Secrets Sunny Beach Resort & Spa

We are having a fantastic stay at Secrets Sunny Beach Resort & Spa and are genuinely impressed by the overall quality of the hotel. Everything is extremely clean and perfectly maintained, both inside and outside. The pool area is immaculate, the hotel grounds are beautifully cared for, and the private beach is exceptionally clean and pleasant. We are staying in room 826 and are extremely happy with it. The room is very spacious and modern, with tiled floors rather than carpet, which we particularly appreciate. The balcony is huge and the sea view is simply beautiful. If we return and can have the same room again, it would honestly be ideal! A special mention also goes to the housekeeping team: our room is always perfectly cleaned, and they do an excellent job every day. The food is another major highlight of the hotel. The buffets are varied, with plenty of choice, while the à la carte restaurants offer a more intimate and different dining experience. We also really appreciate the table service: the staff regularly come over to ask what we would like to drink, so there is no need to constantly get up. It may seem like a small detail, but it adds a real sense of comfort and makes the experience feel even more premium. The staff throughout the resort are always smiling, friendly, attentive and helpful. You genuinely feel welcome and well looked after. The swimming pool closes at 6 p.m., which may seem a little early during the summer, but it also gives you the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful indoor areas, bars and evening atmosphere of the hotel. The location is also perfect for us. The resort is slightly away from the busiest part of Sunny Beach, and we actually consider this a real advantage. The lively areas are still easily accessible whenever you want them, while the hotel itself remains peaceful, without the constant noise and overly touristy atmosphere of the centre. And finally, a little message to the Secrets team: after such a wonderful experience, there is now one thing we are really, really looking forward to discovering during a future stay… the Preferred Club! 😊 We are already completely satisfied with room 826 – if we could have exactly the same room again on our next visit, it would be perfect. What we would really love, however, is to experience the Preferred Club, enjoy the lounge and discover some of the quieter, more discreet and exclusive areas of the resort that we have not yet had the opportunity to explore. So perhaps the perfect combination for our next stay will simply be: room 826 + Preferred Club… whether we decide to book the upgrade ourselves or the Secrets team decides to surprise us! 😉 Most importantly, this first experience has already made us want to return. We will very probably come back with our friends, so that they can discover Secrets Sunny Beach Resort & Spa and experience a Hyatt hotel for themselves. For us, that is probably one of the best compliments you can give a hotel: not only wanting to return, but wanting to come back with people you care about and share the experience with them. We would therefore recommend Secrets Sunny Beach Resort & Spa without hesitation. Beautiful surroundings, varied food, impeccable cleanliness, wonderful staff, a fantastic sea view and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back. Last night here at secrets and a few observations. Staff are polite, not friendly there’s a difference, nothing wrong with that but from reading other people’s reviews I expected friendly but I got polite. Now at all other 5 stars I have received these things/service, not here at secrets though. No welcome drink, not that I ever want it, but noticed the lack of one. No bar service at your sunbeds, you have to go get one yourself, towel person does not help you with your towels, just hands them out, so won’t put it on your bed or put your umbrella up, I actually don’t care about that, it’s what my husband is for, but I’ve experienced this everywhere else. And talking of sunbeds, these have got to be the most uncomfortable sunbeds in history, no mattress, lots have damage to them, screws loose and things like that, making the canvas slack so you can feel the metal bars along your bum or back, no matter how you sit on it. Always plenty of sun beds available, we never went down until 11-12 and had no trouble finding two together. Also didn’t get bothered once by anybody trying to sell you spa treatments, we didn’t go to the beach as those beds did seem to go quickly, but I did notice the beach was quite stony, more sand than stone, so don’t expect powdery sand. Now food, everyone says how great it is, only managed breakfast once, so can’t really comment, But I wasn’t impressed, no sugary danishes, which is what I got up for, the usual available, continental and eggs sausages etc, sausages were more like hot dog sausages, bacon was streaky, so skipped that, fried eggs were fine. Lots of fresh fruit, melon kiwi, pineapple etc, all fresh not tinned, fruit is available at every mealtime. Lunch always had burgers, not beef, either veal or chicken, not for me, only tried once, that was enough, pizza was ok, always chips available, I’ve never seen my husband eat chips at so many different meal times, he’s not picky but he found it hard to find food they married together properly bless him. Salad was good. Dinner was hit and miss, again it was hard to find something you liked and then something to go with it, what I had was nice but we did go out for a meal as we wanted something they wasn’t buffet and was a proper meal. But most of the food was good, not delicious as other have said but good. Didn’t get an upset tummy so that always a bonus. Desserts were disappointing, those tiny cakes were ok, then there was mousse which was also ok. Ice cream available as well lunch and dinner times .we don’t like fish so can’t comment on those dishes. Entertainment was not great, terrible dance act, singers, which we didn’t see but were told she was awful. We did see the acrobatic show, that was ok, but only lasted about 30 minutes and felt like they were heading to something, but it just ended. The room, we had a standard room, nice size, just the same as most other hotel rooms, it was nice, bit bland decorative wise, think premier inn, travelodge, but without colour massive bed, lovely pillows, nice sized balcony, fantastic view. Also thought the corridors were boring, no decoration or artwork, think hospital corridor. Down in flower street, we caught the land train €4 each as it is a long walk, got a taxi back for €30. Loads of fish spas €5 for 20 mins, didn’t do this. But it was €25 at the hotel. Loads of tattoo shops, restaurants, bars. We saw a couple of really good singers at Jacks, I think they do the other bars as well. Fun fair and loads of things for kids. This holiday only cost us £2600, which for that price it was well worth the money. Would I come back, My husband says he would to Bulgaria but not this hotel (it was the sunbeds im sure that’s put him off). I can’t see myself choosing to come back. I’m on the hunt for somewhere I can go back to year on year and this isn’t it for me.

After the initial shock of the drive from the airport and dropping off at some very questionable resorts we were thrilled when we pulled up in front of secrets hotel and spa! It looked everything we expected. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was beautiful- huge, so much space and all the fixtures and fittings were of a high standard and spotlessly clean. As it was past midnight we went straight to sleep. The next morning when we awoke we were greeted with an amazing view from our balcony. A stunning set of pools and the Black Sea. Even though it was past 10am when we eventually got downstairs there was still so many sunbeds to choose from. This is a huge bonus when staying here- absolutely no sunbed wars. Plenty of places to eat and so much food to choose from. It was all very fresh and the areas are kept cleaning by an army of very polite young waiters and waitresses. I personally felt after 3 days the food was a bit samey. It felt like it was the same dishes - pork…..a lot of pork! We visited the portofino à la carte. Found it very disappointing so didn’t book in any of the other à la carte. This hotel is missing a trick. It has amazing spaces where the entertainment could be amazing. However we found evenings very boring. There are spaces in the main lobby that could have a singer every night but instead that area was deathly quiet with people just sat around looking bored. The nightclub (not a nightclub at all) is extremely disappointing. Once the short evening entertainment ends it just stops. The 3 young entertainment team are an absolute credit to the hotel. They work so hard. They bounce around enthusiastically, forever smiling and involving guests in their poolside games throughout the day. They really are a lovely threesome and they try so hard to make sure everyone is having a good time. I think they just need more help with the evening entertainment as it’s short and disappointing. Check out was tricky as our flight wasn’t till the evening and yes we were allowed to use the spa to shower, however there is no where to get dressed. You have to do it really quickly to save your dignity as it’s just in a public bathroom. Again they have so much space, a couple of designated areas for late checkout could be made. In short this hotel did what we needed- adult only, no sunbed battles, clean, beautiful pool area, and a lovely bedroom. Just a few niggles but it did not spoil our stay. Oh special mention to the lifts- wow they are frustrating.

What I loved most about Hotel Secret was the private adults-only beach and the beautiful swimming pools overlooking the sea.
