The Neela Boutique Hotel Stone Town

We had a wonderful stay at this charming boutique hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit, making us feel right at home. The rooftop dining area was a real delight with Elizabeth as our server greeting us always with a smile. The atmosphere was great, delicious food, and a lovely place to relax and enjoy the views. The location is also excellent, with the shopping market and beach just a short walk away, making it very convenient for exploring and shopping. The front desk, especially Othman, was helpful in booking us tours and finding a reputable Tanzanite shop. Highly recommend this hotel for its warm hospitality, great location, and beautiful rooftop dining experience..Thanks to Ker and Downey for setting our visit up.

Wonderful hotel. Our travel agent booked this for us "The World Within Us Travels". The staff was amazing, very attentive. Room was very nice, comfortable and cool! The restaurant was exceptional. Better than our other choice on the island.

After a long overnight flight and short transfer from the airport (organised by the hotel), the check-in team sat us down with a cold towel and a welcome drink. They booked us into the rooftop restaurant for supper that first night, which took all the stress out of our arrival. The hotel strikes a rare balance, it felt luxurious without being loud, crass, or tasteless. Our room had a great contemporary-meets-heritage feel that made it feel unique, and most importantly, the beds were comfortable and the room was completely quiet at night. After spending hours wandering Stone Town’s chaotic alleys and exploring the waterfront, our time at the rooftop bar/restaurant felt like a genuine escape from the heat and hustle. We visited every day and ate our way through several items on the food menu, everything was consistently top tier. A special mention to the staff, who were genuinely friendly and chatty. We also booked the hotel’s private dhow to Prison Island. The boat was very comfortable, and our guide was brilliant. I'm so glad we chose The Neela for our stay in Stone Town and the start of our trip to Zanzibar.
