Hotel very clean and housekeeping staff excellent Each day towel animals made and placed in your room, this shows thought and attention to detail Coffee Shop & Bar in main lobby had friendly staff Room large and had everything that I needed. Lower floor so had a solar panel view as well as the sea in the distance Barefoot Grill was enjoyed for lunch as well as Market Cafe - Staff very attentive in both restaurants The only two issues to let this lovely hotel down are easily fixed 1) SUNBEDS… Mmmm .. that’s a stretch to call them that! I know I’m not alone in this and it would be the only thing to put me off coming back. They are unbearable to lie on .. metal panels sticking into you NO PADDING at all - this comment will get ignored but for the love of mercy ask your head office if you can invest in some padded sunbeds or if you want to be cheap buy padding for the ones already in situ 2) The Lifts .., only 3 of 4 working at any time and they go to each floor !!!!!!

The entertainment team get 5 out of 5. Chrissy, Kati & Vintsi made our holiday so much better. They made us want to go back next year 😀 The hotel was really nice & clean with delicious food. All of the hotel staff were so nice, friendly and helpful. The only thing that let it down was the lifts. None of them worked properly, all of them need replacing. Will definitely be going back.

We had a lovely stay (couple in our early 20s) here at Secrets. The location is lovely, right on the beach and the hotel’s taxi service made it so easy to get around. It cost €30 to get to and from St Vlas and €50 to Nesebar and back. It’s so easy to find a sunbed here, no getting up really early to find one. The only negative was that most of the umbrellas are missing a pin so you have to hunt around to find one! We kept the same one for the duration of our stay once we had a spare one, only one of the few criticisms for this hotel. The room was spacious and fully stocked with a huge bed! We did have a recurring leak though but reception staff dealt with it immediately and it was gone within hours although it did come back a couple of times. As you can see, this has not impacted my 5* review so do not let that deter you from this hotel. Overall the hotel is very clean. Staff are constantly wiping tables and cleaning glasses so there are endless places to sit for a drink. The only other criticism I have is the wait for the elevator at peak times. During our week long stay, one of the four elevators wasn’t in service, and with us being on the 6th floor, the elevators would come down to our level already full of people. The longest wait we had was 10 minutes but I’d imagine those on the floors below us had a harder time getting downstairs. The stairwells are not clearly labelled either otherwise we would have made use of those. The food selection was good with different dishes each night. We did miss the chance to book the onsite al a carte restaurant (Italian) as we arrived on a Thursday evening and didn’t attempt to book until Saturday, by which time it was fully booked and closed until the following Thursday. However, the hotel did offer to make a reservation in their neighbouring hotel instead which we never ended up doing. The entertainment team were superb! We enjoyed Aqua Fitness, Aqua Dance and a foam party during the daytime and evening entertainment such as singers and shows. Overall we had a lovely stay here and would definitely return in the future.

Great hotel in nice location. Staff friendly and helpful from the outset. We were lucky enough to be given a room on the 9th floor so had fabulous views across Sunny Beach. We stayed in a junior suite which was amazing and huge, you get your steps in walking from one end to the other 😂 Everything was always clean and house keeping did a very good job every day. The buffet always had plenty of options and good quality food. Drinks were good enough. The animation team work extremely hard to keep everyone entertained throughout the day, they are fun and friendly. The swimming pool is just incredible. Perfect for swimming in. No issues personally with the water temperature. One day I did get a bit cold but just warmed up in the sauna afterwards. The hotel can’t help the weather! Lovely sauna and steam room which is free to use. My husband and I both had a lovely massage for reasonable prices. Having heard that smoking was a big issue at this hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to see non smoking areas outside at breakfast and dinner. Maybe this is a new addition so well done to the hotel for introducing this. The gym was adequate and had air con. Yes the lifts could be a pain at times having to wait, but it was more comical than a negative on the hotel. The biggest negative for us was the bed and the pillows. They were both terribly soft and uncomfortable. My sleep really suffered. But if you love a soft bed you will be fine. The cleaners always closed the toilets in the lobby for cleaning at breakfast time which I found a bit strange and inconvenient. Happily the disabled one was always available or I imagine the outside toilets would be open. Something to bear in mind if you have certain needs. The nighttime entertainment started too late for us at 9.30pm so can’t really comment on that. The use of plastic water bottles in this hotel hurts my soul as I don’t believe any gets recycled, and we are big water drinkers so went through a huge amount. But that is a Bulgaria issue rather than the hotel. However would it really be that difficult to install a water refill station for people to refill their own bottles? We wouldn’t return to this hotel due to the unpredictable weather in Bulgaria even in July, but wouldn’t hesitate to stay at other Secrets hotels in the world.

Location lovely, as was the beach. The sea is beautiful. The resort itself however, left a lot to be desired. Staff are overall good and hardworking but the lack of management support is obvious to the less experienced team members. There are plenty of fresh options for salads and cold foods but the hot stuff is never hot and at best recycled into something else from the day before. We were preferred which was totally not worth it, at previous secrets resorts you are given a concierge who literally manages everything for your stay and any issues go via them. Not so in sunny beach. No concierge, a very brief welcome whereby we were given a glass of Prosecco with our room key. No effort to take your bags to the room on arrival so you can relax for 5 having just arrived and we were told the lift is there, your room is on 12th floor. No bbq’s on the beach as different food options as other secrets resorts have and there are no serving staff on the beach to see if you want any drinks etc. No cushions on the sunbeds (we were given extra towel cards as an alternative when we complained). Restaurants are difficult to book, reception can’t or won’t do it for you and you have to go at a specific time to a certain place in the main buffet hall. Food in the restaurants is shocking, if you’re going for a change in buffet with nice options I wouldn’t bother. In the Italian the offer was a pizza which was made up with chopped up cheese from the buffet and unmelted. We went hungry after our experience as the food was appalling, neither of us could eat it and the main buffet stopped serving. Hotel says 24 hour room service but in fact it’s just a selection of cold sandwiches in the cafe made up from the rest of the meats etc not eaten during the day. All in all, we enjoyed our stay but mainly because anytime we asked for something to change or complain we were met with either indifference or failing to see a problem. Life is easy when you don’t get given a choice or an improvement
