Nice place for swimming. Extremely nice view over the bay. Hotel team is really trying to make guests happy. Especially worth to mentioned our bartender Janko and members of animation team Esfir and Mira. But one sour drop is about food, served in restaurant. It is a bit boring and can be a bit more creative, when local cuisine allows that.

A very mixed review. Firstly, the hotel is surrounded by beautiful views. It is quite isolated which gives a relaxing feel to it and the steps were ok for us but wouldn’t be so great if you had a buggy or mobility problems. The entertainment team are great and they make an effort to chat to you. We particularly enjoyed the water aerobics which was finished with a big game involving everyone. The music quiz was fun but short at 15 minutes. We also enjoyed the white party but we were disappointed and unaware that there was no activities on the Saturday. The sea is clear and lovely to swim in although shoes are needed to walk in. There is a ladder further down on the private bay to enter. The weather was predicting heavy rain on day 1 but this seemed to stay on the mountains and cleared quickly. The pool is nice (very deep - I think around 1.47m) with a separate shallow part for children. We caught the boat across to the old town which was €15 each for the crossing but it was nice for a change of scenery - again lots of steps. Very easy to navigate but you’ll need cash. There are a few negatives for us though at the high pricepoint. Firstly when we arrived the reception decor appeared rundown and they weren’t the most welcoming even though we were the only guests there at the time. But when we checked out it was a different team who were happy and helpful. We’ve been to a few Iberostar hotels before in various locations and have always been ‘wowed’ by the food but on this occasion we were heavily disappointed. I read about repetition in peoples reviews, which it was, but that wasn’t necessarily the issue. The problem was the variety and quality as a whole. It seems very small for the size of the hotel. A lot of it was lukewarm and some of it tasted odd. On day 2, I actually had really bad stomach pains (I’ve never had this abroad before) and couldn’t eat for that day and the next morning. One of the nights didn’t have a theme and so options were very limited. There is always a live cooking station usually with one meat and fish such as chicken and salmon. The cheeses were dry and the cured meats seemed to have been left out for a while. We were very disappointed that the drinks were non branded. I like Coca Cola and this is the first Iberostar where this isn’t included. You can get it (extra) from certain bars but this certainly didn’t taste like Coca Cola and is hidden behind the bar. I will add the young lady at the bar by the restaurant was so lovely. They seem to have a good variety of alcohol although we didn’t really have any. The cocktail variety are limited at this Iberostar with around 4/5. They had glasses of nuts in the bar in the evening but some more snacks at night with the entertainment would be nice. Difficulty finding the rooftop bar but great to watch the sunset from. The snack bar is very limited. Burgers, occasional chicken nuggets and some salad bits but there was a constant stream of flies (which i understand is pretty impossible to eradicate). The snack bar by the pool looks cool - they serve waffles and pancakes. Behind that bar they had a screen showing the football late at night which was nice. There are water coolers everywhere which is very handy. The rooms and spacious enough with a small area for luggage. The bathroom is tired with wallpaper peeling in places and mould in corners. The hairdryer was good and had a switch - not the ones were you have to hold the button constantly! Shower over the bath but the bath base was looking old and stained and was quite difficult to climb into. But they cleaned the rooms very well everyday and were very friendly. The bins were emptied everyday. The beds are quite hard but clean. Good wardrobe space. Overall the stay was ok. We felt stressed when it came to meal times which is something we usually look forward to. We didn’t really enjoy the drinks and felt there could have been more activity wise. I regret to leave a slightly negative review but just want to prepare others for things we hadn’t been aware of for such a high pricepoint. Overall it is clean, set in a lovely location with friendly people. The pool is clean. There is enough sunbeds (although the ones directly by the pool usually go) and there are cats in hidden places which was a lovely addition - they seem to fed by the hotel which was good- although some are looking a little frail.
