We stayed here in May 2026. The hotel is just half an hour drive to the border with Croatia. We had a sea view room with balcony in the far section of the hotel so it was mostly quiet. Rooms have fridges and kettles. The hotel had a mix of people staying here but mostly families and couples. Reception staff were very helpful and any issues with our room (safe not working, curtains falling down, etc) were fixed straightaway with no issues. The hotel does all inclusive food so it can get a bit samey every day. Drinks are only included at mealtimes but are half price in the bar at other times for all inclusive guests. There is a FRAM travel counter at the hotel but most trips are French speaking guides and quite pricey. You can arrange your own trips as there is a small travel booth 100 yards down the street. There is also a small supermarket and cash machine. There are also at least one cruise ship going past a day.

Hotel Kumbor is in the most stunning location, make sure you book a priority location sea view room for the most amazing views, when the cruise ships go by it’s breathtaking. You can walk to the local marina which has some posh shops and bars but is very quiet, there isn’t much else to walk to but the bus service is very good and cheap, I recommend Igalo which we found by chance but was lovely. Beware if you fly into Dubrovnik airport you have to go through border control that can take hours, Tivat airport is small but so much less stressful than the queues at the border. The hotel reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Now a few negatives, the cleaning of the rooms is atrocious they don’t even really make the bed, the entertainment is dire we had a live singer twice but other than that and some short quiz all in French there is nothing else, I suggest bringing cards. The food has a great selection but is only over luke warm they really need to work on being able to keep the food hotter. Despite there meant to be an à la carte restaurant onsite we didn’t see one which was a shame as it was one of the reasons we booked the hotel to have some choice. The drinks are strangely all by a dispenser even the limited cocktails if you want anything decent you have to pay for it which is a disappointment for a 4 star hotel, they also only serve in glass which around the pool is an accident waiting to happen. Overall we didn’t find the hotel to be a 4 star but the location and views are stunning .

We were extremely disappointed with the service at this hotel. We arrived with a few-month-old baby, expecting at least some basic understanding and consideration, but the reality was completely the opposite. There was absolutely no priority given to families with infants – we received our room last, despite clearly traveling with a baby. The staff appeared indifferent and completely lacking in understanding of our situation. There was no flexibility or willingness to help, which is especially important under such circumstances. We definitely do not recommend this hotel for families with small children. The experience was very unpleasant and disappointing.

We stayed at Carine Hotel Kumbor Superior for 8 days and absolutely loved our trip. Even though we had a storm in the middle of our holiday, it didn’t take away from the experience at all—in fact, once the weather improved, it made us appreciate everything even more. The food was really good and definitely better than other all-inclusive hotels we’ve stayed at. It’s not quite 5-star level, but for a 4-star hotel it’s genuinely impressive. We actually looked forward to dinner every day, which says a lot! Our room was incredible—we had a corner room with a sea view and a wraparound window, and it was just stunning to wake up to every morning. The rooms are clean, modern, and really nicely decorated, which made the whole stay feel extra comfortable and relaxing. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, which always makes a big difference. A couple of things to note: the jacuzzi and spa are not included in the all-inclusive package, and you have to pay extra for a two-hour session. Also, drinks from the individual bars are not included—only drinks from the restaurant are covered. This was a bit surprising for an all-inclusive hotel, but honestly, it didn’t bother us too much. Overall, the experience of the hotel felt 5-star, and we had such a wonderful time. We would definitely recommend it and would happily return!
