Protels La Plage

I had an.amazing experience. Excellent for a family vacation .The property is right on the beach which makes it easy to access.The manager Mr.Shady is so super friendly and the staff are all.so kind.Bravo!

We spent 7 relaxing nights at Protels La Plage as a group of 3 adults and 2 children, occupying one family room and one double room. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The family room was the same size as the double room, with two additional single beds added. The bathrooms were very large and had good-sized showers. Housekeeping did a great job throughout our stay. Fresh towels were provided daily, refreshments in the room were replenished every day, and the rooms were consistently clean and well maintained. We especially enjoyed the creative towel and flower decorations on the beds each day. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were good, and both the air conditioning and wall fan kept the rooms cool. The hotel was also very responsive whenever we needed assistance. Requests for extra towels were handled quickly, and when our wall fan stopped working, it was promptly repaired. The pool area was pleasant, with comfortable sun beds and a pool bar. The beach front directly in front of the hotel was clean and well maintained, with a nice relaxation area featuring sun beds, hammocks, and swings. Most days the buffet was very good, although the variety was somewhat limited some days, possibly due to the low number of guests. The food was enjoyable, and the staff were willing to prepare additional dishes on request. Drinks and juices were available, and the service throughout the restaurant was attentive and friendly. A special mention goes to Obina, the tour operator working with the hotel. She arranged several excursions for our group and provided safe, pleasant, and well-organized experiences throughout our stay. The staff and management were friendly, welcoming, and consistently helpful. Service levels were high, and we always felt well looked after. In short, the management went way and beyond to make our stay comfortable. A special callout to the manager, Mr. Shady, who contacted us personally on a daily basis to make sure our day was a good one and assisted in resolving any matters or issues we might have. The security at the hotel gates and by the beach was excellent, making it safe to utilize the facilities at all times. The hotel is located in a very quiet part of Zanzibar with relatively few tourists. This will be a major advantage for travelers seeking peace, quiet, and relaxation. One suggestion we would like to make is having a drying rack or some stand on the balcony to hang wet swimwear and towels. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend Protels La Plage to travelers looking for comfortable accommodations, friendly service, good food, and a relaxing base on the east coast of Zanzibar.

The hotel has a warm and cosy atmosphere with a very friendly and welcoming vibe. The entire team is kind, helpful, and always ready to accommodate guests’ needs. Kilani, the manager, is exceptionally supportive and goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Getting around outside the hotel can be a little challenging, but the area feels safe and secure. Overall, it is a lovely place with a welcoming atmosphere and genuinely caring staff.
