We can’t imagine staying anywhere else in the Bay of Kotor after spending three days here. The lounge chairs one foot from the water, the pool on the bay and dock for boats to all pull up in front felt like we were in Lake Como for a fraction of the cost. You do need to get to the lounge chairs at a reasonable hour if you want somewhere to sit (by 10am not a problem but when we did a morning activity and tried to go after lunch we didn’t have much luck) and there are plenty of people at pool to help move umbrellas and give you shade but they don’t really enforce their half hour or you lose your chairs policy from what we saw. The main buildings of the hotel are gorgeous as well. They fit in with what overall is a beautiful town. We stayed in a duplex room that worked for our family of four although the one small bathroom was a tad tight. Rooms are fairly simple but were clean. You don’t have a view even though you are on the top floor. For some unknown reason there are rooms blocking the view that are used for conference rooms and a library. Seems like a missed opportunity since they aren’t used very much from what we can tell. The one major complaint about the room is the front door is glass which makes it crazy bright in the morning. Also probably not great when summers are so hot as well and struggling to get AC to a cool enough level. The service was definitely not five star but it wasn’t enough to detract from the overall experience. For example, it took asking three times to get towels when housekeeping forgot to replenish enough. One day we walked in while housekeeping was there to grab something we forgot and they left and never made the beds upstairs. We had a package as part of our rate with free messages but then were told they had no openings during our stay. They found something the last day and when we asked for a later checkout to allow us to do those, they were accommodating to their credit.

Be aware when booking the superior deluxe rooms that there is no view. We had a tiny window that looked straight at a brick wall. I wish I knew about the views before I booked. Breakfast was a strange mix of eggs cooked to order and chicken nuggets and cauliflower from the hot food section. I was very disappointed as Perast is beautiful but the hotel does not live up to expectations.

We booked our stay at the Heritage Grand Perast through Voyage Privé and overall we had an amazing stay. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and in such a stunning location. I would definitely recommend it. The only issue we had was with our room on arrival. We had booked what was described and shown as a heritage premium sea-view room, and I paid extra but the first room we were given, although absolutely massive, did not have the sea view we were expecting and did not match what we had seen on the hotel website or Voyage Privé. This is the only time we have ever had an issue when travelling with Voyage Privé. The hotel did move us to a proper sea-view room, which we appreciated, although it still didn’t have the double windows shown in the photographs. As a gesture, we were also given a complimentary dinner, which was lovely. Apart from that, the stay was fantastic. The room was cleaned beautifully throughout our stay and the standard of housekeeping was excellent. A special mention has to go to Olena and Daniella, two of the waitresses, who were absolutely lovely. They were always friendly, happy, welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help. Breakfast was great every morning, with plenty of choice, and another thing we really appreciated was that water was complimentary throughout our stay. You simply asked for more whenever you needed it. The concierge team were also brilliant. They would happily drop you down to the car park or to the car pool at the end of the seafront, which was really helpful. I also had the most amazing massage with Mia. She was fantastic and I honestly would have booked more treatments if there had been availability. The spa facilities were lovely too and really added to the relaxing feel of the holiday. There were pool towels available down by the seafront, and the spa which was really convenient, and even on our final day when it rained, the hotel made sure we had umbrellas to use. Overall, we had such a beautiful stay and would absolutely recommend Heritage Grand Perast. The setting, staff, food, spa and service were all wonderful. My only advice would be to double-check exactly which room you have booked and make sure it matches the photographs and description you are expecting, particularly if the sea view and style of room are important to you. It was to us as we spend a lot of time in the room. Perest is definitely most beautiful place daytime and evening. Other than that, it was a wonderful hotel and an amazing stay.
