Protels La Plage

Protels La plage. Mixed bag really. The staff are amazing they work hard and are a delight. Even when they don’t have the equipment to do their jobs properly. And what equipment they have is not really up to scratch. The Beach is stunning very quite peaceful and clean. But it did have pieces of random furniture dumped on it. Now for a review on the hotel itself, it has so much potential but is extremely run-down shabby paint work, the pools are missing tiles and broken sections of the plastic overspill grill everywhere. There is also no single sun beds around the pools. Just old plastic chairs and a few cabanas. Beach bar is run down has only two stools which is pathetic. They have a standard kitchen fridge that’s outside to try and keep drinks cold, but it fails as the beer is warm, although cocktails are ok because of the ice. And then at six o’clock they have to move everything from the beach bar to the main bar for the evening which has a small fridge and no ice machine, so staff have to run backwards and forwards between the two bars. Rooms are ok but need work but are cleaned and towels changed every day. Food is not great very bland and greasy at times, but you can always find something. Also, cats sleeping on the chairs in restaurant and around your feet when eating. Is not something I approve of and needs addressing. Power cuts out constantly while we were here. Evening entertainment we did not see any while I was here. This hotel has so much potential but needs a lot of money put in for improvement and if that does not happen it will start to lose custom very quickly. Which would be a shame as it could be great, hats of to the staff and management for doing the best they can. But would not return in its current situation.

It was a great time to stay at Protels La plage! It’s still a small place but I’m quite impressed with how they treated us. The manager there Kilani was very accommodating, constantly smiling and very welcoming. I would say it’s a good place to stay, it’s just by the beach, can be very romantic and also accommodating to families and kids. Pool is maintained well and nice to have a good tan. Rooms are reasonably kept well, and maintained, breakfast buffet is also good, but can always be better, would prefer to see some local dishes in the breakfast buffet too! But overall, a great place to stay for couples, friends, and family. One thing I would say for an improvement would be that some of the staff have trouble speaking English well, so it can be challenging communicating sometimes.
