zanzibar, and a perfect example of how the team makes your experience about so much more than just a holiday. Dinesh, the Executive Chef, also deserves a special mention. He took the time to come and speak with us personally and genuinely listen to our feedback about the kitchen. That level of care and willingness to engage with guests speaks volumes about the standards and pride behind the food and the overall experience. And Ruma, the Resort Manager, was an absolute delight. So personable, thoughtful and approachable, she took the time to check in with us every evening to see how we were getting on. Those personal touches really do make a difference, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about our experience. There are so, so many other members of staff we would love to mention because every single person we encountered contributed to making our stay so special. From the warmest welcomes to the smiles, kindness and little gestures throughout the day, the entire team made us feel looked after in the most genuine way. It is impossible to name everyone, but please know that your efforts do not go unnoticed and are truly appreciated. We came to Zanzibar for a special holiday together, and LUX* Marijani gave us memories we will treasure forever. We have travelled to beautiful places, but it is the people who make a place unforgettable, and this team absolutely does that. LUX Marijani is so much more than a beautiful resort. It is a place with heart, soul and people who genuinely care.* The management should be incredibly proud of the team they have built because they are the reason this place is so exceptional. Our stay at Lux Marjani has been amazing we chose Zanzibar for our honeymoon and we are really glad we did. the staff at Lux have been amazing. Sulaiman, haji, Issac, Anne Nanzia, Musa, Abu Bakar and everyone names we have missed have been brilliant, the service the food has been 10 / 10. Definitely will try the other Lux hotels. I stayed at LUX* Marijani with a group of 18 people and had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the exceptionally friendly, attentive and welcoming staff. Everything was taken care of with a genuine smile, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The team went above and beyond to make our group feel special. They arranged a table where we could all dine together, organised a walk to the local village and even accompanied us on a walk out to the reef. These thoughtful experiences made our stay truly memorable. It’s also the little touches that make this resort stand out: the lovely aperitivo with members of the hotel team, the beautiful wishing tree, and the delightful surprises delivered to guests relaxing on the beach, whether it’s a refreshing ice cream or some fresh fruit. These gestures perfectly reflect the warm and thoughtful hospitality of LUX* Marijani. The food was delicious, with the à la carte restaurants being a particular highlight. The rooms were spacious, spotless and very comfortable. A special mention goes to General Manager Rooma, who is incredibly friendly and approachable and can often be seen around the resort, personally connecting with guests and making sure they are having a great stay. We can wholeheartedly recommend LUX Marijani!* It’s not just the beautiful resort, but above all the wonderful people and their genuine hospitality that make this place so special.
